I'd like to see them go a bit less serious again after Craigs shift is over. There has to be a happy medium between this and the full on Campery of Moore surely?

I want proper henchman with unusual physical quirks back for starters.

I always thought Ron Perlman would make an excellent Jaws but he's probably a bit old now. Imagine this face with a row of metal nashers...

How about a henchman with a bionic leg that can kick through concrete and metal? Not only would this lead to cool action scenes (perhaps he could assassinate someone by kicking their head off?) but then you'd be open to some outstanding quips such as "He couldn't get his leg over" when Bond offs him at the climax.

Daniel Craig is the best Bond for me.

Hated him at first but after 3 movies I think I like him the most if not the best actually.

The Poker scenes ruined Casino Royale for me.

Winning a sports car with trip aces against trip kings, and then $100m+ with a straight flush (against two full houses and an ace high flush), doesn't make you good at poker, it makes you the luckiest man in the world.

True. You think it'd be cooler if he won with a great bluff.

I preferred the Austin Powers take on it all...

I'm not sure about the best but he is doing a great job but I have never actually hated any of the bond actors all have had things i liked and disliked i'm one of the few people who like Dalton but thank god he didn't accept the role when he was first offered it in his early 20's for On Her Majesty's Secret Service in 1969, But i would say Craig has a bit Sean Connery about him which probably makes him the closest thing to the Fleming Bond since Diamonds are Forever which surprises me because i was disapointed a bit when he got the role because I always wanted Clive Owen to get the role for Casino Royale.

I still believe Owen could have made a great Bond.

as for the song it seems a very typical Bond soundtrack so no complaints there

I dont dislike any of the Bonds, they all have there good points and bad points, I thought George Lazenby was good in OHMSS, most did not like him in it.
I agree with you about Craig being like Connery, for me with an added edge and he could give the right scripts become the best Bond.

I agree he could become the best but i think after 3 it would be too soon to make that judgement as still only half of the Connery 6 or 7 if you count the unofficial Bond movie he did, I believe he is contracted to another 2 after Skyfall so after 5 if he keeps it up he has a good chance.

I would have liked to have seen what Brosnan could have done with a script like Casino Royale I got slated for it earlier in the thread I think he had everything but his scripts was just way over the top with each movie trying to out do the last and getting worse each time.

Dalton is also a Bond I really admire I often wonder how he would have been remembered if there wasn't that 6 year gap between License to Kill and Goldeneye and he got to make movies in 91 & 93 and got a good 4 under his belt. Obviously not the planned 'Warhead' movie that Kevin McClory wanted to make with him which was going to be just another Thunderball/Never say never again remake

The James Bond channel on sky movies is ruining my life. I watched the spy who loved me the other night and stupidly left the channel on when I turned off the tv. The following morning I turned on the tv and had to watch moonraker, that evening I got home from a night out, flicked the tv on right at the start of the man with the golden gun. I did the same thing the following morning and had to watch live and let die.

I've now sensibly trained myself to put the tv on bbc 1 before I turn it off!

Not a fan of the Adele one, not... dynamic enough. Don't know, just doesn't feel like an appropriate James Bond song.

Cornell's one was pretty good and I absolutely loved the opening credits to that one, that came just after a really good opening scene. To be honest, as I was telling my girlfriend recently, since Goldeneye I went to see all the James Bonds at the pictures and had to witness the slow deterioration in quality, until the God-awful Die another day (to think that Madonna's song wasn't even the worst part of it just tells you how bad it was). Casino Royale was like a wet dream for me, a perfect ressuscitation of the franchise, and I loved everything about it. I remember coming out of the cinema with a smile on my face thinking that, yeah, the Bond films were probably not dead after all.

To be honest I don't mind the Adele 'Skyfall' track from a Bond point of view, I think it fits into the vibe perfectly well.

But, I would've preferred this as the next Bond theme, it's 'Supremacy' from Muse's latest album and to be fair it sounds like it was intended to be a Bond theme, even the instrumentals have the full Bond sound to them:

Any thoughts? Ignore the Spanish lyrics/translation, it's the only official version of the song I could find on the tube.

EDIT: A quick google search and it seems that's what Muse were actually intending it to be for: NME

Somewhere between a rock and a hard place.
Just listened to the Adele track and I think it's spot on for a Bond track. If you think about the standard opening credits for Bond movies, I think it will fit the visuals really well.

The Adele one is a bond song for the first 20 seconds and last 20 seconds, and in between it's her usual stuff.

I'm glad they've gone with a memorable looking villain. James Bond films are all about the mental antagonists.

He's a great actor too.

Come to think of it, I can't even remember the villain from Quantum of Solace. What a poor film.

Matthieu Amalric, who's actually a very good actor.

I think Quantum could have been a very good film but was badly affected by the screenwriters strike (Daniel Craig and Marc Forster had to rewrite certain scenes). Just an extra half hour and some good character developement could have made it miles better. They were just unlucky with the timing.

Having said that, don't think it's half as bad as many make it out to be. Much weaker that Casino Royale, yes, but it serves its purpose.

The guy who cries blood or something. He's an adequate poker player, enjoys hitting blokes in the bollocks with a bit of knotted rope.

Edit: Oh wait, that's Casino Royale... never mind.

I get that with the 50 year anniversary of Bond they wanted something rootsy, nostalgic and grandiose, and they certainly have that in Adele's track, which I thought was a great Bond song when I first heard it. However, even though I'm not a fan of muse, for me that is just a far superior fit than Adele's.

I've only just watched the trailer for the first time, it's the basic premise of the story just the same as that of the first Mission: Impossible movie?

Never been a Bond Fan. The only ones I know I have watched all the way through are License to Kill and Casino Royale. I have seen bits of loads of others.

I attempted to watch Octopussy on SKY over the weekend. I thought it was dire. Just a cheesy joke fest.
