Pretty much any GoT video on Youtube is full of people fighting over spoilers.

I think so. Season 3 and 4 will both cover the third book.

Is it 10 episodes again?

I want moar!

Yes 10 episodes but apparently each episode lasts a few minutes longer and ultimately there will be 50-60 more minutes of action this season compared to season 2.

I got a 15 quid Amazon voucher and got the 1st series on DVD. I haven't watched it yet. I have usually been underwhelmed by HBO series though I loved Deadwood. Is this a good one?

Oh yes. Truly excellent.

I'd say that this and Breaking Bad were my favorite TV ever.

The worst thing will be trying to wait until all episodes are out to get to see them in one sitting. I know I'll never make it, and I'll be on them minutes after they've aired in the US, but at least I tried.

Been looking forward to this since the minute the last season ended I cant wait.

Yeah, same. Read all five of the books in mean time too, so now I'm waiting for the next book as well.

I did the same. Second season ended and I had to read all the books then.

First series was outstanding. Second one suffered (imo) from moving away a bit too far from the book at times. I hope they keep it as tight to the book as possible and don't change things for the sake of it.

I'm seriously thinking about waiting until the end of the season and then watch the whole thing. Would be really hard to resist though.

That's the only way I can watch it. I hate waiting a week between episodes.

I've not read the books, but season 2 of the show was very underwhelming. If you think through each character, practically nothing happened with most of them or did so at a snail's pace - the story barely moved from where we left it at the end of season 1. Some characters could almost be described as having had a season's worth of "filler" scenes just to keep them involved.

I guess in part it's down to the sheer number of characters they have to cover, but the battle for King's Landing aside, the majority of season 2 had no real consequence. Hopefully season 3 kicks back into the gear of season 1.

Funny, I liked the second season more for the same reason you disliked it. The changes they made from the book were the bits I enjoyed as they were the bits I wasn't expecting. If I wanted the story as it is in the book I'd read the book, I like that they're not afraid to change things around if they think their way works better on TV. It can sometimes be a bad idea to stay too faithfull to a book when adapting it for film/tv.

Season two definitely wasn't as good.

I don't know why the show always sees the need to have so many prolonged convserations between two characters. Seriously, there are times when there's literally just two characters sitting there for around ten minutes talking, and it ends up boring the shit out of me. It's like the writers envisage around six scenes per episode and decide they all have to be really long.

Well only so much action happens in each season so they have to fill the time with something. Plus long conversations are cheaper and easier to film than action sequences.

Mine too, and ironically enough I only watched them both for the first time in the last couple of months so looking forward to both of these this year.

You say that but I always find books to be better. I say that but I've only really read Godfather, oh and Harry Potter. But there was more info and I learned more about the story in the books.

Anyway, back to the series, I enjoyed both series equally I'd say. In fact I enjoyed the second series moreso for the little lannister Tyrion. He's ones f my favourite characters in tv, when he took charge to defend the land was brilliant.

Cant fecking wait. Especially now since Suits is almost over as well. White Collar and Walking Dead will also be done in March I think.

The trailer looks epic

I hope they don't spend a lot of time on pointless crap like the Qarth story from last season.

Joffrey looks like he's taking cuntishness onto a new level.

If this is done right, it will be much better than the first two seasons (especially the second one).
