His negatives will always outweigh his positives here. Best for everyone if he moves on.

Yeah. Fellaini as a plan B is no better than just throwing Smalling forward in last few minutes.
I think that this is a bit unfair...He’s far more dangerous in the final third than Smalling, but a club like ours shouldn’t be using such anti-diluvian methods to nick a goal....If we want to go direct than let’s just lump it forward to Lukaku for Christ’s sake, the mans a beast....

Resigning him and then offloading the likes of Martial and Mata would be such a Mourinho flex. Ugh.
"Anyone that's doesn't want to be here can leave...except Fellaini"

There's no doubt he's been unfairly treated but it's time to part ways.

almost every game and the finals.
So Fellaini was successfully used as a plan B and saved points in almost every game last season? Even in games we were never behind in, are we talking about the same thing here mate?

Our recollections of last season (16-17) seem very different. Off the top of my head i can remember one game where him being used as a plan B worked, at home to Anderlect in the Europa League when he got an assist for Rashford.

This is so tense. Just days to go. Hoping every day he doesn't sign a new contract.

Although considering the way we signed him days after his release clause ended, we'll probably re-sign him after he leaves

I always felt our plan B back in the day was bringing on a poacher like Ole, and drilling balls into the box.

This hit and hope tactic that occasionally works never filled me with a lot of confidence.

I'd be happy to have player that offered a plan B, but I really hope that player isn't the big Fella.
Ole was a impact sub, we had Cole, Yorke and Ted.

That's how I remember us playing - don't know when or why it changed.
And therein is the problem, we had RVN afterwards, and a whole host of other world class players. The change, is (imo quite simply) other teams raising their game, the quality and discipline SAF had with his signings and hairdryer treatment.

The blood, sweat and tears. Each and every united player would spill under him.

And the dross, the likes of Fellaini, Martial and the likes, serves up every week.

The meltdown if he signs will be immense.
Nowhere near as hilarious as when Welbeck (the new Henry) went to Arsenal. Those years of meltdowns were, and still are, comedy gold.

On Fellaini, think his time here is up and it’s best if he leaves. Never a player I’ve taken to but he’s had some good games. Overall, I feel he got way too much time with us and a 6th season here would just be silly.

Oh he should leave alright as he isn't good enough. I'll admit though that It's funny when people lose their minds on a football forum.

Yeah agreed although I would rather he left that witness some hilarious meltdowns. If he stays I’ll accept it and I’m sure he won’t feature all too much.

He had a hand in Mata's equalizer in the FA Cup final fair enough mate, but that was 2 years ago not last season.

We were never behind in the Europa final, so he wasn't even used as a plan B in that game.

So thats one game which is very different than almost every game.

Final I mean plan B from the start as we didn't have better midfielders. I am saying plan B does work with him and has worked. Now if you think we no longer need that, that's fair but don't deny that he ever was used successfully.

I'm not denying anything mate, i accept Fellaini has had good runs and a fair amount of good games for United and contributed to United winning cups. But i don't understand how you can be a plan B from the start?

Surely he plays differently in the vast majority of game which he starts compared to when he's either brought on or already on and moved up into the box to hoof balls up to. In that role is where i have a problem with Fellaini, it's just not effective and never has been outside of a few occasions over his 5 years here.

Just as a player i think he's good and can be effective in the right set-up. But as a means to turn games around it's the opposite, he's just not effective and in my opinion he has became a crutch that both Van Gaal and Mourinho turn to when we are chasing a game. They've both used him as a short cut to try to turn games around, we have seen when Fellaini is not available we have been more successful last season at turning games around from losing positions.

I'm a little annoyed the club has made is clear they'd like him to stay, he's clearly been running his contract down for months.

He's been fecking useless for years, a massive mistake, why didn't they take the opportunity to make him aware they couldn't care less if he moved on. He's done five years, his fee has been earned in some way or form.

Has he signed for a top club yet? Player of such statue should surely get a good transfer this summer considering he is free, after all, he has proved to be such a good player for us.

Fellaini wants to be a starter and its never happening here so he wont sign.
According to the press he was on £80,000 a week, and was offered around £100-£110,000 a week for another 12 months, depending what paper you read and wanted £125-£170,000 a week, and a 3 year contract, as i said depending what paper you read.

Maybe he expects to do a "Hal Robson-Kanu" tournament and sign one last good contract in a decent team.

it seems like the main offer he has is the one at United

very hard to see anyone else willing to match the wages we've offered unless a team like West Ham had a punt with money to spend

can't see a European team allocating that kind of money

They don't necessarily have to, as long as they offer him a 3-4 years deal as opposed to the 12 months United are offering.

Hope he fecks off.

It was bad enough when Hazard and Griezmann did this, let alone him.
