How many players on the Swiss team are of actual Swiss background btw? Is it just Leichsteiner and a few others? That's pretty crazy..

That was so poor from lavezzi. Messi's pass to him was spot on. It's amazing how poor some of these players are performing.

Is it me or is Robben even more dangerous a dribbler than Messi nowadays.

seems far more explosive. More drive.

What does the background matter though when they all learned their footy in Switzerland. I'd argue the place where a player became a pro footballer should define what nation you should play for if it's a toss up between multiple nationalities. These guys all grew up in Switzerland.

ethnic backgrounds shouldnt really matter when playing for national teams. with so much immigration in europe players should play for teams where they are born and grow up, of course thats not always the case

Switzerland need someone better than Drmic up front. He's useless. Doesn't seem to have any qualities.

Barcelona have ruined Mascherano. He's arguably the worst player in this Argentina side.

Agreed, he was a monster at Corinthians and Liverpool. I thought he'd just keep getting better and better. Now he looks like a cb playing in midfield. Yet he's shite in defence too.

Song fecked himself by going there too. But Mascherano is an extreme example.

The amount of close chances that aren't being converted means this is destined to go to a shootout, or a Messi goal in the 112' minute.

Do any of the big teams actually want to win the bloody thing?
