Gaming Football Manager 2015

Nice, great signing for teams like Hull. Will see how useful he is for United :)

After one year of my Villareal save, United have sacked Van Gaal, sacked Valverde who took over, then sacked him after 12 games and have hired Gary Monk.

I wanted to do a United save again but now we're nearing the end of the season I want to start from about now time. So I holidayed until the end of this season and took over as United manager. I added new managers to any clubs that we bought players from in Jan (luckily only two) and sold them back so it would be exactly as our squad is now. We finished 4th so we got CL football.

I sold a lot of players and brought in Depay, Bale, Luka Jovic, Tielemans and Stones (Everton got relegated first season). My defence is shocking and Rooney has been crap, but here is the table after 29 games.

I won the League Cup after knocking out Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea on the way and beating City in the final. Nearly reached an FA Cup semi against Hull but Chelsea equalised last minute at OT so we're going to a replay at SB.

Priorities in the summer are a world class CB and striker. Also more depth in midfield.

I converted Depay to a striker, he's not fully developed in the position yet but he's now world player of the year........not bad.

Nice. He's got 22 goals from the left wing for me so far.

I had no idea you could attend other team's matches. Arsenal dropped points so we'll now be joint top if they win their next game... against Chelsea who are third. It's perfect for me really. I'm sitting in the stands watching like an evil overlord.

Arsenal won 3 - 2 and I left on 86 minutes to avoid imaginary traffic. I'm so sad.

Depay does score from any position doesn't he. First season he was still developing the position and scored 38 in 30 but my current season in February he's got 30 in 34 but he also has 31 assists.

Paired him with Lacazette with Berahino as backup, sold Rooney to Chelsea. Can't be stopped.

I'm almost convinced he'd get 15-20 a season as a goalkeeper.

I sold van Persie to Arsenal and he's second top scorer in the league. Glad he's off the wage budget though.

Board have set my initial budget at £96m for the next season.

It gets so easy so quickly at United :(

Yeah it's still really easy to become dominant with a top team, have to set your own rules to keep it interesting. I keep a United save to load up when I feel like decimating everyone for a bit.

I'm in my second season in a joint save with my friend, he's Citeh, I'm United. Lost 4-1 in the community shield to him, then beat him 3-2 in the league, Chelsea 6-2, and best of all, 'Pool 7-1.

Arsenal dropped points away to Palace, the silly bastards. I expected to maybe finish 2nd or 3rd but I'll probably win it now.

Also, Madrid, Bayern, Chelsea and PSG all went out in the last 16 of the CL. I faced Sparta Prague and just got past Marseille. I've got Atletico in the semi and if I beat them I'm in the final against one of Barca or Juve.

It's come down to the last game. I'm top on 85 points, Arsenal second on 84. They've got 20th placed Wigan at home and I'm away to Hull who are 12th.

Was knocked out of the CL on away goals by Atletico.

Boom. Januzaj, Mata and Depay all scored in a 3 - 0 win. Time to sort out my dodgy defence in the summer so I don't concede 3 away goals the next time I reach a CL Semi.

I spunked my entire summer budget on Otamendi and Pogba

Otamendi £28m rising to £30m
Pogba £77m rising to £88m

Only 45 assists, must do better.
Hate to say it but those kind of stats indicate that the game is broken. Depay as a player has been made TOO effective. I played against Barca in the Champs League the other night and whilst nobody could actually tackle Messi, he doesn't contribute to 100 goals a season.

That's insane. Where do you play him?

At the very top as an advanced forward in a 3-4-1-2.

First season I had him in the same role and I did rotate him a bit but he only had 11 assists, haven't changed anything tactically so not sure what spiked his assists rate that high.

Takes Depay a while to adapt I think, he always starts really slowly for me whenever I sign him but then kicks on in the second season.

Finally got round to getting this today. So far I've played 14 games with United - winning 10 and drawing 4. Am I the best manager ever or is it just dead easy this year?

Dead easy, unfortunately. As @Leg-End said above, you really have to set your own restrictions for it to stay interesting long-term. I'm playing much more PES than FM this year because of that (not that PES is difficult either...) :/

I signed Aaron Creswell as a backup left-back. He's made 3 sub appearances and scored a goal every time, plus one assist.

Dead easy. Beat PSG 8-0 in the semi final of the Champions league and then spanked Real Madrid 7-1. I went back to FM14 because of it.

Taken Newcastle to CL glory in my second and third season.

Wasn't paying much attention to FFP and went over slightly and can't sign anyone for a year...

What's even more annoying is players asking for contract renewals when they know full well I can't, well done FM.

Season fell apart at the end. Lost COC final against Arsenal, knocked out of the FA Cup by fecking Arsenal, knocked out of Champions League quarters by Bayern, drew and lost final two games in the league to finish third.

You mean it's even easier than 14? I haven't played 15 yet, but on my current FM14 save I'm 8 seasons in, and these last 4 have been ridiculous. Champions with +- 100 points and over 100 goals scored each year and reached the CL final every time, winning 3. How much easier can it get?

I achieved that in my first season with Sevilla.

The amount of shots my team has in a game was ridiculous. Was probably averaging 25 shots per game.

FM in general gets easier as you progress due to the poor AI transfers. But FM15 is just easy from the get go.

As someone who usually plays long term games, this has been my gripe for years. A big reason why I've skipped this season's edition. Amongst other complains, I'm sick of AI managers buying very young players due to their Potential Ability (PA) and subsequently not play them ahead of established but aging players due to their low Current Ability (CA).

This is a big problem with the FM series at the moment. You can normally count on one hand the number of good transfers that other teams in the same league have made each season.
Liverpool in particular in my saves have a shockingly bad transfer record (in that they spend fortunes on players, then either don't play them or play them just a couple of times before selling at a huge loss).
I always want to do a 10 season save game but unless you start right at the bottom of the leagues then by the time you're a few seasons in there's nobody left to buy (apart from the odd regen) and you're winning everything every season.

Yeah true, I didn't have it all my own way those first few seasons. Have to say I'm even less inclined to pick up this year's version after hearing this. Might be the first edition I skip since about 10 years.

After saying it was too easy I ended up losing in both the FA Cup and Capital One Cup finals. Won the league though, 5 points ahead of Arsenal in 2nd.

Has anybody got any recommendations for a longer, more enjoyable save? I'm thinking about starting in League 1/2.
