Good game, very fast paced. Should have had a couple goals already. The best final of the day so far.

I recall some wanting Ochoa to United a while back. Never saw why. He's so average and prone to gaffs.

Cannon causes some havoc on the right flank. Like the look of this kid.

Mexico switching to a back 3 basically and using the fullbacks in midfield to create numerical advantages. Bad final ball though

That looked fecking horrid. And by far the best player on the pitch so far.

Jozy's fitness is now becoming a burden on the U.S. After a bright start, he's started to fade away and is becoming less active in the U.S.'s attacks. On the recent U.S. counters, he'd take up one position and stay there, rendering him useless. Berhalter has a dilemma on his hand as he has to consider the trade-off between Jozy's hold-up play and the U.S.'s potency on the counter.

The referee is clearly quite reluctant to send players off or throw out cards. At some point, however, he has to stamp his authority and dish out a card for an obvious infringement.

Pizzaro's influence is growing in the match. The U.S. midfield is starting to have a tougher time containing him. That'll only make them drop deeper and be more reluctant to push up.

The Mexican midfield keep pulling Bradley and Ream away from the middle. They've realised that McKennie isn't a good player, defensively, so they have a chance to exploit his weakness. Pizzaro, Luis Rodriguez, and Antuna are creating so many openings on the U.S.'s left side. Bradley keeps pulling out there to follow Pizzaro, but McKennie isn't filling the gaps that are being opened in the middle. Long also needs to pull out a bit more instead of remaining so central. Mexico could have easily had a goal had they taken their chances.

Well, that was inevitable. Pizzaro on the inside right pulling Bradley away and McKennie not recovering at all results in a goal for Jonathan dos Santos.

Berhalter needs to reshape the midfield. He needs to take out Ream and bring in an extra midfielder (Wil Trapp would be my recommendation). That should push McKennie up higher and give the U.S. greater midfield control.

Way more Mexico fans than American ones.
It's in Chicago, where hundreds of thousands of Mexicans live. Gold cup is a joke competition, where money is all that matters. That's why it's always hosted in the US, and why Mexico only ever gets to play in "Mexican market" cities.

If this match was held anywhere in California, we’d be even more outnumbered.

I don't see how Dan Lovitz coming in will change things. He'll offer nothing different to the U.S. side and will only make the U.S. more vulnerable to Mexico.

Looks like we'll have a CONCACAF Confederations Cup playoff match between the U.S. and Mexico soon.
Confederations Cup is still happening? So sad that Mexico and US are not going to be invited to the next Copa America.

Really not convinced with Greg.B as the coach.
