Portugal are so bad. Iran with a genuine shout to qualify, which is mental.

Horrific performance from every Portugal player except Patricio. Was impressed with them against Spain but not today, their midfield is some kind of sick joke.

Portugal was about 100x better against Spain then today. Sloppy on the ball, slow to the 50/50s, pushed off of it, poor on counters, all over the place defensively but because of ronaldo's finish and Patricio in net they win. They're a lot better then this and Morocco did have to go all out, so that plays a part. Doubt they play this poorly in the knockouts, basically there though which is all that counts.

That was the only fun game today. The other 2 will be boring/average at best I believe.

You can bet on these lucky feckers getting Russia in the next round rather than Uruguay.
Uruguay looked no better against Egypt than Portugal did today. Russia plays with a lot of energy so I'm not sure if either of those is worse than the other to face.

Portugal isn't as good as we looked against Spain but nowhere near as bad as today.

The early goal made us play on the counter and the players deep down weren't playing like it was a vital game. Morocco wanted it more and we're unlucky not to score.

You saw it again?

One Portugal player said to Moutinho that he has to stay on the pitch and all others celebrated outside the pitch.

We were completely bullied, they were stronger, faster and had a lot more energy. Their pressing was great but what you've just seen is pretty much the blueprint to beating us. Press our defenders who aren't good enough to build from the back and then attack our left flank where Guerreiro will give you loads of chances.

We looked a lot better defensively when we ditched the 4-4-2 for the 4-3-3 at least but tonight showed why we're not going to get too far into the tournament. I think Russia or Uruguay will give us a very difficult game if we get past the group.

I think Moutinho thinks it's a rule but it actually isn't

The rulebook says that for them to kick off the players have to be in their half. It doesn't say anything about them being off the pitch.

How lethal is Ronaldo in the air :annoyed:
Morocco did okay but the writing was always on the wall after the first game.

They have been really unlucky, they're the second best african NT and they probably deserved a point today and 3 points against Iran. No points and no goals is terrible so hopefully they can do something in the Spain game. Both the players and fans deserve it.

Isn't this how Portugal played in the Euros? They drew their 3 group stage matches did they not?

Maybe they're trying to Mourinho it, get a goal and sit back.
That's Fernando Santos' style anyway.

When he was managing PAOK, you'd get the feeling that he could manage to get a draw against anyone. If there is one man to help Portugal reach the WC final from the bench, that's him.

Of course, there's also the other guy...

Imagine, just imagine, Iran beats Spain today.

Queiroz would make a deal with the Portugese to draw the final game.

The ball would sit in the middle of the pitch for the 90 minutes. 0% possession for both teams

Holy shit, the 3 players some saudi official said would be “punished” have been dropped, including their supposed star man al sahlawi. Hopefully that’s all their punishment is, a dropping and not something corporal.

In the Euros we were actually decent at defending which isn't really true anymore. Pepe, Fonte and Raphael are all worse.
Portugal gave away three goals against Hungary at the group stage. After that, they played very solid defensively.

Bit of a risk to play untested defenders against Suarez and Cavani? Surely Suarez won't be as bad as he was in that first game.

Will be interesting to see this Torreira or what he is called from Serie-A.

If he is as good as they say I find it strange that not more clubs are in for him with his release clause.
