Depends on what this really means. Would he rather stay at barca but is open to moving to united if he is forced out? I think that's fine personally. The question is , do we want a player that does not want to play for us ?
Would be great to see, at the very least! Unfortunately I think they’ll (with our involvement in some capacity) come to a compromise at some point and Barcelona will get away with it. Lever pulling wankersSpanish employment law tends to favour the employee though and whilst I agree it will take time, it's going to be pretty hard for Barcelona to argue they don't owe him deferred wages. They're just playing poker and hoping he agrees to a compromise, because they have nothing to lose.
Personally, I think the strong stance De Jong is taking shows very much him and his team will be happy to litigate if it comes to it.
Your not being serious are you? if you were owed €17milllion, would you just walk away from that or compromise? Nah, feck Barcelona, get every euro your owed by the club. Screw up their summer transfer window if you have to. Just get paid.If I were in his position, I'll sit down with the club, negotiate the best possible deal regarding the deferred wages and then go.
He could just stay but they'll make him the bad guy in the eyes of the fans, put in on the bench and frustrate him. For a young player entering his prime he should put football first I know its difficult but Laporta board wouldn't take all the loses for Bartomeu sins, De jong should seek a compromise and move on.
If my work owed me £100 I'd be fecking chasing that cheddar until my dying breath.Your not being serious are you? if you were owed €17milllion, would you just walk away from that or compromise? Bringing it to some semblance of reality who would leave their workplace and go to another job if they were owed £170,000 by your current employer? No one would walk away without getting every penny.
Feck football. Get paid.
Exactly, it's not like he is going to retire from football if Barca force him out.Depends on what this really means. Would he rather stay at barca but is open to moving to united if he is forced out? I think that's fine personally.
Pogbas new tattoo.Feck football. Get paid.
**sigh**The question is , do we want a player that does not want to play for us ?
Yeah screw Barca by becoming their Bale or Aubameyang except you're just 25.Your not being serious are you? if you were owed €17milllion, would you just walk away from that or compromise? You should get yourself over to Coopers hill with that kind of cheese commitment. If my work owed me £100 I'd be fecking chasing that cheddar until my dying breath.
'Take a pay cut whilst we spunk 70m on a new player from Leeds'
Barce are a complete mess.
Manchester or Alabama?I’ve just arrived in Manchester. Will keep a look out for large white sheets.
Manchester or Alabama?
Yes, like we saw with Ous in last winter, when he became the most important player during seasons second half...he will never play another minute again if he refuses to leave. They’ll make the rest of his contract as miserable as possible.
It really is in his best interests to take the hint he’s no longer wanted and move on.
Right so you think that Barca, instead of paying him ~€17m in deferred wages and getting about £65m in transfer fee plus moving ~€70m off their books in wages would rather try and scapegoat Frenkie and not play him again whilst still being 100% on the hook for all his wages and probably a fair number of bonuses for the next 4 years.Yes in your make believe fairytale world it would be seen as it is in reality especially in the tribal world of football he would be the villain.
People literally turn away from mass murder and human rights abuses when there football team is winning trophies….. but poor frenkie de jong is a step too far.
I don’t think they could, they don’t have the wiggle room in their wage budget, especially if Frenkie doesn’t agree to a pay cut (and he shouldn’t)Are Barca still hoping to find enough levers to pull so that they can sign Raphinha and Lewa without selling De Jong?
fair enough, maybe I deserved that.**sigh**
Fingers crossed. At this rate their absolute financial ruin seems a near certainty. In addition to Raphinha they are almost certain to get Lewandowski and Kounde, could barely register or pay players, can't pay what FDJ, Busquets and Pique are owed. The decision making there is absolute madness.
He'd fit in quite well at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium too.You should get yourself over to Coopers hill with that kind of cheese commitment.

I think they need him to accept the wage cut if he’s staying which apparently he has no intention of doing. Are Barca still hoping to find enough levers to pull so that they can sign Raphinha and Lewa without selling De Jong?
He said the same thing last night, posting it off as new news.Tweet

Well that sucks
It seems as though they are taking this stance to ensure FDJ gets paid the money he is owed.Tweet

Aren’t they in amsterdam now? Or is that tomorrowHe said the same thing last night, posting it off as new news.
Funny how he's the only one to know this, but Uniteds top brass are still in Barcelona sorting this out.
But because it's Romano, people will believe it as truth and meltdown will occur soon
Aubameyang on 400k euros a week too, and Lewandowski will therefore surely be on 500k. Moving negligently at this point.Fingers crossed.
