It's gained a bit more prominence in recent years, and this was inter-juventus, but it's a micky mouse trophyIs this match considered a legit cup or an exhibition?
I ask because Inter's celebration was like someone winning the FA Cup in the last minute.
Gee i wonder why they're celebrating after scoring a goal in the last minute of extra time to win a cup.Is this match considered a legit cup or an exhibition?

They’re Charity Shield basically. But still, last minute winner like it’s not surprising they celebrate. And beating Juve just further emphasises that they’re being knocked off their perch. It's gained a bit more prominence in recent years, and this was inter-juventus, but it's a micky mouse trophy
Bit more important than the charity shield. More like league cupThey’re Charity Shield basically. But still, last minute winner like it’s not surprising they celebrate. And beating Juve just further emphasises that they’re being knocked off their perch.
Yeah, that's a good point, Mr. Snarky. I recall United celebrating a late winner over City in the Community Shield despite being an exhibition match no one really cares about hours later.Gee i wonder why they're celebrating after scoring a goal in the last minute of extra time to win a cup.
Anyway to answer your question, its the equivalent of the charity shield, I'd imagine us being very jaunty if we were to beat pool in the last minute to win one of those.
Didn't want it sound that bad, sorryYeah, that's a good point, Mr. Snarky. I recall United celebrating a late winner over City in the Community Shield despite being an exhibition match no one really cares about hours later.
All good! Was a legit response to winning any sort of legit competition or cup, even if an exhibition. Well, maybe not like winning the Emirates Cup and celebrating, that's a bit much.Didn't want it sound that bad, sorry
I'd get happy whenever we beat scousers or citeh getting a cup for it is just the icing on the cake, I'd imagine it being the same for most football fans.
Spurs were petty lively after winning the esteemed audi cup.All good! Was a legit response to winning any sort of legit competition or cup, even if an exhibition. Well, maybe not like winning the Emirates Cup and celebrating, that's a bit much.
Supercup is comparable to english league cup in terms of importanceAll good! Was a legit response to winning any sort of legit competition or cup, even if an exhibition. Well, maybe not like winning the Emirates Cup and celebrating, that's a bit much.
Thought you on bit of an up, until Chiesa got seriously injuried last game? The trophy is a no-trophy but our last three games against Napoli, Roma and Inter clearly show that we are flat dead. It is sh*t on a stick in its purest form, and the second part of the season will be a nightmare, with almost any player in the roster thinking he will be out in June, and rightly so… therefore not playing at all for a lost cause any more.
I think Agnelli really needs to show up and do something relevant to keep the parts together, or be removed: Allegri can’t take the blame forever, Arrivabene is just there to cut costs and the squad, overpaid but limited, has no urge.Thought you on bit of an up, until Chiesa got seriously injuried last game?
One of them being make sure Dybala stays, i assume?I think Agnelli really needs to show up and do something relevant to keep the parts together, or be removed: Allegri can’t take the blame forever, Arrivabene is just there to cut costs and the squad, overpaid but limited, has no urge.
I don’t know, really… any plan is better than no plan, though… if just the first in line shows up and makes us know before the season ends, maybe. One of them being make sure Dybala stays, i assume?
Saw more rumors already last couple of hours that he isn't renewing, him leaving on a free certainly would be very bad for the club.
It's an official competition, it build up your palmares. The winner of the Italian Serie A against the winner of the Coppa Italia. Is this match considered a legit cup or an exhibition?

I do not follow Serie A nor fully aware of the Inter/Juve rivalry. Always thought it was Milan as Inter's chief rival and Torino for Juve. All these years and never new Inter/Juve was a huge rivalry. It's an official competition, it build up your palmares. The winner of the Italian Serie A against the winner of the Coppa Italia.
this time it's considered very important and wildly celebrated because of the rivalry among Inter and Juve.
Milan are indeed Inter's main rivals but there's also a really strong juventus/inter rivalry since the late 90s(ronaldo season) and then calciopoli. It's a toxic rivalry at that, more so than the derbiesI do not follow Serie A nor fully aware of the Inter/Juve rivalry. Always thought it was Milan as Inter's chief rival and Torino for Juve. Milan is number 1, Juve is number 2. There's also a small rivalry with Roma that I've never quite understood.I do not follow Serie A nor fully aware of the Inter/Juve rivalry. Juventus is widely supported all over Italy, most of the fans from outside Piedmont would actually consider the rivalry with Inter to be far more important than the local one with Torino. Roma and Milan are also considered important rivals.I do not follow Serie A nor fully aware of the Inter/Juve rivalry. Always thought it was Milan as Inter's chief rival and Torino for Juve. The 98-2002 period (with Ronaldo's famous penalty) is an important part of it but it is not the start. This fixture has been called "derby d'Italia" since the 60s. It was already hot and it took higher proportions in 61, there was a famous game in 60/61 that got interrupted after a pitch invasion from Juve fans. And when the Lega Calcio decided to replay the game instead of awarding Inter a 2-0 win by forfeit, it got very heated between the club leaders. Agnelli was president of the Italian FA (FIGC) back then and Moratti accused the Lega of favouring Juve under pressure from the FIGC.Milan are indeed Inter's main rivals but there's also a really strong juventus/inter rivalry since the late 90s(ronaldo season) and then calciopoli. That is the UltrasThere's also a small rivalry with Roma that I've never quite understood.
Eh, Inter-Juventus was always a big rivalry but no more because it was 2 of the biggest/winningest clubs in the country, not too different from the Juventus/Milan one or the various Juventus/Roma from the early 80s or Napoli/Juventus - Napoli/Milan from the late 80s, or the recent Napoli/Juventus...The 98-2002 period (with Ronaldo's famous penalty) is an important part of it but it is not the start. Moratti and his coach Herrara decided to send the youth instead of the first squad, the kids of Inter played the rescheduled game and they got trashed 9-1. It is never been a normal or healthy rivalry since then.
Sorry but I think Lautaro and Barella stand out much more than BrozovicHave to say @Yagami ain't wrong about Arthur though. Juventus do look much better organized in attack with him on the pitch. They just play better with him
Inter are a great team without world class players(save Brozovic). That's why they might not win tonight. If they do though it's likely enough for the title
I'm in Turin and honestly don't give a fk about Turin. They're irrelevant on any level since what? more than 20years.Juventus is widely supported all over Italy, most of the fans from outside Piedmont would actually consider the rivalry with Inter to be far more important than the local one with Torino.
So no pitch invasion but simply 61.000 tickets were sold but likely another 20-30.000 people entered without tickets.the response of the public was extraordinary, Juve sold more than 61,000 tickets making it a record income, but it is immediately clear that the spectators are many more.
Gambarotta whistled the kick-off and Inter started off immediately, putting the hosts in difficulty.
The audience warms up, applauds, participates amused in the show until it can no longer stay in its place.
But not because of the enthusiasm, but because he can't physically stay there.
Spectators flock to the nets, crushes, pushes and in the end no less than 5,000 people find no other solution than to climb over and go to place themselves on the edges of the field, some even place themselves above the stands. It is the half hour of the first half.
The players are seized by a rush of fear.
Even the referee gets scared.
The referee thinks with terror about what could happen the moment he should award a penalty kick and immediately orders the suspension of the game.
Juve executives give orders from the speaker to leave the pitch, but there is no room/space.
After 10 minutes they restarted the game but the attempt is short, after two minutes everyone is in the locker room again. A little later Gambarotta will decide to suspend the race.
Ha, I'm glad someone agrees!Have to say @Yagami ain't wrong about Arthur though. Juventus do look much better organized in attack with him on the pitch. They just play better with him

Brilliant!35yo Nani steps in with 20 minutes to play and immediately provides the assist for Venezia to equalise.
Yes, Barella is definitely not only wc, he is one of the most underrated players in today football. He has a lot of times to emphasize himself about being wc player. Not talking about players grades( world class or not) , I think our league has developed a lot during 3-4 years not a dark era anymore(dark era was 2013-2018).Barella is definitely world class imo. He would be a regular starter in any team except Real Madrid, FC Bayern and maybe Manchester City.
Lautaro not yet, he should improve his performances in big games. Especially this season he was disappointing in the UEFA Champions League and other important matches (Milan derby and both Juventus games)
I'd say that there are not more than 5 world class players in Serie A (Koulibaly, Barella, Brozovic, Chiesa, Theo Hernandez). Then there are several players who're close to that level like SMS, Skriniar, Lautaro or Dybala and others who might reach it soon (Vlahovic, Bastoni, Osimhen, Leao)
Yep. But mind you, this is less about Arthur being actually good(he...kind of isn't. Not really) and more an indictment on juventus other midfielders and AllegriHa, I'm glad someone agrees!
With him, they have the connector. Someone who can link the defence with the midfield and attack. Someone who can add some control and composure to an otherwise chaotic team regardless of being pressed or not. He doesn't need Scholes' range of passing to be effective like this. It's all about team balance.
Without him, well, Juve are like us! A mess that relies on individual brilliance. Just get it forward and hope it sticks without any semblance of cohesive build-up play.
I'm really, really not so sure about that. I mean arsenal need a body right now, so sure, if he can play until Thomas gets back at least that'd be a good signing. But they don't exactly need him, and at full strenght, i'm not even sure i'd start him over Xhaka, despite the latter's tendency for ridiculous red cards he still offers a lot more than ArthurIt's why I'm gutted that Arsenal especially seem to have him sewn up. I think if we even just got him on loan until the end of the season to see us through, he could be the difference in us getting top 4 and Arsenal/Tottenham. He's there for the taking.
If I were a Juventus fan(even typing that sentence makes me want to throw up) i'd want Allegri to start fecking coaching some patterns of play and give the team at least a semblance of structureIf I were a Juve fan, I'd be wanting to see a midfield three of Arthur, Locatelli and McKennie - who's improved so much this season - given a run of games before getting rid. Arthur as the connector at 6, Locatelli in more of a free/roaming role like at Sassuolo, and McKennie as the box-to-box as he's got the workrate, the ability to now effectively carry the ball and link-up play, along with being a decent goal threat.
Oh, you! I thought you were actually agreeing with me there! I'm still of the opinion that, If he can stay fit, there's a very good central midfielder in there, but, yeah, it's more about Juventus' other options being nothing noteworthy themselves at the mo. No argument there.Yep. But mind you, this is less about Arthur being actually good(he...kind of isn't. Not really) and more an indictment on juventus other midfielders and Allegri
As you know, I rate Arthur too highly to agree here. I think he'd compliment Xhaka or Partey better than they do eachother. He's also the type of CM Arteta seems to love having as one of the midfield two, which is why he had Ceballos for so long, tried Denis Suarez on loan, and is now promoting Patino instead of keeping Maitland Niles around.I'm really, really not so sure about that. As for United, they really should be chasing better players than Arthur. They seem to have the money...
Well, there's that, sure! Still, it'd help if he picked a balanced midfield to give the team a platform to build upon. Rabiot and Bentancur are pointless. If I were a Juventus fan(even typing that sentence makes me want to throw up) i'd want Allegri to start fecking coaching some patterns of play and give the team at least a semblance of structure
I blame Allegri more than the players honestlyOh, you! I thought you were actually agreeing with me there! Mate, if Legoman rated Ceballos they would have signed him. And Ceballos is *better* than ArthurAs you know, I rate Arthur too highly to agree here. They're miscast more than anything. But again, this is on AllegriWell, there's that, sure! Still, it'd help if he picked a balanced midfield to give the team a platform to build upon. Rabiot and Bentancur are pointless.
