Missed the match and goals. The last 3 pages told a lot about it though. Especially posts from pseudo experts like snake pisstake.

Does it matter whether he scored a tap in or not? The alarming regularity with which he gets tap ins is a fantastic talent in itself.

Presumably people mention that it was a tap in to people who were aware of the goal already to temper enthusiasm. As if it's a slight that he scores a lot of tap ins. It's remarkable that he can do it so often. I've no idea why you're talking about how players dress.

Scoring a tap-in may be a matter of luck or of great movement. When a forward scores many tap-ins, it is about movement and anticipation, not about luck.
Movement (including anticipation) is as important in football as technique and power but it is more difficult to appreciate it than skills on the ball or power because it is more difficult to take notice of it. I think that Ronaldo's greatest asset as a forward may be exactly his movement. Judging by a recent interview, Ancelotti seems to think the same.

Family troubles are seldom good news for players, so it wouldn't be a surprise.
If the Barcelona gossip press are right he had another round of treatment on his knee over Christmas. Last time he had it done was when he missed a couple of games near the start of the season. This time though he wasn't/hasn't rested after the treatment and it's less likely to have worked - allegedly.
I think it may be a more general Madrid team problem though. Ramos, Kroos, Ronaldo aren't really rotated and all of them are looking a bit worse for wear. Ancelotti says the team's coming back into form and in another couple of weeks it will be fine, I guess we wait and see.
I've said this multiple times, why not appreciate both players? Why the need to constantly downplay their merits? For instance, im portuguese and supposedly should be biased but i enjoy seeing Messi playing. Never said a bad word against him in off topic terms. Football wise, i give my opinion when he plays good or bad. It isn't annoying for me when people criticize Ronaldo rightfully. But there are some that are always clearly fishing. Here and in the Messi thread when they mention he isn't anything without Iniesta or Xavi. The quality in both thread is atrocious if you compare with the level most discussion topics have in this great forum. It certainly is fascinating to see two amazing players in their "dispute". Bottom line, some prefer Messi and other prefer Ronaldo. Some people suggest that there is preferencial treatment for Ronaldo fans. I actually don't think so. I think it's pretty even. Surprising for an United messageboard but understandable since we have alot of neutrals. There are some members that accuse other of acting childish on the thread and don't look at their own posture, which is a shame. The discussion will always be tainted because people can't act rationally.

Guys, I wasn't being serious...just an attempt to highlight the silliness of downplaying goals. They're the whole point of football. That isn't it to say all goals are equal; some are clearly more important than others. But even if a player does feck all during the game and ends up scoring two - like Ronaldo often does - he has undeniably influenced the game.
Does a tap in count less than a goal from 50m? Or does the team get less points if wins the match by tap ins?

Yeah its no coincidence some players keep scoring tap ins. Penalties, fair enough discount them, any professional should be able to score the vast majority of penalties they take.

It does not bother me that you point out that fact, but you seem to use that as a criticism against him. It does not matter how goals are scored - if someone scores with the consistency that he does, then that is a sign of greatness.
It's obviously great if he manages to score more than 50 goals for the fifth season in a row. No other player in the history of football in Europe has managed to do so. Feck, no other players has managed to score 50 or more goals on four consecutive seasons.
A tap in is a goal. It counts the same as dribbling past 5 players, assisting yourself and then scoring with a bicycle kick while having at the same time a selfie with iphone 7. And it wins the same number of points. If these 50 tap ins which Penaldo scores helps Real Madrid to win yeat another title (be it league and UCL) then it is great both for him and for club. And if it is an UCL, then most likely will give him a Tap In'Or. Again!
