Do you place more trust on us or Inter to stop City's treble?

Everyone is fearing the final and the getting a treble. Will be a of pressure on them and finals are one-off dog fights.

Of course they have the ability to smash both of us but we will give them a fight and we've done it before.

We need a combined 11.

Onana
Dumfries Varane Skriniar Shaw
Barella Casimero
Antony Fernandes Rashford
Martinez

If they lose the cup final their morale will be shot. I thought same in 1999. The had we lost against Newcastle because all the focus and expectation was on the treble if that had suddenly been taken from us days before the CL final I don't think we'd have had the spirit to get through that game and win

Yes of course the FA Cup is the least prestigious of the three, but I think the derailing of the momentum and knowing you let something historic slip through your fingers, would potentially ensure the CL final plans went awry.

It’s inevitable that they’ll win the treble. We’ll get slaughtered in the cup final.

I just want to win our last 2 prem games. Will give us momentum into next season.

Inter.

Liverpool somehow beated Milan in 2005, and the difference was a big as the one between City and Inter now.

Plus there is more pressure for City in the UCL than in an FA Cup.

surely the emotional factor makes us the bigger threat to City

We've beaten them this year

Ten Hag can surely get us up for this

I don’t have any faith that Inter can do anything but roll over and have City tickle their tummy. It’s going to suck watching them lift the CL, finally getting the ‘legitimacy’ they crave.
No, if we want a job doing, we’re going to have to do it ourselves!

Inter, not because of them but down to Peps bizarre selection freakouts that seem to happen in finals. There’s a slight chance he goes full lunatic and picks a weird lineup….if not Inter will get pasted

City winning the title reasonably early could end up helping us a little. It's natural that they'll ease off in the games that follow and lose some intensity. The momentum they'd built up from their winning run has dipped slightly by 'only' beating Chelsea 1-0 and drawing last night. Brentford away won't be an easy game either, especially as they need to win for a chance of a Europa League place.

The FA Cup final is nearly 3 weeks after their last meaningful game, hopefully we can take advantage of that.

I'd be surprised if either stopped City winning the treble. Amused and surprised.

Title is self-explained.
Try to be a bit objective: Between us and Inter, who do you put greater trust on to stop City's treble?

The outcome of football matches has nothing to do with trust. But everything to do with how 1 team performs against the other one that particular day with those particular circumstances.
As has been said. City are very good at minimising mistakes. And very few in the dangerous areas. That is the way to win football matches.
But cup finals can be a lottery.

Going with this.

Otherwise, the thread can be flipped to: who will fold the worst.

Wasn’t impressed with Inter last night at all. As solid as they looked in the Milan derbies they were anything but last night . Constantly being sliced open. Don’t actually know how they didn’t concede the equaliser. Clutching at straws at this point…

the CL final, in my opinion, is a given.. City will walk the park, mop the floor, etc with Inter, who I just don't think are very good.

It's easy for City to dominate the league given their quality and squad depth.. with no depth, we could never be as consistent in the league as them, which is what is required to win.

A final is a one off.. it's completely different. We're definitely the underdogs in the FA cup final, but there's no reason we can't put up a fight.

If we had a full squad with no injuries ready to go for the final, I think it's probably a 65-35% chance city win.... without Martinez and varane, we're definitely going to have a lower chance of success... but not impossible.

Lot of people underestimating Inter. It's easy to mock the fact that they have a few of our rejects in their squad but they have some very good players too.

Imagine an Inter win with Mkhi, Lukaku and Darmian scoring. That would be one hell of a narrative

United have the better chance if ETH doesn't go gung-ho as he has done a few times this season. Sit back and counter. If he tries to attack them they'll exploit the spaces and we'll lose.

Inter have a chance purely because they will sit back and try to counter with the full backs and Lautaro / Lukaku. Probably gives them about a 20% chance, whereas a team like Napoli would've tried to go head to head and would've been slaughtered. Still not a great chance at 20% though. A lot will depend on Lukaku, if he can capture some of his old Inter form and run at their defenders then they could create something.

My biggest hope is that Inter’s 2 striker partnership is going to be something different for City to deal with.

They play with 4 CB’s & the only thing that I can see that shocks such a formation/set up is a striker partnership like in the 90’s.

Lautauro Martinez, Lukaku & Dzeko together in sync should give City something harder to handle than a single striker trying to defeat 4 CB’s.

Good luck Inter!

How is their manager Inzaghi viewed tactically? I think he could do worse than looking at how we were set up today and the front two for Inter look a dangerous prospect.

It's not happening, guys. Just let it go. Our players found it easy enough to do so.

I would erm, say Inter?

Though as they have some of our utter pony of years gone by the chances are ridiculously low.

However, I think City could win the treble 5 years in a row and it'd mean nothing to me,
Liverpool winning 1 league in 30 years still rankles though.

Win Arsenal for the league, beat United for the FA Cup, print the treble shirts, get beaten by Lukaku and Darmian.

Is there anyone outside City fans and the UAE that will be rooting for City?

Sure. My friend who doesn’t support any particular big team just our local team, so a neutral effectively, said yesterday that he’d “like to see City win the treble”. I assume there will be many other neutrals in a similar position

I'm officially going into hibernation until next season. I don't have any faith in Inter, and the aftermath is going to be unbearable.
