EPL Title race 2018/2019

Man. City will win about 4-0 at Brighton.

Have to say shows Man. City's quality that they've been 0-0 in their last three league games at half time and never looked in danger of not winning any of their games. When 1-0 up many teams would retreat to their 18 yard box and be smashing the ball up the park. Man. City just stroll around their only half. Fantastic mentality.

The bitterness of Liverpool fans on social media. Laughing at us finishing 6th and hoping City beat us the other week.

If they could have beat us back in Feb when we had to make 3 changes in the first half they would be in control of their own destiny.

The scousers have had every bounce of the ball during this title race and are still looking for excuses and having a dig at us!

This is right up there with 2012 in terms of title races. Unbelievable. Best league in the world and it really is not even close. They are so far ahead of any other league so entertaining.

Has to be better than 2012. Both Liverpool and Man City are on a 10 game winning streak and no title race has been this intense and closely fought between 2 very superior teams.

In 2012, we had an 8 point lead with 5 games remaining, and we collapsed miserably gifting the title to City. Drew with Everton 4-4, lost to Wigan and City.

I agree this is a better title race but nothing will beat that aguero finish I think.

That fecking strike. Christ.

Might order a fleshlight and keep that replay on repeat.

In terms of absolute thrill and drama sure.

Gosh, that was such a soul sucking day which I want to forget..
That goal also proved to be seminal for City's fortunes in hindsight.

We have fallen a long way since then haven't we.......

Come on mate it wasn't 8!

Try 6 which was enough of a throw away.
But then we only got to that position as city had a right old poor spell just before.

Depressing. I still remember the last 5 minutes of that game like it was yesterday and it still brings the same sickening feeling. As you said that moment is what changed that clubs fortunes around.

Only a very dense scouser was hoping city would beat us!

Surely the michael thomas goal for arsenal at anfield did.
I did not watch that happen so I might be being biased but I think the Aguero goal the way it happened 2 goals down the commentary and all just makes it the best ending to a season (or worst in Uniteds case) in EPL history.

2014 was a better title race (actually not saying it down to Liverpool being the ones slipping).

I prefer both teams having twists and turns e.g. dropping points rather than them winning all their games since Mid March. If both matches were played at the same time it would be very boring.

Thinking back to 1999 title race Arsenal and Man. United both dropped a fair few points in the run in I think (you had that 0-0 at relegated Blackburn near the end and Arsenal lost at Leeds) and 2010 and 2011 races were similar.

Before your time which is fair enough.
But you simply can't beat a last min goal in a last day face off between the two teams competing for the league.

That's impossible to beat ever.

The English PL is now just another LA Liga contested by two teams. So much for the most competitive league in the world.

Im about to go look that up on YouTube because I am curios to see it. Granted I probably would not feel what you felt watching it.

To think in the last 7 years United have still managed to win more trophies then Liverpool in there best spell in god knows how long:lol::wenger:

Brighton have scored 1 goal from open play in the last 8 matches..

Stranger things have happened before on final day, but surely City should win this one comfortably.

Easily the best and most entertaining league in the world and by some large distance too...

We're running out of games now. City haven't looked that great lately, but fair fecks to them. They have the quality to win anyway. Hard to imagine anything else than a City win at home to Brighton.

Steady, Liverpool finished 4th last year. Not winning it this season after being so close and so lucky will absolutely crush them.

It's at brighton.

It was indeed an 8 point lead. The draw with Everton made it 6 and they caught up with us after we lost to Wigan and City in the subsequent game weeks.

Yeah me too. I'm glad we had our short lived revenge by winning the next year's title, but that Aguero goal indeed was very pivotal to where City are today and we have a lot of catching up to do.

Yeah, that final game can't be beaten imo.. We were leading by three points and four +goals, only for Thomas to make it 0-2 at Anfield in 92nd minute to win the title for Arsenal with same points and goaldifference, but more scored goals.

Edit.
And you came 11th that season.. You really should have sacked that useless manager ;)
