It's actually hard to remember a 7 out of 10 performance from him let alone a MotM award or a consistent run of good form.

The thing with Dalot is that I cannot remember one match where I thought he stood out as being excellent. As bad as essentially everyone else is right now, I can at least recall performances they have put in which have really impressed me. I just can't do that with Dalot.

Is anybody here capable of naming a match in which Dalot stood out as playing really well? I'm wondering if I am just forgetting something or if there seriously haven't been any.
Can't think of any either.

Unfortunately, in the eyes of a lot of fans, a fullback getting into the final third with the ball equates to a good performance.

He is better than AWB and a much better player than what most of here think.

The issue is that he is not what we need and his contract runs out next year. I don't think he should be given a new one. So, again we opted to keep him because we can't find a new RB.
He is useless.. He cannot make a single cross.. They are either overhit or hits the first man..
He cannot defend.. Gets beaten every game..
He would be one of the first players we needed to bin

Most bemusing thing is certain parts of the fanbase thinking he's good.

Even Neville said "he's a powerful runner" when trying to justify him in the starting eleven.

He's a bum. Honestly, worse than AWB in my mind because at least he can tackle. Dalot is so bad it's comical.

He cannot cross, he cannot shoot, he can't dribble, has no pace, zero technique, passing range is that of an under 16s player, zero awareness and is the starting RB.

Rather play three at the back and a traffic cone.
His main attribute that has somehow got him a regular starting spot is 'not being Wan Bissaka'.
His useless performances go under the radar while bigger names take the flak.

I mean, Luke Shaw mixes the odd 8/10 performances in with the occasional 3/10 and his frequent 5/10. Dalot is a pretty consistent 4.5/10, with the extra 0.5 being awarded to him on the basis of not being Wan-Bissaka.

Tbf I think all of our full backs are struggling with the current strategy of underlapping whilst the winger is positioned wide. I don't think it suits any of the players involved at all.

So much so, Dalot, Shaw and Laird as well I think would improve tremendously with some proper wingers that can create enough space for them to overlap instead of underlap.

he did ok yesterday. What’s wrong here?!

Just CAF venting as usual, he did okay and could've easily had 2 assists in yesterday's match.

The permanent discussion among United fans who is shittier between him and AWB shows how bad in fact both are. I am not sure why we brought in a second LB first as despite Shaw having started the season awful he is miles better than what we got on the right side.

Unfortunately too many players who needs to be upgraded so the RB will get overlooked. I would rather get AWB back than Dalot tbh. His first season he was brilliant and that accounts at least for 30-40 games he featured. He just needs to get the right instruction and more self belief.

Seeing Dalot trying to control the ball in a testimonial match fashion only to lose it the next second because "oh shit this game is way faster than I thought" is absolutely terrible. The amount of balls he tries to thread to Sancho or his teammates is also very low whenever he pops up on the right flank in possession.

I know this may sound stupid but if none of them can understand basics of the modern game or lack the ability, maybe we could try Elanga there.

Positioning is terrible. Touch and passing are pretty good. Crossing is terrible.

I'd call botafogo for Rafael.

He’s so bad that I’d rather just have AwB. At least hes got some physicality, and pace.

It is a conundrum how he is being picked over AWB (who is not good enough too). He is an absolute nothing player.

Why can't James Garner play RB?. Right footed, great in the tackle, industrious.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but his throw ins put us under all sorts of pressure.

Wouldn't play it to the person near him, threw it long for contested headers that we then lost and immediately had us chasing backwards etc.

AWB is guilty of this as well. FFS wasn't we meant to have a set piece coach fix this?

He’s being linked with Barcelona. Though Fabrizio Romano mentions that no official contact was made. What he also mentioned, which concerns me a lot, is that he is highly rated u Ten Hag. since I trust Fabrizio, this last statement worries me

One of the biggest disappointments for me. This guy was miles above any other player at youth national team level and he made a solid half-season before joining us, but simply couldn't continue his evolution.

A pity, because him and Diogo Leite looked like the real deal on that Porto youth team, but things changed so much at top level. Financially speaking, their careers are being good.

Thought he battled hard tonight

Gave his all, but not good enough. Far too many Hollywood balls, stupid balls in dangerous areas and just not enough footballing IQ. Ok game from him, though.

We need a new right back.

It is even quite tempting to play Williams.

I've been very down on him but he had a solid game tonight. If he keeps that up, he'll change my mind.

He defended well I thought but his use of the ball just isn't right. He's part of the reason we can't keep the ball.

Probably his best performance in a united shirt today.

He was really fired up, just needs to stay on his feet a little more, but that was the quietest ive ever seen Diaz.

If he plays with that sort of desire more often he will be a great fullback.

He was very good defensively and kept Diaz quiet all match. Not as impressive on the ball but thought he was good today.

What a difference a decent defence can do. He still needs to improve and think it a position we can upgrade, but fantastic game from him today.

Fair play. Had a good game

I’ve always said he is not good enough, but have to say he had a very good game today. Was so worried about him going up against Diaz, but he did very well.

You can see he really wants to succeed. Still not good enough to make the position his own, but loved the passion and aggression.

The most aggressive I've ever seen him. He's usually a bit casual.

Best he's played for ages
