Let's be clear where Utd have gone so badly wrong:
Pogba £90m
Maguire £80m
Bissaka £50M
Telles £30m (?)

Who is the worse one? They are all pretty useless for us.

That's £250M and NOTHING to show for it. These players are not even squad standard players. Did we even scout the likes of Telles and Bissaka before we bought them?

As for Pogba. He's your modern TikTok footballer brand. Only interested in himself. I knew someone that met him. Said he expected an arrogant, cocky, strong personality. What he got was a wet fish hand shake and the complete opposite. Almost shy and scared. That shows on the pitch. We thought we was getting a warrior and got a Prince Harry instead.

Oooh that harsh! ;)

Like me most will be disappointed at waiting for the real Paul Pogba to please stand up!
We have seen the real Pogba. This has not been a one off bad season. He has completely failed to live up to his potential and has routinely failed to turn up, especially when United have needed him to to perform.
Instantly forgettable.

Against cannon fodder like Leeds he’s had games that quite honestly were up there with anyone I’ve ever seen in a United shirt.

Talent wise 9/10. Sadly his overall game is not consistent or seemingly doesn’t have the drive to win like some of our rivals players. Makes too many mistakes due to his risky style.

He only really had one world class year here too statistically. I believe injuries and his overall attitude growing dissatisfaction with the club destroyed his reputation with our fans.

His first 3 years here were better than his last 3 and that shows a clear downward trend in his career so better to get rid regardless.

Very good but not a perfect player in disfunctional teams.

I was happy when he rejoined the club. He was an exciting young player who did have that extra flair that makes a good team an excellent team. He started his career well. Did things on the pitch that are fun to watch. Tricks, beating his man, driving the ball from midfield and supporting the attack. Had some succes in his first season and scored the winner in the Europa League final. After that he was still very good, he was our topscorer for a season while also still providing assists because he was the only creative player in the team at the team. The team got worse over time and it became harder for Pogba to stand out in increasingly worse teams. He played for a over the hill defensive minded manager and a clueless manager. Both didnt help his performances and Mourinho (with help of the media and sour ''Fergie knew best fans'') even turned fans against him with the virus talk. Pogba himself went from a midfield with a Matic that could still move around on the pitch (i still dont consider that anywhere worldclass) to a team where he has to share the midfield with a talentless player like passion and desire, huff and puff McT. Pogba his performances got worse and he isnt good enough to do it all by himself or elevate a shit midfield to a higher level.

Over the years he did lose some of that flair that he had earlier in his career, maybe because managers asked it of him because he plays in a deeper role or maybe because he cant do it anymore. Then when Bruno arrived Pogba wasnt the sole creative option in the team anymore. Pogba had to play closer to his own goal where it showed that he cant do the defensive duties required of him. He should have a defensive midfielder next to him if he plays in that role. Just like how Frenkie de Jong is at his best with a defensive midfielder next to him when he plays in the double pivot role. I think it is a shame we never got to see him play next to a real specialist DM for Manchester United.

By now Pogba isnt often showing the flair that made Manchester United sometimes fun to watch because of Pogba moments, he is often injured and looks a lot slower and less dynamic than in his earlier seasons. I do like him as a player, i think the way fans treat him is ridiculous but i wouldnt mind if he left. It has been a bad match for both parties. Pogba wasted the best years of his career in bad teams, didnt win much and Manchester United lost a lot of money without getting what they hoped for.

Underachieving & very average.

Should've been given 8 out 10 performances for most of his appearances at UTD regardless of how bad his team mates were playing.

Agree with your comments, excellent. I agree especially that he’ve never played with real specialist dm or destroyer b2b in 4-2-3-1. For me, he always performs superbly when he plays at left-midfielder or offensive central midfielder. He isn’t a pure number 10 or cdm/ deep lying playmaker. He isn’t a type of player that can carry your team but he performs well when he‘s more of a supporting role ( aka France 2018). One thing that I could blame him 100% percents is his attitude and behaviors, his bad attitude has caused United a lot of bad performances during the recent years. He shouldn’t wear United’s shirt anymore, his attitude is pretty mediocre.

I'll remember him as a very limited player, who frustratingly only really works in one position in one formation. Undeniably talented, but so are many other footballers out there. He needs more energetic players alongside him to do all of the legwork because he can't be arsed. I wouldn't quite call it unprofessional, but he doesn't do enough when he's playing. It's lovely making all of these great passes and looking amazing in these YouTube compilations, and it's especially easy if you've got all of these other players around you at national and international level enabling you to be this way.

You wouldn't want him in the trenches with you. If we were a Bayern Munich style side who walked the league and had it on easy mode, then he would be classed as the best in his position in the world, no doubt about it. He would look amazing because there's no challenge, so he's free to do whatever he likes. But that's not where we are right now, and for what we need from our midfield, he doesn't do anywhere near enough.

Pogba knew how demanding the Prem was, that every match has is a battle and players have to give 110%, so I keep asking myself "why did he return?" and "why did he sign a new contract in 2019 when it was very clear he wasnt likely to win major trophies for another two seasons at least?"

Why did we ever resign him? Ferguson was right all along, remember when he played Fabio? in midfield instead of Pogba when he had no CMs available? Looking back what a masterstroke that was.

I have a special obsession with the letter P, so I always hoped he would come good.
I love Pogba, his flashy jolly feelgood dancing dabbing character and vibes but sadly I must admit here at the end....that it hasnt worked out at all and will probably end up as one of our worst ever transfers. (Especially taking his earlier release into account)
All that money for not so many rememberworthy/dominating perfomances and only a few glimpses of the player that couldve been for us, and mostly is for France

Nevertheless dont think booing him personally was correct, and wish him all of the best wherever he goes....unless its city/against us

As one of the most unlikable players I’ve seen in a United shirt in 27 years of following the club.
As a player who never felt like he truly wanted to be here nor felt part of the club fully.
As a colossal disappointment and an enormous waste of money.

Left the club for free as a youngster, came back for a club record fee, leaving again on a free at the age of 29 in what should be his prime.
You couldn’t make this up really but its for the best, the definition of a luxury player who was never meant for the Premier League.

No hard feelings to be fair, just a very forgettable player.
20 years from now no one will even remember Pogba spent 5 years playing for United.

For me, Pogba will be remembered as a sign of everything that is wrong with football today. More interested in "likes" than winning. Huge waste of money. Why the club would go after a player that SAF let go will always be a head scratcher to me...

As a total disappointment sadly. I had such high hopes for him and I do think that he has in some parts of his career been mismanaged.

I’ll be glad to see the drama around if whether staying or going finally come to an end. It’ll be best for all parties for him to go now. Also, the constant comments in the media from his money grabbing agent will finally be over.

I remember him leaving more than him joining. Have to admit I was very excited to see him back then as an upcoming player. Thought we would get a player worthy of replacing Scholes but with more physicality, a complete midfielder basically. When he returned there was always this concern about his agent which was the main reason why SAF let him go. So him returning had me skeptical, excited but still skeptical. Dspecially that was during Jose era and we all know he focuses on short term.

Wasn't it also one of the reasons SAF brought Scholesy back from retirement, because Pogba couldn't cut it? (or am I getting the timing wrongs?)

waste of time. Flashes of quality here and there, never consistent over 90 mins let alone game to game. Needs to be surrounded by quality players, as proven by his success at Juve and France. A classic definition of a luxury player. Bad move for him and us. Had issues with SAF, Jose and even Ole at times, he got dropped against our biggest enemy Liverpool by Ole and now Rangnick as well. Not all his fault, I'll give him that but he has to accept a huge chunk of it.

Meh…is the word.
truth be told United fans as a whole have never taken to him. Apart from the initial few months after he returned, I don’t think fans have been fully behind him. Although he is also gigantically over rated by a section of the fanbase.
He’s never been fully committed to United and his performances have shown that and you can’t fool fans. He was never a player who constantly dragged us to results or form despite having the ability to do so and the reason is because he lacks drive and doesn’t care enough about United. United failing never hurt him enough.

People will point to France as if international football is anywhere near the same as club football. Playing for France you might play against high quality opposition twice or three times in a tournament. Rest of the time/year it’s mediocre and significantly inferior opposition.
Glad to see the back of him and his fat cnut of an agent.

Ultimately Sir Alex made the right call on him all those years ago. And Pogba has been a failure and looking back I wish we’d never signed him.

The short answer is Raiola promising him the world and delivering him a cabbage patch.
