So finally Manipur has become mainstream news with everyone coming out with their own half baked ode to women’s safety. Important things to note:
- It’s been two months since this incident happened and since the FIR was initially lodged;
- Since then there has been no action taken despite everyone in the administration being fully aware;
- That isn’t a surprise as they’re more concerned with divide and rule, and ensuring information is she pressed;
- Once the video came out they could no longer afford to keep quiet. Not to mention the SC and CJi had made comments calling for action too;
- Biren Singh the CM of Manipur said that there are tons of similar cases in Manipur you just don’t hear about it - he’s the guy who is supposed to control the situation;
- this incident has already been reported previously and one of women stated that the Police handed us over to the mob. So the suspicion many have that the ruling party has aided the Meitie is not unfounded - that they ‘stole’ weapons of the police seems rather convenient
- Modi’s speech was pathetic. He should stop this election bayan nonsense we know he’s programmed to do for RSS and BJP as their face for garnering votes. The comment on other states was shameful.
- The incident was caused due to a rumour that Metei women had been raped by Kuki men. But who will dispel rumours when you have shutdown the internet and your leaders are incompetent.
Anyway none of it will matter as the masses follow Godi channels who are the narrative setters.

I guess. But I also don’t feel any of this is natural mob violence and have come to expect it as the norm - so there’s that sense that they’ll allow as much as they need. They love lighting little fires here and there to keep communal disharmony alive.

No doubt about it. The video I posted above sums it up well.
I don’t know what upsets me more. The Governent poisoning the soul / consciousness of the country or the educated lot willfully going along with or oblivious to it. I don’t know about you lot but I try to give these sort of pieces circulation among my family but to be honest - they really don’t give a shit. Every once in awhile one even gets asked not to share it. It’s like some dystopian Hollywood reality gone bad.

The opposition missed a trick in parliament over the last week. Yes the media is in the centre’s pocket and will only show them in the brightest possible light but the opposition needs a few good orators to make better use of the platform. Gogoi’s speech was decent but he’s not seasoned and Rahul Gandhi’s relied too much on anecdotes and sloganism. I would have preferred to hear someone like Kejriwal who has a way with words talk about the government’s pathetic actions.
I know BJP leaders would never give Ravish Kumar an interview as he’d absolutely batter them as Karan Thapar famously did to Modi but at least having that sort of speaker would provide convincing arguments on a big platform. It’s sad though that for many Modi and BJP seem absolutely immune to criticism. Their actions in Manipur have been inexcusable and an example of inept administration, yet Dear Leader’s name is chanted as he walks into Parliament after which he basically gives a 2 hour election speech full of bantz and smiling.
And really, the truth is the Hindi heartland simply doesn’t care - give them news of the stock market going up, hugs with other leaders and Muslim homes getting bullodzed and they’re happy.
