James Vowles confirmed that Williams had met with Adrian Newey.

However, he stated that the talks were still "at the first level" and superficial.

He is waiting for them to meet again.

Italian sources say he is in final stages with Ferrari.

We dont know if he actually had to negotiate that. There might have been some kind of 'no naughty horners' release clause. Or just goodwill from having been there for 19 years.

For example, the front suspension changed significantly"

Acording to foa documents everything is new on the car

Front wing, front suspension, front corner, floor body, sidepod inlet, coke/engine cover, cooling louvres, rear suspension, rear corner and beam wing.

Hopefully McLaren can keep pace with Ferrari this season.

See how fecking boring F1 can really get when there's not even a 2nd vs 3rd fastest battle going on. Ferrari vs Mercedes was at least a bit compelling.

It’s widely reported about the gardening leave and we can talk with confidence that they would have had to negotiate an individual like Newey, in an area like technical development, would have that in his contract. Just like Fallows and Prodromou had when they left.

Having been on a period of gardening leave myself before, the only time you’re ever concerned about exiting a business and that clause in your contract being an issue is when you’re moving to a competitor.

So similar to last season albeit earlier in the season when they introduced the actual car for the season having started the season with a not fully completed car to their requirements.

Hopefully they can get closer to the RedBulls this weekend.

These certainly sound like a pretty comprehensive update. Which in some respects is a bit of a surprise given it isn't that long since the start of the season.

I just wanted to commentate how ridiculous is that they are allowed to slow down immediately on the straight after setting a lap and then Bottas does that. Amateur stuff.

Wonder if Max will be lining up a Ferrari seat for when Hamilton leaves (isn't it a 1 year contract?) especially if AN does go there. Stay at RB next year then move to Ferrari the year after

Williams would have been really interesting - once title winning team fallen off a cliff like United, would be the ultimate achievement to bring them back to winning titles, but they don't have the budget to be able to work with what designs he'd come up with so feels zero chance of that

May be he just appreciated the compliment from Lewis when sky interviewed him earlier but he had a massive smirk on his face when talking about Ferrari. Shame they didn't ask him if the CH decisions forced his hand to leave but it's probably all embargoed and no one is allowed to ask about it

It'll be interesting to see how Lewis does in Ferrari next season - do we think he's lost that extra edge he used to have, or is it a combination of shocking car and he's just going through the motions?

Has the potential to be a banana skin for him next season.

Can already see how downbeat he is with a faster team mate in an uncompetitive car. If Ferrari are still off the pace of RB next season, and he has a different but still faster team mate, I dont see it being much different to this season.

The car is a dog, it will show in one session it has some potential, then in the next its back to shit. They seem to spend to much time messing with the set up and its not working.

Max makes an error and still purple every sector. Sigh.

Perez seems to have got going too, it's pretty much gonna be RB 1-2 all season isn't it, bar maybe the odd Ferrari splitting them

Disappointing Q3 from Lando

Like people have said the off track is so much more interesting

Very sterile track too, no perils of gravel etc

It's really difficult to understand how Perez can't be quicker than Max even when he makes mistake. I mean, how is it possible? He is a fecking professional racing driver, at least one time out of ten you are supposed to have some luck when your teammate makes a mistake, mind boggling.

And it's not like he is driving bad, he is not making any mistakes, his racing and breaking lines seem more than good, he is not inconsistent driver.

Norris explains what went wrong in SQ3
Lando Norris looked like he was going to be in the fight for pole in the Miami GP Sprint but it all went wrong in SQ3 as he could only qualify in ninth:
"I just pushed too hard. The car was feeling very good. Just silly to be honest.
"A couple of mistakes in Turn One and it was a big spiral from there.
"A shame because the team have done a good job. The upgrades are working. I'm happy with everything.
"The pace is very good. Probably one of the quickest. Disappointed with today but I will do my best tomorrow."
