Ship money tax and all? My history degree finally came good.
1628 was prorogation. 1634 was ship money. The 'sovereign of the seas' was scrambling for lost ego. [And cash to restore it] . Didn't help, in 1639 in the battle of the downs, he got owned against Tromp [a dutch navy admiral]. And he lost his head for it eventually. I have a medal pedigreed back to him from just after that period, from before he was arrested and funnelled through to William Juxon, which was to further massage the ego. One of my favourites.

Totally off topic, but yea..

To be fair, there’s a section of Brits that have spent their days being intoxicated by American right wing talking heads and that sort of language is creeping into the vernacular. It’s fecking pathetic, feck your flags.
