At this point the only way to achieve some sort of rapprochement would be through deception. Yeah, it's very strange. But managers do strange things for players they don't favor anymore. Sir Alex ditched Stam, Beckham, and Ruud very quick before you knew it, just because he's out of favor with them. It went even to player he's been chasing for a while, like Berba.
