Wednesday start means there are back-to-back tests with the next one starting the following Thursday.
So the options are either Wed-Sun + Thu-Mon or Thu-Mon + Fri-Tue. I think they want as much as the climax between Fri-Sun so can see why they prefer the first option.

He’s saying Wood is currently our best all format bowler which I think he has a decent claim to. I’m not 100% convinced he’s our best at the moment but I wouldn’t rule it out. He’s not claiming he’s the best bowler in the world here or anything

Get yourself in first before playing shots like that, Crawley made the same mistake which makes it even worse. With only Bracey and the tail to come could easily be out for under 200

This batting line up looks incapable of any kind of intent at the moment. Mixture of lack of form, inexperienced and complete blockers (Sibley).

Understandable to play to save the match first especially when you don't have stokes or butler but now they could be a bit more adventurous. This doesn't do anyone any good. Absolute borefest it has become.
