He could definitely find clubs and have decent money to live on, in a nice city. I didn't say he'd be a star or marquee signing.
I would agree with that if the league was somewhere in Europe, just not MLS. Wages are shit in MLS if you are not a DP and their salary cap structure is completely different than any other league. The maximum a non-DP player can make is something like $10k / week.
It's players like Thierry Henry, Kaka, Robbie Keane, David Villa, Andrea Pirlo, Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Beckham that get on the DP list. Lingard is light years behind those players and doesn't have the marketing value for a club to even consider signing him and making up funds that way.
I know people on this forum like to slag off MLS as some place where anyone can go and make a ton of money, but that only is true for what were once elite level players that can still perform in a lower quality league and sell tickets and shirts, i.e., not Jesse Lingard.
That said, for regular folks $10k/week is an amazing salary, but even Lingard can command a much higher wage across almost every tier 2 league in Europe and he still might be able to scam a contract from a desperate EPL club.
