I'm calling it: DDG is the best we've ever had

Imagine being so clueless on the rich history of Manchester United's great goalkeepers and making daft statements like a 25 year old goalie being "the best we've ever had", and then acting perplexed and resorting to personal attacks when your kneejerk opinions get called out down the line.

I know bumping old threads and trying to act all clever is your entire identity but you seem to have trouble understanding much else.

What does his age have to do with anything?

What makes the thread knee jerk?

He's definitely one of the best we've ever had (not necessarily the best). He just isn't good enough anymore.
There’s too much nuance and understanding involved in this for certain people to grasp it.

If a player is poor now then he’s never been any good.

How many DDG threads do we need, and why do I find myself posting in all of them?

None of it makes sense.

He's a shot stopper. Never been a leader. He's miles behind both Van Der Sar and Schmeichel.

He was superb, undeniable, he’s just not anymore. The errors are far to regular at this point, and it’s very damaging to have a keeper that has this many howlers so often.

Sometimes its works but twice today his constantly preference to set himself up to save the ball with his feet instead of his hands have cost him

He's turned into Karius. Liverpool replaced him quickly. We've let it go on 2 years abd gave him the beat contract in the world. Sanchez II

You aren’t making sense. Form is a period of time, not a whole career.
Exactly, yet your initial reply to me was a suggestion that what we’re seeing from him now is not “form”.

So I asked you what point you’re trying to make? That he wasn’t actually that good to begin with?

Only idiots would do that, but his error filled displays in key matches is too regular occurrence to ignore at this point.
No denying he's been bad for a while now.

When this thread was made De Gea was incredible for us.

I genuinely think your original post was to try and put words into people’s mouths.

I was replying to your use of the word ‘form’. You can’t call it form anymore.

These quotes sum it up perfectly:

Yep. Two years is a decline not bad form.

So your only reason for replying was to argue the semantics of form vs decline? In response to a post saying that what we’re seeing now doesn’t cancel out what came before?

He was pretty damned great when he was good. But with the shit he’s been serving up the past two seasons, combined with the fact that his best years were poor years for the club, he’s ruining any chance of being remembered as an all-time great.
