United refusing to say its over is literally all that's been happening since the 10th august. No different to what's been happening the last few weeks. Still weird he didnt play today and I imagine theres still an amount of money that could be offered to make it happen, but seems like both clubs are willing to gamble on it not happening this window.

Seems United are happy to go back in January or next summer. Sancho is already kicking up a fuss apparently.

Cavani surely means we've failed to sign anyone decent and settled for him? Right?

Doesn’t have an impact on any other business according to some of the briefed journos. It’s an opportunity signing, even though I think it’s a bad one.

I guess Sancho as a RW needs a striker like cavani upfront as Martial isnt the most predatory striker.

Gary Neville makes some good points about the board.

But then the points Sheringham and Neville make about needing Sancho are just baffling. I really don’t get it.

Sherringham questions whether we even need Sancho as we already have players who can play wide. No we don’t. They are doing an ok job but nowhere near Sancho level. Teddy talks like he’s never watched Sancho play.
And then Neville says we have Martial and Rashford who can play out wide but also VDB and Pogba who can play there! Really?! Pogba out wide

I’d love to know which “proper striker” Teddy thinks we should be getting for £100m.

Sometimes Neville does come out with some bonkers.

I have to disagree a little

Pogba has only played out wide once or twice for United, but I think he’s been brilliant there on that rare occasion he’s been allowed to do it.

I’ve watched every game since Pogba has been here and I don’t recall him ever starting or playing out wide in the forward positions?

I can’t believe so many people are still thinking that we will buy Sancho. I gave all the reasons on 10th of August why we were not going to buy Sancho.
We as fans need to do something together against Glazers. Boycott games, boycott merch etc. Last time there were too many of us that didn’t see what was happening. But knowing that there are still muppets who will reply to me that Glazers are good for MUFC, Woodward is good etc, Glazers have already won. Cavani is so shite signing. Sancho was supposed to be our RW and Mason our backup ST. Now we will buy some shite RW whos name i wont even bother learning and then Cavani. Omg, Cavani. It’s Falcao all over again, but now Mason will lose minutes to some old feck who will retire in 2 years after Glazers have given him a golden handshake. Glazers are really banking on the stupid fans

There is a lot of frustration with our ownership, but the truth is we can not fix the problem without a solution.

The solution is new owners with a different vision and objective. But as has already been discussed a few times, the club is pretty much unsellable based on current value. The only person that would buy Utd is a rich fanatic.

Falk has said very early that Dortmund's price is 120m and they would only accept this offer.

All other journalists have showed that they know nothing because they made up wrong stories (Clubs are still talking, England bonuses for Sancho, he will force a move in the last days, blah blah blah).
To be fair I think every journalist, man, woman and dog has known the price is 120m euro. Someone forgot to tell Ed though.

Astounds me many of you are convinced that what essentially is a free transfer would in any way affect a potential Sancho deal. Feck me.

WHAT! Martial not good enough for you anymore when a shiny new toy is coming? Hmm? Hmm??
Martial is one of my favourite players however I think he needs the right system.

Have clinical forwards on either side of him and allow him to be the link man type forward. This is why Rashford, Martial and Greenwood work even though the 4231 is the wrong formation to have them close & linked together.

Sancho on the RW for me will be more of a creative player that sets up chances through passes and crossing & I dont see that benefitting Martial's natural gameplay. It would benefit Greenwood or Cavani more. Sancho on the left wing however can be a bit more clinical and will suit Martial.

Woowar, Chinless, Dick-Ed...whatever you want to call him (all deserved)...will get this over the line. He’s just been saving the Tampa Bay Gimps a couple of months of wages. Still time for this to be Sanch-tioned by our bastard owners.

I am now running on muppet fumes, blind faith and sheer delusional nobheadedness to be fair.

For the first time, doubt has set in.
I think the penny is beginning to drop. :D
No doubt, in 48hrs, the muppets will say, "he will join us in January", just as they said about Griezmann, when he snubbed us.

Even now though, I am hoping that the Cavani deal falls through and the board begrudgingly pay for Sancho.
Sadly, I don't see this happening.

I disagree, both Sancho and Martial are at their best when linking up close around the box with quick passing and close control. Moments like his 3rd vs. Sheffield United and Greenwood's equaliser vs West Ham highlight Martial's strengths and being able to play off someone of Sancho's quality on the right would be great for him and vice versa.

It’s always been a question on who would blink first. Both aides are taking it to the final day.

Remember though, we can score the winning goal even after the final whistle is blown. :D

Sadly, I don't see this happening.
Cavani, Sancho and Telles will all be unveiled on Monday night.
Sadly Donny may not be about for the photo as he’ll have gone for international duty :(

I think what Sherringham is trying to get at is that for over 100m, sancho is another young winger who might or might not push on from getting 10 goals and assists per season, which is good, but is it worth that? And I know sancho got nearly 20 goals and assists last year but the premier league is much tighter.

But I disagree with him about the center forward, unless it was someone like haaland to come in and push martial, because I think greenwood will be the main man soon. Someone like Traore at right wing might be just as good for half the money or maybe a bit more than half.

Complete opposite for me. I think the main player who'd benefit from Sancho's arrival is Martial. Sancho likes playing intricate passes in the box, one twos and has a general level of composure in attacking areas which Martial resonates with. Martial more than anyone in our squad likes playing quick short passes to make space and it feels like nobody in the attacking areas is really on his wavelength in that regard and that's why you see the best of his link-up play around likes of Pogba and Mata in often deeper areas - Sancho coming in would allow him to play that style closer to goal and I think it would be very exciting to see.

We need a RW, we just can't afford to go another season without one. Even Perisic on loan would be acceptable at this point, even if he's just an extra body there to give Greenwood a rest from time to time.

I just find it strange when pundits go on as if only strikers should cost £100m+. It’s like he dismisses the idea that any player outside of a striker should be 100m. A Sancho would improve our team massively and bring so much to the team. He made out as if he just does “a little bit here and there”.

I keep hearing pundits saying Utd should go out and get a top striker or someone like Kane as if these players are easily available.

I am becoming less confident from day to day that this deal will be done. Cavani's signing and there's an another young RW coming on marks the indication that saying Sancho is not coming even though he is making noises to Dortmund now.

I know, it’s a bit old fashioned alright. Center forwards aren’t the key to attacks nowadays, goals are shared around the front 3.
But I do think there is a risk with sancho. It could be a bargain or he could be a bit of a pogba.

Save the money and go all out next summer for Haaland! He is the real deal. His finishing is out of the world!
