He was good against City, and he was also good against Newcastle yet cost us the goal. He was terrible against Watford as all the team was.He was brilliant against City. They play football. Real good football too.

Bollocks. He's been superbThe café in a nutshell. Everyone is either rubbish or superb!
Fred is much improved, but a long way off superb!
You've said it in your last sentence but this is a very myopic view of his game. You're expecting one of your two deepest lying midfielders to do the job of the 10/playmakers.He has had some decent performances in the last few weeks and he brings a lot of energy into the team but his just very bad offensively. His vision is not great at the best of times and his decision making in the final third, delivery and shooting are just not good at all. It probably looks even worse when he's paired with any number 10 that's as bad as out options are but even so, he should do so much better.
You have to feel for the guy. Being asked to work alongside Matic and Lingard in a midfield three is enough to give you nightmares. I stuck to his task all the same.Thought he was excellent today. Shame the rest of the team couldn't step up, but he looked like he was alone out there at all ends of the pitch.
I thought Matic was decent too, but he was very poor in the first half which I think may have jilted some peoples' views.I thought him and Matic both had a similar game today, aaand we all call out matic for being on a decline.
What? Fred looked class today. He wasn’t probably our best player, he was clearly so. He was the only player today that consistently looked like he could compete at that level against Liverpool. Fred is an answer for us in midfield. We need to surround him with other players that can play to his standard and we will be fine. This was easily his worst game for quite a while, but he was still probably our best player.
This is an absolutely awful take. It’s these types of posts that make me actually feel sympathy for players and management. Not really sure how one could reasonably arrive at this type of conclusion from watching the game. Fred was strong in defensive support, moved the ball effectively, created chances going forward and held off Liverpool players. He was incredibly strong on the ball. Frankly, given the competition level today, and the lack of ability around him, this is arguably his best game in a United uniform.Thought he was rubbish today and am completely surprised by the praise he is getting.
That post (and the other you replied to) was from the Arsenal game a few weeks ago, not this one. What? Fred looked class today. He wasn’t probably our best player, he was clearly so. Ahhhhh! Totally missed that. Sorry about the confusion. Was wondering, because I thought Fred was really good today. Seems to really be gaining in confidence. That post (and the other you replied to) was from the Arsenal game a few weeks ago, not this one.
Yeh, he's turning into a key player for us. Really happy for him!Fred is immense and brings so much speed, mobility and structure in our game. We would be absolute garbage without him and I do not want to imagine our league position. People who still can not appreciate having him on the pitch should really ask themself question who could possibly do a better job. Looking at the last two months I seriously doubt there was a better CM in the PL besides De Bruyne and maybe Kante.
He was key to having spells of control on the game yesterday so not sure what you mean.Works really hard - but not entirely sure what he does.
He can play some nice through balls at times, but can't control a midfield. I don't think he/d get into any of the sides above us in the league.
We could of been 5-0 down by half time.He was key to having spells of control on the game yesterday so not sure what you mean.
I think he'd have earned his keep in a Fergie squad, for me he's better than Anderson for a start. I know once you start making excuses for United players these days you'd never stop but I think he proved in the second half he can perform well when his teammates are showing for the ball, moving with purpose and passing properly. In the first half Fred had too many fires to put out to get us on the front foot.He isn't that good and gives the ball away in dangerous areas, better than the other dross but he is being overrated. Squad player in a proper United side
He's a 2009 Darren Fletcher, basically. As Sir Alex said about Tevez, everyone likes a trier. Fred has so much effort that people look over some of the weak points
Except Fletcher was like Ander, we could count on him to be one of our best players in every big match. He's a 2009 Darren Fletcher, basically.
Squad player at best. The shot from the edge of the box second half was total rubbish, it depends on the standards to which he is evaluated. First half he gave the ball away in our own half a few timesI think he'd have earned his keep in a Fergie squad, for me he's better than Anderson for a start.
