So if they can find him guilty without a properly prepared trial in such quick time how come they have not annouced the punishment yet?

Maybe they need a replacement battery for the calculator.
Look at the tweet 1 post above yours.

I have sympathy for him. 21 months suspended sentence just don’t go to Greece again. We move on.

Oh but don't tell all the sensitive flowers.

They were expecting 10 years in prison with no parole

Didn't even have to do community service. Didn't even need to turn up to court either. All a big show for the prosecutors to get their 15 minutes of fame.

Some of you need to have a word. Harry Maguire has never been in trouble his entire life and deserves the benefit of the doubt.

It might not mean much, but plenty of his colleagues have been coming out in the media in support of him because it is just so out of character for him to get involved in something like this.

If they had any intention of jailing him, they wouldn't have let him go.
This stinks of dirty backhanders.
Bent cops and judges getting themselves a juicy payoff.

They couldn't jail him because the UK authorities wouldn't hand him over. The trial was a sham.

The Greeks have made a show of themselves yet again. Now even more people know what a corrupt bunch they are.

Needs to be transfer listed immediately. Not that anyone else would be stupid enough to buy him . A total disgrace to the shirt. Disgusting behaviour from him

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
The same people who were laughing at Liverpool fans with Suarez years ago are probably the same now saying "He's been stitched up!"
There's a bit of a difference don't you think? Suarez himself admitted that he did it but tried to make out it was a term of endearment, so Liverpool (the fans and the club) defending him were rightfully mocked.

There's quite blatantly something fishy going on with this Maguire situation. He very well might be guilty of some or even all of what they are saying, but the entire trial seems to have been a huge mess which calls into question everything about it.

Wont someone think of the Times staff? This is clearly personal for them.

This case seems nuts. If Maguire's sister really was attacked its disgusting that such a serious issue is being swept under the rug. Id be stunned if this is the last step in this case

Obviously a sham trial and off the scale levels of corruption, no surprise in that part of the world.

No doubt the boozed up group including Harry did some shitty things, after scumbags drugged his sister which mitigates it quite a bit. Then some scummy bent police turned up and failed to handle it properly. The court then promptly cover up for the police's failings. They get a nice fat payday to round it off. The end.
That's how things work !
There s no way the court would have contradict the version of the police. They need the police more than they need Harry over there :)

Its the bribery charge I'd be concerned about. Anybody know what the punishment for this might be in Greece?

We’ll find out the severity of the charges once sentencing is done. A comparatively small fine and time served suggests a minor altercation possibly exacerbated by alcohol and a language barrier. Further jail time and/or a massive fine means a more significant crime the criminal justice system are taking seriously. Once we know the sentence we’ll have a better sense of the impact to his career.

The most efficient legal system in the world... fire it through in 2 days and let them off with a big imaginary punishment.

Well, he has been convicted of aggravated assault and repeated attempts of bribery.
Hypothetically about if a man was sitting on a seat and he helped up a little old lady from falling, police only see him picking her up off the floor & arrest and charge him for assault. Bystanders only see her fall and this man get up and try to pick her up. From the bystanders view it looks like he pushed her. Said man now gets charged and is found guilty of assualt. - Should this man’s rep be tarnished for ever for not having the full story or listening to his side of events?

Ha ha!

Maguire should not have even allowed himself to be in that situation. Absolute stupidity. And it shows the players don't have anywhere near the same fear/respect they did with Fergie.

Ole will have to start laying down the law. Mr nice guy won't be enough to manage this situation. I wonder if he has it in his locker?
Maguire should not have put himself in that situation?

Hahaha!

So you won’t defend your family/friends if you see them in danger no?

Great friend you are.

The BBC are really lapping this up suggesting he loses the Captaincy and that England take action on him. You’d think he’d have done something really serious..

Are you a United fan? Is this aggressive view you have down to the fact he’s English? Some people are so transparent...
I am and it has nothing to do with nationality, piss off looking for that angle. This idiot is now convicted of aggravated assault. He should not be captain.

The sentence has been done. 21 month and for some reason 10 days, suspended.

Joel and Ed are behind this - suits them perfectly, changing the news focus. They probably disguised themselves as Albanian crims / Greek judges, I have no doubt
