Jovic is off to Madrid apparently.I would add Havertz and Jovic.

Every player has a price mate, remember SAF saying he wouldn't 'sell them a virus' regarding Reals pursuit of Ronaldo. What's the point of chasing this when Dortmund made it abundantly clear he wouldn't be sold this summer? If there's one player that can be gotten that's as good as Sancho, it's probably Felix. Might as well put this thread on ice until next summer, I can't see Sancho pulling a Dembele this summer, especially to come here.
The difference is Ronaldo badly wanted to play for Madrid, there is no indication Jadon has even an inkling of desire to join Manchester United in its current predicament.Every player has a price mate, remember SAF saying he wouldn't 'sell them a virus' regarding Reals pursuit of Ronaldo.
You haven't been paying enough attention - he has supposedly said he wants to play for only us in the PL. And is willing to serve another year at Dortmund until we get our sh*t togetherThe difference is Ronaldo badly wanted to play for Madrid, there is no indication Jadon has even an inkling of desire to join Manchester United in its current predicament.
Ah yes, I forgot to read my daily cycle of tribalfootball or Daily news, how silly of me.You haven't been paying enough attention - he has supposedly said he wants to play for only us in the PL. And is willing to serve another year at Dortmund until we get our sh*t together
It was actually reported by the BBC.Ah yes, I forgot to read my daily cycle of tribalfootball or Daily news, how silly of me.
Until I read quotes said by the player, I put very little stock in any articles, especially when a player willingly handicaps his prospects in another league by limiting himself to one team. Not saying it’s impossible, I’m just saying the competition for him will be fierce and whatever he may have said or not said shouldn’t really be taken with anything more than a pinch (or punch) of salt; especially when other teams are far better equipped to put him in a winning situation both domestically and in Europe. It was actually reported by the BBC.

Fair enough, reputable source or not, a preference is hardly worth anything in business or football. I think he’d be an excellent addition, but it’ll be a hell of a long shot that he would come to United over say Madrid/Barcelona next summer. I just don’t give much credence to a player stating a preference (reported and not said by the player himself), especially as a lot can happen in a year and United is far from being as attractive a destination as some of those other clubs. Financially, United is as good as anybody, but they’re not alone and the others have more attractive prospects at the moment. It was reported by Stone and Ornstein of the BBC who are as good as it gets for reliability in England.
The point was, that Sancho preferring us over the rest in England came from very reputable sources. And not the sources you assumed in your earlier post.

I believe this is called moving the goalposts to the other end of the field.Fair enough, reputable source or not, a preference is hardly worth anything in business or football.
Then you might want to look up what moving the goalposts are in an argument, because that's not what it is. Ronaldo has made claims, himself, with quotes, that he wanted to join Madrid and it was a dream ('the future, only god knows'). You find me something of that effect with Sancho then we can talk about it.I believe this is called moving the goalposts to the other end of the field.
This might be the case. Brandt, THazard, Reus, they are well served in attack and a huge transfer fee could help them address other areas. So Dortmund already brought Julian Brandt and Thorgan Hazard in. Think if we throw enough money at them they will be willing to let Jadon go
Perhaps, but I think I would rather have just bought Brandt and Hazard (for a combined £48m?), and spent the big money upgrading midfield/defence.So Dortmund already brought Julian Brandt and Thorgan Hazard in. Think if we throw enough money at them they will be willing to let Jadon go
Ornstein still said it's 50/50Perhaps, but I think I would rather have just bought Brandt and Hazard (for a combined £48m?), and spent the big money upgrading midfield/defence.
Anyway, most reports seem to suggest that the problem here isn't Dortmund, it's Sancho - he's not keen to join a club in total disarray with no CL football, in it's worst run of form for 50 years.
There's been talk since then that Sancho has decided against it, no idea if it's as reliable as Ornstein though.Ornstein still said it's 50/50
While at the same time describing it as "highly unlikely", didn't he? I'm not sure what that means, but it doesn't sound particularly positive.Ornstein still said it's 50/50
Brandt will likely occupy a a role in the center, while Hazard is needed as a counterpart for Sancho. So Dortmund already brought Julian Brandt and Thorgan Hazard in. Think if we throw enough money at them they will be willing to let Jadon go
He said it was 'highly unlikely' and then finished off by saying we have a 50/50 chance.. That's a pretty decent chance considering what he said earlier in the show. While at the same time describing it as "highly unlikely", didn't he? I'm not sure what that means, but it doesn't sound particularly positive.
I'd assume that James and an extension to Mata's deal are the backup options to Sancho, so lets see if they go through.
I don't have any faith in Martial turning his career around, so I'd be fine with us signing a top wide player this season who can play both on the right and left, then next season sign Sancho with James and Mata being squad players this season.Hypothetical question.
If we were able to guarantee the signing of Sancho next season, would people accept a year of James/Mata for a season?
Martial is everything Nani was ever accused of being, only with half the talent.I don't have any faith in Martial turning his career around, so I'd be fine with us signing a top wide player this season who can play both on the right and left, then next season sign Sancho with James and Mata being squad players this season.
Definitely.Hypothetical question.
If we were able to guarantee the signing of Sancho next season, would people accept a year of James/Mata for a season?
No, neither James or Mata (+ Lingard) are good enough if we aspire to get back to the top. If Sancho was nailed on for next season we still need a player like say Nicolas Pepe whos got experience.Hypothetical question.
If we were able to guarantee the signing of Sancho next season, would people accept a year of James/Mata for a season?
Yes. We aren't getting better than top 4 next season anyway. It's possibly for us to get top 4 with our current squad let alone additions in other positions. So I'll gladly take no RW if we're guaranteed possibly the biggest teenage talent out there joining us next summer.Hypothetical question.

Yes I would.Hypothetical question.

Players are hardly going to come out and say ‘I hate my current club and want to move to club x’. BBC is as reliable as it gets.Until I read quotes said by the player, I put very little stock in any articles, especially when a player willingly handicaps his prospects in another league by limiting himself to one team. Brandt can and likely will play as much centrally as anywhere else.Right Pulisic is off to Chelsea so you'd expect Dortmund to add a winger to their squad but they've now added two in Hazard and Brandt. Wonder if that will spark more Sancho muppetry
I'd say that's a resounding yes. We suck because we don't have players exactly like him.I like Sancho but he strikes me as a player that can be valuable for a good team that are looking for a creative spark from the right.
I used to think we may be that team. However, as the season progressed I realised how far away from that we are.
Im not sure if Sancho can help an average team like ours. We have far more serious issues
Don't worry mate I fully expect Sancho to stay for one more year. Didn't know Brandt was a midfielder though, always thought he was a wingerBrandt can and likely will play as much centrally as anywhere else.
Sancho is staying
Pulisic money?Looks like they spending the Sancho money already.
He flourished centrally this season under Bosz.Don't worry mate I fully expect Sancho to stay for one more year. Didn't know Brandt was a midfielder though, always thought he was a winger
They signed Hazard and Brandt for less than what they sold Pulisic for.Looks like they spending the Sancho money already.
€50m for Hazard and Brandt combined, that's hardly spending any money at all for Dortmund.Looks like they spending the Sancho money already.
Stop spoiling my optimism.€50m for Hazard and Brandt combined, that's hardly spending any money at all for Dortmund.
