Good finish.

Good game this, have to feel for Canada. Their defence is letting them down.

This is the first day I haven’t watched any games so far (might try to catch 2nd half of Spain)

How’s the football been today? Missed much?

Modric Brozovic Kovacic are all just wonderful footballers. Feels like the 2018 semi final all over again but squeezed into one half. They kill the game with ball retention and efficiency.

Are the BBC really bolding the winner's score on the graphic?

Presumably for the benefit of people who can't work out which number is bigger.

Croatian-German co-commentator Ivan Klasnic just said on German tv: "like they always say, Croatian players are the Brazilians of Europe, ..."

Is this really something that people say about Croatian footballers? Obviously a lot of them have great technical skill, but is this really a nickname for them?
Never heard it but it might be a thing in the Balkans or even in Germany. Denmark are called the Brazilians of the Nordics. Probably only in Scandinavia though and it dates back to them having Laudrup and other superbly talented players even more technical than Brazilians.

Fair enough. Good start from Canada but Croatia stepped it up, took a hold of the game and just started playing through the press with ease. When you have 2 press resistant midfielders like Kovačić and Modrić ... Hard to play against.

This World Cup is definitely there for the taking. All the teams are flawed in some way and have looked beatable, with the possible exception of Spain, but we need to see them against Germany first.

Croatia are good in patches but it is nothing to strike fear into anybody.

Canada defending is suicidal.

Hard for Canada. A lot of their players won’t be used to playing at this intensity at such a high level and it’s showing. They should probably put Davies in at LB or it could get worse.

Canada are far too open.

If they continue like this the score line will get embarrasing.

hope we score another 2 or 3 in second half. Canada hasn't offered much bar expected pace and energy.

Horrible decision starting Hutchinson. Too slow. Ran past easily.

Osorio and Hoilett need to come on.

Alex Scott

My brain keeps switching the second Croatia scorer to Marco Di Vaio.

Actually the Brazilians of the Balkans were called the players from Romania in the 90's because they were very technical.. Gheorghe Hagi as a prime example.. never heard of the Croats as Brazilians but hey maybe this is an inside call..
