Pretty much, at that type of fee I don't even care if we already have a starting striker, the upsides are way too big to ignore.
Exactly. These are the type of the deals we should complete. Will give time and money for other positions.

Also for the rumoured release clause the pressure of transfer fee won't be much either.

People are genuinely comparing him to Lukaku, Haaland actually has a first touch that doesn’t bounce 5 miles away. He is also only 19 and arguably a much better finisher than Lukaku already.
Don’t get ahead of yourself

Lukaku is a decent goal scorer with a record to back him up both in top European leagues and on the international stage, Haaland whilst talented isn’t on Lukaku‘s level yet.

He scored 44 goals for us in 90 games whilst in a struggling united side, he’d probably get a hat trick every week in the Austrian league.

At 19 (2012-2013 season), Lukaku had 17goals and 7 assists in PL. Doubt Haaland can do that, but for 20mil it is a good deal.

According to some news, Dortmund is favorite to get him.

Lukaku’s record against top sides speaks for itself

Just like Lukaku ? Not from what I’ve seen. Haaland’s movement, mobility and technique is on a different level to the Lukaku that was at United. He looked very mobile for a big lad.
Didn’t Lukaku at the same age? I’m just confused with what we want.

Lukaku asked to leave back in March because he wanted to move to Italy.
Solskjaer also wanted to play him as a wide right target man and he didn’t want to play anywhere but down the middle.

Wasn’t much of a choice in the matter if you ask me
So is Haaland going to be our new right attacking target man?

I think long term Ole is going to have two strikers up front - Greenwood vs Haaland for the RF role since both are left footed and Martial vs Rashford for the RF position since both are right footed.

This is why the lack of game time thing doesn't bother me.

At the same time, Lukaku has never scored 8 goals in one season in the CL, leave alone just in the group stages.

Even at Inter, he failed in the competition.

The way I see this is that this is not a necessary signing but if he is available for 20m, this is a good signing. We still need 2 starting-xi quality players in the next 2 transfer windows.

Apparently Erling and Minimario64 didnt play for RB Salzburg today

#Bernede (shin), #Koita (abdominal muscle), #Haaland (abdominal muscle), #Kristensen (knee), #Hwang and #Minamino (both thighs) are not ready for use due to injury. #Farkas is still missing due to health problems.

Possibly? I think the plan is to have three forwards with different skill sets playing in the front line. The more fluid we are up top the more options the midfield have when getting the ball forward. If that's the plan for Haaland I'm not sure where Sancho fits in.

So if the rumours are true and Solskjaer did fly out to speak to him and his family this Friday, we've definitely had a bid accepted, which means this is much further along than most of the transfer rumours we hear about.

If the reports about his release clause are true then the bidding isn't even a hurdle. Salzburg have no say, and at that price I'd bet half a dozen clubs will have had a bid 'accepted'.

wtf does this even mean?
Think he's trying to say that Mino does whats best for the player but some CEO's don't like that. Hence players like him but some CEO's don't.

I'm not sure I buy it completely, as players might just like him cos he gets them more money over their career sometimes at the cost of their best footballing interests.

Yea I’ve spoken in the past about how he does what his clients want, I don’t really buy the idea that he leads them he just gets them great deals which is his job at the end of the day.

Seems to be breaking news to alot on the caf though, who absolutely hate the guy and fail to see the other side of the coin: he fecks with whoever he wants in club football as long as it gets the job done for him (money) and his clients who are bedazzled with him.

I bet you call your pudding dessert too! Are you a Southerner by any chance?
I call it a pudding if it’s actually a pudding. I wouldn’t call an ice cream “pudding” because why would you

Butty is just an awful cringey word. Everything else is a sandwich. Jam sandwich, cheese sandwich, so why is “butty” a thing? It’s not needed. It’s like calling a tree a tree, but when a bird sits on it, it’s suddenly a “tutty”.

He's clearly suffering from butterflies in the abdomen.

Our forward lineup next season could be pretty mouth-watering if all goes well. No more Lingard, Mata or Pereira.

Rashford - Martial - Sancho
James - Håland - Greenwood

Salzburg sporting director Christoph Freund today:

I hope that the most likely scenario is that he'll still play for us in the spring. We are talking to Erling a lot. He has also spoken to other clubs, which we allowed him to do.

It is a special situation and it has been a special few months with him. We are all very professional about it, we all want the best for Erling. It's not an easy decision. We'll see what the next days bring.

He's had a few injury problems over the last two or three months, small knocks and such. I believe he'd benefit from staying with us for another five months and play with us at a solid level. This is my conviction, and he knows that. I hope he shares it.
I translated that from German, I hope everything is clear and understandable. The way he's talking about stuff, I'm 100 percent sure that there indeed is a buyout clause. If there wasn't, he could just shut everything down and say "we won't sell him in January".

A pudding is something you have after your tea (the meal, not the drink) Doesn't matter what it is. Yep, jam, cheese ect, all makes a good butty. Tbh, where I'm from you would never hear the word sandwich, even in cafe's chippy's ect it'll be called a butty...unless its a posh place, then they will say "chips in a bap"

Funny you linked shit and tutty, thats actually urdu for shit....I think!

Back on topic. Haaland would be a great buy at 20million, even at 60million I think it'd be money well spent, but any more than that I'd be a little bit wary and think maybe there are other areas of the squad that could be addressed first. Still, it'd be a real shame to miss out on the lad.

Excited by this one can see him hitting the ground running then a dip and then being a great option off the bench for years to come, kind of chicarito
