James Robson: Even Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp would be destined to fail at Man Utd

No idea what that means dude. Just read any random analysis of Liverpool's success, look at the people involved behind the scenes and google them, read about the way they set up the club and the decisions they made and tell me again Klopp is the sole reason they became what they became. In my opinon it's genuinely delusional to make such a claim.

https://www.thisisanfield.com/2020/01/liverpool-fc-a-blueprint-for-success/

One of the best decisions FSG have made at Liverpool was appointing Michael Edwards as sporting director. Make no mistake, it was a risky move, as Edwards had been promoted through the ranks and came with a background of analytics. He wasn’t a traditional ‘football man’ in the mould of a Johan Cruyff. But it is a risk that has paid off unbelievably well.

Since his appointment Edwards has gone on to become one of, if not the best sporting director in world football (based on the size of Liverpool and its competitors). In his early tenure as part of the infamous transfer committee Coutinho arrived at Liverpool for £8.5 million. The subsequent sale and reinvestment of the fee for the same player has been Edwards’ best work so far.

But just look at the players we have signed under Edwards, and the cost. It is incredible to think we have probably the best and most frightening front three in world football at a total cost of under £100 million. And they are all aged just 27 or 28, only just entering their peak years. And we can never, ever forget Andy Robertson.

Edwards is the man that works behind the scenes to recruit the players that fit into the vision and philosophy of playing style. He is the architect.

Again, Edwards doesn’t work alone, Dave Fallows and Barry Hunter report into him and are critical to the recruitment process. But the performance of our recruitment team has been world class since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp—and that team is led by Edwards.
So why not just stick it out with Rodgers?

Nonsense.

We'd be challenging for the title right now if we had Klopp.
If we got Klopp instead of Mourinho then maybe. But we didn’t, we got Mourinho who spunked a shit ton of money on overpaid dross, most of which need to be cleared out. Klopp would have struggled if he inherited that.

Well, I don't think we'd challenge with Klopp now. But after 2-3 seasons, we definitely would. There's no chance we ever challenge with Ole.

Somewhere out there
95% of Liverpool's success is down to Klopp? Ninety-five? I don't know what to say to that really.
You're right, it's more like 99%.

Similar to us with Sir Alex, yes there were lots of other great working parts, scouts, assistants etc, but it was 99% the great man.

Klopp is spectacular, we saw it at Dortmund and we're seeing it here now even vs. Guardiola, the gurning feckwit is the best in the game.

We can slag off Woodward all we want (and with just cause) but the last three managers didn’t fail just because of him, they were shite.

Moyes was out of depth, Van Gaal was over the hill and bat shit crazy and Mourinho was poison.

They were all backed significantly in terms of funds and they all spent it on crap.

Didn't Liverpool finish 2nd last season and spend nothing in the Summer? He'd be perfect here ;)
:)

Us not getting Kloop maybe a blessing in disguise, the genius of SAF made the Glazer model(challenging on a relatively tight budget)of running the club possible, getting another great manager Kloop would have kept their model feasible.

Even with a very good manager like Mourinho, if you want to compete with PSG, Real, City or Juventus you have to spend like them, you can't spend like them and loot the club at the same time, maybe they will sell up and fcuk off.

This is B.S on so many levels, just because Woodward has spent money doesn't mean he's spent it well if he had spent well we wouldn't have spent so much.

He's like a landlord who won't fix a leak and then boasts about how much he spends on emergency plumbers.
