What do you expect with best players rested and many that are playing are not starters or haven’t played football for weeks! Only 2-0 is a good result for Iceland so far!

Should have scored a couple more at least. Look more fluid with Foden, Grealish & Mount. Maguire playing like peak Beckenbauer. Hard to read anything into it though given how bad Iceland have been.
I like Ampadu but he’s well behind Rice at the moment. His career hasn’t really worked out as expected so far.
He only just turned 20 last month but he did have a bad loan move last season.
Still plenty of time and it seems Giggs is a fan which is great for him.

Oh I agree about the talent. I like Ampadu a lot. But he stalled a bit at the same time as Rice kicked on. At the moment, Rice is simply a much better player in every respect. They both have lots of time to develop further though...
Sounds like his goal vs Southampton last season, hopefully a nice confidence boost for him.
