No. No one want to lose.

Does it disturb you to see Liverpool winning PL? Yes, so go ahead and lose to City. It's not what we want, but what we should do.

I think a lot of you fail to understand quite how awful it will be if Liverpool win the league

Yes, missing out on top 4 would be shit - for one season anyway

But if Liverpool win the league we will be hearing about it in the year 2049. 83 commemorative dvds and streams will appear on amazon. Smug chav poets will wax lyrical about the “greatest ever team in the greatest ever title race” and that sort of shit.

Losing one game is a small price to pay

Hope the mods can make a poll.

A loss to Shitty could probably cost us a top 4 spot, but also likely prevents the dippers from winning the league.

I am deeply conflicted, can't decide if I want shitty to beat us 1-0 or properly thump us so it helps their goal difference.

Opinions?
No. Feck off.

If Liverpool win the league so be it. City winning the league is just as bad. We need to make sure we win it next year.

We won’t though.

Exactly, feck top 4.
Rather focus on the league next season and give the young lads a great opportunity in the EL.
Rather that than seeing Liverpool win the league for the mighty delight of getting battered by some Spanish team again in the CL.
This team isn’t there yet, let it evolve organically, top 4 race is an insult for Manchester United, we either win the league or we don’t, that’s all there is to it.
We’re not Arsenal.
I don’t think you read my post too well.

Derby
The board have put in place a system that should prevent the players throwing with their own will a game of football, they have contracts with individual goals and team goals.

If you make top 4 you have a financial bonus , if a player scores or assist he have an added bonus, they even have bonus clauses for derbies, they may even have a bonus for not losing a derby, nowdays they are even paid to clap the fans after the games end, so its not surprising they have bonus clauses for particular games important to the club history.

Add to that the fact there is a CL place at stack , so why would they throw the game ?

As if we had a choice. We will lose no matter what we want.

Nope... proper fans should always want United to win every time.
Easy to say that from Canada....you don't have to live/work/socialise with the insufferable bellends

There's also the view, which I support, that Utd being obviously embarrassed against the big sides and finishing outside the top four is actually BETTER for the club in the long run. If we, for example, comfortably finished 4th every year with the odd cup run, the Glazers business model would continue to work. If we keep finishing 6th and gradually become increasingly irrelevant, they'll have no choice but to invest or sell

There is so much bs in this post I don’t know where to start. Actually preferring to play in the EL over the CL :houllier:

Probably our season highlight was that win against PSG. With another year behind Ole and a summer of new singings, you never know what can happen. Look at Spurs, look at Ajax. But no, you’d prefer to compete in the EL

Wonder what Sir Alex, Sir Bobby, the club, the players, the travelling fans who spend their hard earned cash supporting the team etc etc .....what would they want?

Let's see. In relatively recent times, we've had posters explain that it's better for us to lose if it means getting rid of Moyes/ LVG/ Mourinho, showing the board how shit our players are and now preventing Liverpool from winning the title. Ye boys let me know when it's ok to start shouting for a United victory again. Life used to be simpler.

It's funny because it's true.

Don't you remember in 2010 when Chelsea needed to beat Liverpool to win the title over United? In that game Steven Gerrard played a suicidal back pass to his keeper that Drogba scored from. Do you really want United to engage in such small time tactics, especially when we have our own agenda to engage in?

I'll get over us getting beat by City a damn site quicker than I would if I see Liverpool win the league.

I think a lot of this boils down to how many Liverpool fans you know and what they're like too. I know a fair few and most of them are absolute cocks.

Absolutely, i want it to be deliberate.
A back pass, Ashley Young to Aguero, your pride will stay intact because with Young you’d be left wondering whether or not that was deliberate.

Everybody wins, except for Liverpool and the Glazers.

  • In fairness to Liverpool they did win a game at home to Blackburn that we needed them to win to have the title in our own hands. The fact that we messed up down at West Ham and handed it back to Blackburn is irrelevant.
For the sake of sport we need to play it fair and try and win. That said there will be a silver lining if we lose !

My best mate is a Liverpool fan. If they won he would probably send me a text ripping into me, and then we’d move on with the rest of our lives like normal human beings.

It'll be a weird dynamic inside Old Trafford. The players busting a gut. And the crowd noticeably conflicted. Groans when Phil Jones scores an own goal against City in the 89th minute to secure a 1-0 win for United

Short-term pain for long-term gain my friend

We'll NEVER win another major trophy for as long as the Glazers own this club, mark my words. If I have to suffer five barren years of embarrassment and wilderness to get these parasites out of my club I'd take that in a heartbeat over 15+ yrs of Wenger-like clinging to chasing top four to keep the revenue streams flowing

Yes, Liverpool fans are insufferable pricks. 1 league title in 30 years is hardly something to brag about, and anyone that does can easily be shot down by pointing to the fact peter schmeichel had a son, won the league multiple times, then watched his son lift the title in the time it’s taken Liverpool to do it.

In any case, they already pissed away an 11 point lead. Nothing says they won’t feck up more.

feck no. We need to win every game

Who gives a shit if Liverpool win the league? Focus on us.

I'm a Manchester United Fan, not a Anyone but Liverpool Fan

Sure, I hate the scouse, but United always comes first. Anyway, at least they are a real club, unlike our blood money funded neighbours.

The fact Phil Jones moves to City alone is worth celebrating...

I know what the Glazers want, but you think Fergie wants to see Liverpool win the league?
He’d want us to win of course.

A question like this has already played the rounds and I remember one idiot saying he would rather Utd were relegated than Liverpool winning the prem ....fecking priceless.

This guy in the group chat became a Liverpool fan because he and Mane are both Senegalese. If Liverpool win it I'll just leave the group, although I know the cnut will directly call me to gloat.

You’re sure we won’t win a major trophy and that we’ll win them under some other owners then? What are next week’s lottery numbers while you’re at it?

Never. We should do our best to win, as always, but don’t worry some of you - it will most likely not be enough.

No, we don't. I hate Liverpool, and I hate Man City. They are competing for the league because we weren't good enough. End of story.

Hopefully, in the not too distant future, we will be good enough. In the mean time, I still want us to win every game we play.
