First World Cup in forever though, a momentous occasion. Surely they should have looked at the coach and staff and pushed for someone who could have organized the players more, at the very least? It all looks so half-assed. These players should be beating that Iran team.

He has no qualifications for the job whatsoever and it has let the players and the fans down on such a massive occasion.
He guided Wales to last 16 at Euros and then qualified them for World cup so he's done more than o.k and certainly they've moved on from Giggs.

Page like most British managers struggles to be decisive during the game with tweaks and changes but tbh against this level of opposition not sure what he could do.

Rashford is making a case as a striker, moreso than a right winger imo
He's underrated for me in this position. He's not a clinical world class finisher but he stretches defences and has great movement.

Rashford just got applauded in the pub I'm in. What a corner turned for the lad.

imagine thinking mount should have been starting

fecking failure of a manager. Selecting such a shit player and starting him too.
This is what annoys me about armchair managers. Can a player be anything but good or shit? If mount is a shit footballer 80% of all players in the prem is shit. The best league in the world has 80% shit players. Some feat that

Wilson doing really well - there isn't a need to be overly reliant on an unfit Harry Kane

Appreciate Wilson's unselfishness, would be very easy in this situation to chase individual goals but here and against Iran he was played the right passes.

are Iran aware of the score? do they understand the rules? 75 minutes of defending and countering, which would be fine if they weren't losing.

Mount has been shit for years now in an england shirt.

generally a plodder of a player who gets picked for his work rate.

There is a time and a place for those type, but definitely should not be selected ahead of Foden or Rashford.

He's tactically so far out of his depth it's unbelievable. That Denmark game at the Euros being the most obvious example - Hjulmand was playing chess and Page was playing noughts and crosses. Having a dinosaur of a manager who at least knows how to set up a proper kick and rush counter attack would be a step up.

But yeah, no way he was going given the results.
