I don’t understand all the hate on Lingard. Yes he is shite and offers almost nothing in attacking, but we already had Bruno and no longer need to start Lingard, he is no longer our concern. I reckon Lingard still had a role to play as a sub from the bench, he is good at running and pressing, will be good option to bring on in 70-80 mins when we need to hold a narrow lead in those tight games, especially when everyone start to get tired.

Well unless we could get a decent fee to help our other pursuits, I don’t see the need to selling him cheap.
I laughed out loud when I read that first line. "Yes he is shite"......I think that should help you understand where all the hate comes from!

He used to be pretty good though. Let's hope he can find some top form again. Last two years have been very poor from him overall.
I thought he would like playing for Ole and hit teams on the counter more, but we have rarely seen that at all.

I agree he did well for us for a while. Especially the season before the World Cup where he went on to play a key role for England too. My problem was that he was probably at his absolute peak that season, but that just made him a "good" player and not a high quality player of Utd standard. He really was playing to his extreme limits. I still believe he's probably our best off the ball runner (although VDB may be that man now), but unfortunately that's not enough to be good enough for Utd. His poor technique and lack of specialist attributes makes him a utility player at best. It really is time for him to move on to a mid table team which I think is his level.

Lingard is such an inspiration for the young kids. They can look at him and think "if someone awful like him can be a football player and make so much money, everyone can be and I also can be, no matter how shit I am.

I can't believe that he is still here. He is pathetic. And I can't believe there are still people here thinking he is good enough to be even on the bench for a club like United.

Welbeck was awful and still better, and I celebrated when he was gone. But now I prefer him over this "footballer".

Well we don’t get the same level of hate in our other shite players though. He is shite in attacking but does his job in pressing. In other words, he shouldnt start any of our games as no.10, but could still be an useful option off from the bench

I fear any money we get from selling Lingard will only go to extending Lindelof or Shaw's contract.

Wouldnt sell unless it guarantees sancho.

Think easily easily our 3rd best option for the wide roll after rash and greenwood

Sell even if the fee is peanuts! Get the wages off our bill, and get Smalling out if he's not in plans too.

Seems like the least Jose could do given what he did do us.

Woodward will use Levy ringing him up trying to sign one of our players as an attempt to play the alpha male role. Watch him ask for 50m or something stupid

Surely Mourinho isn't buying Lingard. That'd be a strange signing.

No surprise he's top performer in fitness tests, he didn't play so he didn't need to rest. He didn't play because he's been Championship standard for all but a handful of games he's played here.

Could you imagine? It would be so ill befitting of the man, too. Never before has one man given off such strong **** vibes and small cock energy.

On a more serious note, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he did price us/Lingard out of a deal. He has previous, as seen with Rojo to Everton, right? Obviously if reports are to be believed, of course.

I think Lingard should leave, just as Smalling did. They are too good as players to be denigrated by idiotic United fans.

Lingard is a good squad player, and deserves a hell of a lot more respect from our ‘fans’. He’s no longer in the first team squad, and he’s in need of a fresh challenge. He’s contributed to the team in a very difficult period, and always been available.

Would do well for spurs, and be a good squad option.

Not his biggest fan either but I don't get why Ole picked James over him if he wanted to rest Greenwood. Lingard is a much better player, could be a decent depth signing for Spurs if they get him for a low fee.

If we sell him, who replaces him in the squad? Nobody thinks he should start for us but we need more than 14/15 players through the season.

If the club were run properly we'd have already signed Sancho (who would at this point be directly replacing Rashford in the team), and then Lingard's place in the squad would have been replaced by someone like David Brooks or Sarr.

But of course we're a shithouse run by clueless idiots so who feckin knows. We'll probably sign no one in any forward position this window and still sell Lingard and end up massively short on fit players come November.

That'll be hard, how on earth would we replace his whole 1 goal 0 assists numbers from last year.

You're aware how difficult we're finding it to add to the squad, right? He offers more than James/Mata/Pereira and it's those 3 who'd benefit from Lingard leaving.

This can't be right. I think Spurs are trolling us. If they do bid, I would expect it to be far too low, even for Lingard.

Are you seriously worried about who could take Lingard's place in the squad? I would be happy just to get him of our books.

Anyone can be a body on the field, its not just numbers its quality we need. Lingars doesnt have it and should have been gone a long time ago.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time

James was much better than Lingard for the majority of last season. It was only right towards the end of the season that Lingard got back into somewhat decent form; for the rest of the season he was terrible.
