Bollocks. Some of the comments on here at certain points were ridiculous and obsessive at times regardless of form. Was certainly borderline hatred.

For some reason, some United fans always need a player to hate regardless of what they do on the pitch, and Jesse was the latest in a long line. Think it'll be lindeloff next.
No, it will be McTominay. We go after our own Academy graduates here.

Dya know what? You're bloody right. People who've never stepped foot in Manchester complaining about "local lads" etc.

Genuinely interested in some examples if you have them?

Over the years I've mostly just noticed people bemoaning how ineffective he is as an attacking player and/or talking about his movement.

Lingard also was the worse player in that line of 'hated players'. Nani was actually a good player and the other player who is still in that hated line is also pretty good... talking about Pogba.

Lingard had his moments but just isnt or wasnt good enough. He should be happy he managed to stay at a club like Manchester United for this long. Usually players of his talent dont end up at United and certainly not for such a long period. For him i hope he will do well at his next club and that the Jlingz brand will turn into a huge succes.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
No hatred (we don’t know him personally). But his performance (shit or worse performances) over the last I don’t know how many years are not good enough for a club like Man Utd. We can’t tolerate mediocrity here, if we want to be a top club
He was only truly shit for the first half of last season. 18/19 he was ok, and before that he was decent with a few good periods. Since then he basically hasn't played since Bruno joined.

Would have made a difference last night. It was the right game for Jessie to showcase his creative influence on the team
Actually last night reminded me of our toothless, pre-Bruno performances, performances in which Jesse Lingard often played a starting role.

Good luck to him, for me he epitomized everything that's wrong with the club since SAF left.

Good riddance, hope it's made permanent in the summer, I may seem cold but I have zero interest in coddling awful players just because they played in our academy.

Best of luck to him out on loan. For him it’s a good chance to rebuild his career somewhat. For us, it makes good business sense as we probs want to offload him in the summer and this is a good chance to get some value out of him while we can.

He was getting paid £4m per year, performing awfully and then on top of that... acting like a clown constantly. Honestly, good riddance.

This is a really good move for him. He isn't getting into the starting line up ahead of VDB any time soon and a loan under a progressive manager with a long history of improving young players can do him a world of good. Hope he improves himself and comes back rejuvenated.

Hopefully he does well for them and they make it permanent

Can we not offload Jones to them as well?

Best of luck to Jesse on his loan move, one of Uniteds own came through the ranks.

Madness the wages he was on which simply highlights the worst of Woodward once again.

It usually isn't hate, people just like to interpret acerbic criticisms as hate.

I haven't disliked a United player's footballing ability (lack of) as much as Lingard since probably... Darron Gibson. Most of that is really down to the fact that, unlike someone like Dan James who is equally lacking in ability, Lingard has had a lot of chances that he really hasn't deserved.

Lingard invited the criticism with his poor play, programmed goal celebrations, commercial branding/licensing and overall abysmalness.
