Step one in the dream of ridding these frauds from Old Trafford. Mourinho next.
Tiki taka shouldn't be the aim but Fellaini leaving is a start if we want the style to improve. He can be a good player but it seems for Mourinho having him as an option is too big a temptation to play ineffective hoofball when we are chasing games.

Great news.

The caf can concentrate it's vitriol in other threads.

AC Milan... Not a bad club to exit to. It’s honestly best for all parties for him to leave and I can’t wait. No hate for the guy, but he’s just too associated with our downfall. He is THE Moyes signing.

Also I don’t really think that Mourinho rates him that highly. My guess is that he talked him up in order to get clubs interested and pay a decent fee. I could be wrong though.

Is he gone yet? Please somebody hire charter plane and drop him in Milan pronto. You can later reclaim the fee from fellow caf members. Many will contribute gladly.

I'll remember the day it's announced like I remember the day Moyes left.

You'll all rue the fact we don't have him next season.
Not if we buy a target man this summer for cheap. If we don't replace Fellaini's 'presence', then we probably will regret it since Jose is clueless otherwise.

No header at the back post = no goals.

I'm not against signing Andy Carroll if its what Jose needs as a Plan B (A).

No fee involved from our end.

Someone pinch me because I must be dreaming - I don't see any white text.
:lol::lol:

It's ridiculous but if the boss needs a big man up front to have some sort of attacking threat, I'd rather he get a specialist.

That's all it is.

The mediocrity at United in recent years stems from stuff like this. He's okay but they need better surely. A new contract would be ridiculous.

It's quite disturbing that of the male United fans on the forum given the choice between waking up tomorrow having the ability to do what cats, and some dogs can do(think about it), or being able to fly Fellaini over Italy(other Countries are available) and pushing him out(with or without a parachute), 95% would chose the latter

Just me who finds this hate aimed his way distasteful?

I could understand it if he had wronged the club in some way, but he's seemingly hated because he's seen as the anti-thesis to free flowing attacking football. If he had been available yesterday, there's every chance he could have made a difference in the last 20 minutes. Would it have been pretty? No. But if you think getting rid of Fellaini will solve that problem, you're kidding yourselves.
Mmm yup, have to agree. Nothing will change next season, our football won't be better, we just wont have the option of going long.. annnd we saw how that worked out yesterday.

Excellent news, I have personally nothing against Fellaini and even liked him but as long as he is here, Mourinho will always opt for the boring percentage football and long ball tactics against any half decent opposition or against a mid table resolute defence.

Somehow I just don’t see us losing Fellaini stopping that. If anything I think we will only build a team more proficient at it.

Plenty of clubs manage without having to hoof it a tall lamppost upfront, may be Mourinho should opt those tactics instead of copying from Allardyce and Pulis.

Was a fan of his for a while. Gonna miss him at the back post but been ready to move on for a bit now.

I’m not really sure what he was. I guess he was a ball winning DM at times and others a box-to-box target man. It’s bizarre how he was trusted by three managers but always seemed kinda stopgap on the pitch. I’m not quite sure what to make of him even after a full contract here.

I liked him as a squad player, but always felt mixed about him. Like a lot of folks that were someone keen on him, the contract negotiations did me in. A couple of months ago I decided I’d much rather take a punt in a young central midfielder for the future than what Fellaini was and would have to offer for a season or two.

Do you think Mourinho's going to employ different tactics to what we've seen the last 2 years without Fellaini next season?

I would personally keep him. It is good to have an impact striker on our bench when plan A needs a different target forward.

Edit..nevermind, we could get Andy Carole and he could do that

I’m genuinely starting to wonder if Mourinho has an ulterior motive and is using the Fellaini situation for some other reason. He's been here for 2 years and knows damn well what Fellaini is all about, yet when everyone was fit this season, his precious Fellaini didn't get into the team as a starter. Now that we're on the verge of losing him, he's absolutely crucial to everything apparently. Plus he's absolutely gushing over Fellaini. Fellaini. I can understand Messi or De Gea, but a limited Plan B? No one can be that enamored with a squad player at best.

I personally think he's not getting near the budget he wants or every player he wants and he's making it seem like he's going into the season at a disadvantage because Fellaini wasn't replaced.

I think the club and Jose needs to move on from him. It’s a bit sad that Jose is so determined for him to stay.
