What’s your preference this season, if you had to choose? Beating City in Wembley ? Or securing CL football next season?
With City a cert to win the prem, and, much as I hate to admit, likely to beat us in the Cup Final, 5th place in the prem will be enough to qualify, but I hope we can finish higher, maybe even 3rd and of course stuff city at Wembley!

Top 4 for me. I can't stand the thought of EL football again next season. Plus, if we bottle top 4, we almost certainly lose out to the Scousers.

A last minute winner against Man City at Wembley, and I'd be more than comfortable finishing 6th.

Top 4. Critical for the clubs future success and a catalyst to improve the squad. We have already won a domestic trophy this season too.

Top 4, this is going to be a vital summer, presumably getting new owners in, Newcastle are going to spend big once they've got champions league football, Chelsea won't keep getting it wrong and Liverpool are likely going to reinforce, whether its Jim or Jassim, the last thing we need is to be handicapped with a lack of champions league football

5th place will be enough to qualify for what?

 to me it's the exact opposite. It's the top 4 trophy crowd which are worse. We've done fine in the market with CL football, numerous times, and we will this summer, owner situation depending.

Man Utd doesn't die if we don't get top 4 this season.
We’ve been dying mate, every top club needs cl footy
We are a meme playing on Thursdays

FA Cup, specially since its against City and it's potentially stopping their treble. Also top 4 and UCL next year is mainly for revenue as we dont have a chance in hell of actually winning it.
and signing top talent
And stopping Liverpool getting cl and said top talent

If you were Barcelona I would say top 4 because we really need the money, but for Premier League sides money is not a problem so I think the trophy. Unless you reach at least semi finals in 10 years time nobody will even remember if you played the Champions League or not.

Beating the "mighty" Citeh in the biggest cup in England... yup.

Although it'd be a double edge sword. If we fail to make top 4 that means the dippers nick it. Either way a rival is topping us in something important. Plus Thursday European nights SUCK!

Maybe I'm talking myself into 4th and CL next year.

Flip a coin

I've flipped the coin. It's in the air. What do you wish to see on the coin side up?

It's not just a question of finances, but image too. Being out of the CL for so long will eventually have an effect on our image, marketing possibilities, fanbases, etc... You just can't sell the whole we're a big club shtick if you barely play in the CL. We need that top 4 finish.

Another win in a domestic cup would be fun, but bottling top 4 and see Liverpool play CL next year while we travel to Spain every other thursday to play EL is a scary thought. Top 4 easily for me.

Give me the FA Cup. If Ten Hag is the real deal, he will get us into top 4 next year with 1-2 decent signings this summer.

FA Cup by a distance.
I wish we could just refuse to play in the Europa league.

Both!!!

We're Man United and there shouldn't be a choice between these two.

Surprisingly I've seen City fans saying they'd rather win the FA cup than the Champions league

The league is and will always be the priority. Jose won trophies, Louie won a trophy and it did f**k all to save their job. My stance has never changed, cup games are for rotation and young players unless you make a real deep run into a competition. If we get knocked out I don't care.

The Glazers care about CL. Regular fans want trophies. That's why the Glazers were the ones who sacked LVG after he won the cup. What do you personally want since you are not in charge of sacking managers ... unless you are?

FA cup. Two trophies in a season will mean so much.

If we lose out on top 4 just do what arsenal did and invest on young hungry players. It might benefit benefit us in the long run. Obviously I still want top 4 badly

Isn’t it a tad overrated though? Arsenal build a fine squad through spreading its money over a large number of young players. That approach can work too and they didn’t have a top 4 to show for it along the way, even once.

FA cup for multiple reasons.

- winning 2 cup trophies in one season is huge
- stop City from winning treble
- we are not going to challenge CL anytime soon anyway, just invested in younger player this summer

Let's do that in any case.
I would agree but I think our squad building being a mishmash doesn’t help. With Varane, Bruno, now Casemiro and our general impatience, I don’t know if ETH can (or wants to) do a slow rebuild.

All a City win does is release a Europa league spot back to the league for 6th place. We either finish top 4 and play in the CL, 5th or 6th get's Europa league. The europa cone spot we presently hold for winning the league cup would be released to 7th or 8th in the league.

To answer the question, I'd take top 4. I know it's not glamorous but we've already won a trophy this year and we need the income and status that CL football brings. If we hadn't already won the league cup I'd have gone the other way.

Top 4. We need CL money. Without it our progess will stagnate.

Unfortunately, there's always a risk the treble will be matched in the future. A quadruple isn't even impossible with City's strength in depth.

FA Cup. I would rather win a trophy now than the small chance to win one next season.

Although losing Top 4 would be more disappointing because of the position we were in.
Yeah man. We wanna pull in top players. They all go crazy for champions league. Most likely cause they get to leave England more! Just kidding. Top cup is attractive for sure

there is a 33% increase in the CL prizes next year. It will make a huge difference for us to get into the CL to make a good transfer window.

With the whole new ownership still not defined I dont think we're going to spend big, regardless of UCL or not.
Doesn’t matter, you still need to present an attractive offer to the player
The player isn’t arsed about their signing fee, the top talent want champions league
If we go in to get a player against arsenal Liverpool Newcastle, and we’re in the EL, we’d be signing the left overs

the club not being in the top 4 is a further step back
The goal was top 4, cups are a bonus. The FA would be a consolation prize and nothing more, CL progress the club

FA Cup for me, no contest whatsoever. In a few years' time you will barely remember finishing top 4. Beating City in a final will be something we remember for the rest of our lives.

We're in a City or Liverpool nightmare unless we win the cup and progress to the Champions League.

We need the Champions League money and prestige to tempt quality players to join. It would be pretty gut-wrenching if we lost to City handing them the treble. I'll probably forget the FA loss once the new season starts. However, not being in the Champions League will hurt for a lot longer once the new season kicks off letting Liverpool sneak past us.

The Champions League just shades it for me.
