so what is it then Einstien? Given this exact squad was amazing 8 weeks ago.And to just shut down @sammsky1 bs comment about fitness people said the exact same thing when Ole took over after Jose and we had a disastrous run to end the season. "He just needs a pre season and everything will be fine" Well he got one and the following season we had a disastrous run of form and results until January when Bruno came in and things started to turn around so please people spare us from this bs excuse that it has feck all to do with fitness.

The commentary was saying that crystal palace was targeting our weakest spots all game - RW, RB, & RCB.We played Crystal Palace today.
And got played off the pitch.
You don't need world beaters in every position to beat Palace.
I agree but are our players really much better than Palace? Goalkeeper and midfield yes but not sure about our wingers and our defenders. We United fans are very good at overrating our players! We played Crystal Palace today.

Ole chose to start James on the right vs a low block defense when everyone knows he is useless vs a low block defense and more-so useless on the right. The commentary was saying that crystal palace was targeting our weakest spots all game - RW, RB, & RCB.
Playing there was james, TFM and Lindelof.
So we might not need world class or promising players in every position to win - but not having them makes the opposition find it easier to identify a weakness either before or during the match and penetrate it consistently for 90+ mins.
Oh not this again.I agree but are our players really much better than Palace? Goalkeeper and midfield yes but not sure about our wingers and our defenders. We United fans are very good at overrating our players!
We are closer to the Montpellier team than Liverpool and City. Damn I miss that city!We don't aim to be the best in the league this season but we are on paper far better than Crystal Palace. And Sancho would have changed nothing, the team wasn't ready physically and tactically.
To be fair Montpellier is a better city than Liverpool too .We are closer to the Montpellier team than Liverpool and City. Damn I miss that city!
They truly played some amazing football against Southampton and West ham those final games that nearly blew our top 4 chances didn't they? How are you even asking me to answer if you can't see for yourself how mediocre he is tactically? Just take today for an example what are dan james and fosu mensah doing ahead of greenwood and awb and why is he time and time again starting with lindelof when the guy can't defend feck all. As much as I don't rate Smalling why not give him a shot when lindelof is time and time again costing us points? It took him a year just to get lingard out of the team ffs.so what is it then Einstien? Given this exact squad was amazing 8 weeks ago.
It wasn't just the right side. They were toying with our left side and centre backs all game, as well. Their forwards were having a great time strolling past Maguire and Lindelof. The commentary was saying that crystal palace was targeting our weakest spots all game - RW, RB, & RCB.
Playing there was james, TFM and Lindelof.

Maybe they were even less match fit than the guys who played? They truly played some amazing football against Southampton and West ham those final games that nearly blew our top 4 chances didn't they? My friend forget about names or fitness or any other aspect this team under the right manager would never get trashed 3-1 against palace at home and it's not just the result as a matter of fact feck the result, it's the toothless spineless performance that's the issue here and if it was just an odd game or two I would 100% agree with you but we are seing these type of performances time and time again under Ole.Maybe they were even less match fit than the guys who played?
Righly or wrongly, Smalling has been frozen out of the team for over a year and won't be re-integrated unless his fails to move this window.
Love how supporters have this super unrealistic expectation that all sports professionals are super human and are exempt from normal expectations of fatigue and fitness.Great comment and spot on.
Expecting professional footballers on millions a year to be fit for the start of the season i.e. their fecking job is completely unrealistic.
So this is how far we have fallen from any semblance of reality,OP question misses the point
If we’d signed Sancho, we’d have won. Even if he hadn’t played.
Players and everyone within the club wants to know it’s ambitious. There’s currently no ambition. It affects the mood
FactsSo this is how far we have fallen from any semblance of reality,
They could have scored six, come on. We barely created a chance. Greenwood's header was the only one. Not sure why you're trying to spin it as some smash and grab: we were outplayed. You weren't owned tactically, CP did nothing much and profited on your own mistakes... that's not tactics.
We're talking about MUFC, not Liverpool. This is the same team that tore up the Prem in 2020 so no, we should not need jadon sancho to comfortably beat Palace, by anywhere near a stretch.
Unfortunately a lot of fans don't want to accept the reality that the planning for this season has been a shambles. They could have scored six, come on. We barely created a chance. Greenwood's header was the only one. Not sure why you're trying to spin it as some smash and grab: we were outplayed.
I am the game.Ok Chunkz.
It hasn't really though has it.That excuse has been peddled since are honeymoon period ended

Not sure why it is so different for us, like I said every team has had it hard every team has been disrupted, break out the small violinIt hasn't really though has it.
First half of last season we were without a lot of players. Then we went on a run but were left exhausted after a packed schedule, a schedule we haven't had time to recover from nor time to prepare for the new season.
CP had about 6 games extra prep than us if i'm not mistaken.
Of course we are off the pace.
I think it shows we will need to out score teams this season with a cb seemingly not on the cardsWhat has signing Sancho got to do with one match yesterday, unless we only had him for one game?
At least judge it as the season pans out.
If you swapped the preparations of Palace and United, do you think Palace still wins that game?
Some people are only here to stick the boot in after a poor performance. And seem to look forward to that opportunity.
This isn't being a supporter. This is opportunistic wankery, and it's killing this forum.
