Got a PM from the newbies, Burrow says

Hi! In regards to the Joshua King-thread in the reserve forums: His agent has indeed confirmed that he is to be loaned out for a year, but denies that there will be any sorts of buy-out-agreement. It will be a simple, straightforward loan-deal, and Jim Solbakken (his agent) adds that Man Utd are determined to give King a chance when they see fit. Just wanted to add that little bit to avoid any rumours about King leaving permanently. :)
Great move for the lad.Chance for first team action out of the limelight and constant speculation in this country

It's a good taste of european experience. Hopefully he impresses there and comes back with plenty of confidence.

King to Mönchengladbach on loan

Borussia Mönchengladbach's director Max Eberl has confirmed that King will move to Gladbach on loan. ''King is a quick attacking player with big potential.''

King has not had his medical yet though but is expected to be given jersey number 15.

Hope to see Mathew Leckie and Yuki Otsu in action at Gladbach too, Marco Reus is quality as well. They seem to be a bit stocked in attack though so hopefully King gets his chance to play

By my count he played 4 minutes and 22 seconds during which time he committed one foul, lost one aerial duel and completed 3/4 passes - two short backwards passes and one short sideways pass. The failed pass was a short sideways pass.

All in all a very promising debut.

Missed a pen too. Looked decent, perhaps not at his very sharpest.

How is he coming along in the Bundesliga? Hopefully not another case of Kiko-Sampdoria type loan spell, haven't heard much.

Give him time. HAd he stayed with us he would have only been playing reserves. HOpefully he gets minutes, or withdrawn and sent on loan somewhere else in January if he isn't playing.

Hopefully he'll learn from his experience because he's got great potential. As a winger, as a striker he's quality. This is another example of how selfish certain clubs are - why loan a player if you won't give him a chance to express himself?

Loan him out to Molde next season
Think if we loan him, it should be to a championship or lower prem club. he needs that more then anything else and to stay fit obviously :(

@AdamSMarshall: Monchengladbach say Josh King has a groin problem and could return to #mufc: "We will talk to the club and see whether it still makes sense"

Obviously, but I doubt he'd get much gametime in a lower PL-club to be honest. Perhaps a loan to Peterbrough? I was sort of just joking about the Molde-comment, but it would be a great deal as he'll get regular first team football, while being monitored by someone who goes by his club like we do in United, from everything from philosophy to how they schedule their training. The only problem is that he'll not get matching against good enough opposition, but a 6 month loan in January could actually be a good thing. If we decide to take him back now that he's injuried, ofcourse.

He's back with United after BM cancelled his loan. Hopefully he'll be fit and go out on another loan, so this season wont be a total writeoff on his behalf.

All these injuries are starting to worry me. Needs a couple of full seasons of playing football if he is to develop into a United first team player soon.

Agreed.

The Norwegian U21-coach just recently suggested that King might come back to Norway on a loan-deal, where Molde would probably be the most obvious club. I really want this to happen, but I sort of wish that King will be matched against higher quality sides aswell..
