He was to blame for the second goal. Anybody who blames him for first and third goal needs to get a clue.

Could have done better for the freekick. Not per se a mistake, but he could have done better. Seen them saved

Was hoping Spain would win so he wouldn't get stick. Probably shouldn't worry. He's too good not to come back from this kind of thing.

He's like Higuain. Higuain is world class everywhere but Argentina.

DDG is world class everywhere but Spain.

Should probably let both wear their club kits instead of the National kits...

You're free to disagree. But, he was rooted to the spot. A better position would have given him a chance at getting to the ball
He had no chance of getting the ball. The free kick was too close to the goal (in terms of free kicks). To get that much power and hit it curling in from the outside of the post in is impossible to save.

Genuine question here...has he ever saved a pen? Apart from that Arsenal game.
Lukaku in Fa Cup semi final 2016. Another one against Everton too in 2014/2015 game at OT when we won 2-1.

He's terrible in them though, but so was Buffon.

I just hope Hierro isn't a knee jerker and drops him but I don't see that. They should be comfortable the next two games and that's enough for him to bed into the tournament and get back to normal.

Absolutely love this guy. Favorite player in the club right now. One of my favorite players of all time.

... Couldn't care less about how he does in Worldcup. He might as well score a hatrick own goals. That'll be good as far as I am concerned. It might help keep potential suitors (Madrid) away.

LOL just noticed people are replaying to a poster I ignored. Watched it, ignore is a great function.

He was too far to the right post.
I'm not blaming De Gea but he was gambling on Ronaldo not to have a perfect hit because that was like like his third successful free kick after millions tries this year.

All great players have moments like that, it's not a problem.

It's good though that it rarely happens with his club performances.

No mate, he always positions himself like this for free kick when it comes to United and more or less saves them everytime. Ronaldo just hit it perfectly.

Wow, the number of morons showing up in this thread today...

This guy is the best GK in the world, he doesn't suddenly turn to shieet just because he has an off game.

Perspective matters.

Sell him. Lolz. Glad his mistakes are for Spain. Still the best keeper in the world. Beauty of it is nobody can deny it. All the ABUs have been saying he's been single handedly propping us up since Fergie left.

The number of morons who think he is the best even after fecking it up at the big stage... wow. Right now, this wc performance will decide whether he is only a club specialist or if he can do great things for his nation

The problem was that he took a battle to high. You don't play mental games with the G.O.A.T. Then he will show why he is it. A great player knows what he can and what he can't do.
