Yup.
  • Chelsea have Mudryk.
  • United have Sancho/Rashford/Martial/Garnacho.
  • Real have Vinicius.
  • Arsenal have Martinelli.
  • Spurs have Son?
  • Liverpool have Diaz/Gakpo/Darwin.
  • City have Grealish.
Who is Barca's LW?
I know the PL is becoming the Super League but we are not there yet. When was the last time the best players of the very best team in another top 5 league considered Arsenal or Spurs to be a reasonable destination for them?

It'd be negligent for any but the giants or state/oil clubs to try and procure Kvaratskhelia. Each and every one of the clubs below that rung need multiple signings and their money is wiser spent pursuing those signings.

Even in our current predicament it'd be unwise to go for the player in lieu of bolstering multiple positions, and the only way we ourselves enter the fray is post-buyout.

The player is also going to be a - or perhaps the - star player for league-rampaging side who might well pull up trees in the remainder of the CL. He isn't going to anything but a giant. Transfer fee plus wage and player stature ensures he goes right to the top or simply stays where he is.

€130m+; £300k+ wage is not an unreasonable set of numbers (taking the crown jewel from a Napoli ownership who are notoriously hard-nosed in transfer dealings might cost even more). Out of the reach for most by default.

Missed a penalty, blew a 1on1 with the keeper, generally wasn't good. So yeah, that's a bad game for him in the tweet

Because his thread should never be off page 1.
Let's hope Rashford could prove himself as a long term solution in the center forward position by the end of the season because as good as oshimen might be i think a rashford/kvarat combo will be much more enjoyable to watch and certainly more dynamic.

I'm sure even if he prefers to play from the left, he can play on the right. Sign him and make our forwards rotate in game. Sign all the world class talents and build something special, three forwards who can play in all three positions in one game.

Should be noted how many times he affects play directly through the middle of the pitch, and in the myriad of ways he does so too. He scored that wonder goal straight through the heart of the opposition by himself, but this time, he's effortlessly bouncing passes off others before laying the ball off for someone else to score.

I think this thing of him being purely a flanker will die off soon, as he's got the traits of an eclectic forward who will adjust, both tactically and improvisationally, across the attacking third.

It's not just his dribbling, but the speed of thought and movement as well as the frequency with which he chains passes with others that stands out; I think he is primed to do that with whoever is capable of playing good football - he's definitely not bound to a position or system, even if he is primarily known as left-winger at the moment.

Wouldn't at all be surprised to see him utilised more expansively at the right club, post-Napoli.

I think he was decent yesterday, nit just for the goal. Had a couple of good dribbles and one twos.

He reminds me a bit of Sancho to be honest. Which is also why I don't think you should sign him l. He's great of course but so was Sancho for Dortmund and since he's about to hit form, there's no place for both of them - especially with Rashford and Garnacho preferring the left side as well.

If we decided to replace Martial with just a back-up striker and make Marcus our main #9, Kvara is the player I want to us to slot on the left. Kvara left, Sancho middle, Bruno right. Garnacho, Amad and Antony to provide cover.

He needs an #10 that is also comfortable with drifting left so they can switch.

Players like him and Sancho thrive when paired with other players on the same wavelength that they can to work with. They would link up in that centre-left space beautifully.

Obviously this transfer would only make sense if Rashford became a central striker permanently.

I'm not so sure of that. Both players like to dribble from left wing positions, pass to the striker between the lines and receive it back and then go for the through ball. They can't both do it, they need somebody with complementing movement, not the same. Maybe if Sancho moves to the 10 for good it might work but if not I'd fear they're standing in each other's ways.

Yeah, you want as many combination footballers who have that full selection of movement after the pass in an attack as possible - it's what our best ever side was founded on and it's just impossible to stop because there are no set patterns and no position that is unnatural as they break.

I think he and Sancho would be in heaven on the same pitch (and Martial and Rashford)

But Sancho showed he could do that from both flanks time and again at Dortmund?

That's effectively what I was implying, yes. Kvara left, Sancho middle, Bruno right. With Kvara and Sancho interchanging.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
Surprised so many just talk about Bruno on the right as if it's just set in stone. I'm not convinced it's his best position and I think we can do better from the right (Antony?)

It just feels too conservative to have him there, I miss the days of seeing our wingers tearing up defences.

I was not impressed by him last night - even completely ignoring the missed penalty.

I thought he seemed to lack pace and is more of a playmaker type. It was a bit too easy for Frankfurt to nullify him by crowding him out and he lacked the pace or physicality to escape close attention. These types of wide forwards have struggled at Utd, where a bit of extra pace to get away from defenders has sometimes been lacking.

He reminds me a bit of Sancho to be honest. Which is also why I don't think you should sign him l. He's great of course but so was Sancho for Dortmund and since he's about to hit form, there's no place for both of them - especially with Rashford and Garnacho preferring the left side as well.
I agree with this. I don't see him as being a necessary or even sensible signing.

The only place he could maybe work is as a 10, but then for the money he'd demand you'd want a specialist there. And Bruno is obviously still in that position.

I'd call that a common misconception :) He was decent as a right sided 10 with Hakimi as a left wing back and three at the back but even then he drifted to the left a lot. In his best seasons, he played primarily through the left. Absolute beast there and from what I've seen so far I wouldn't have Khvaratskhelia ahead of that Sancho. It's not that he can't do a job there but I think it is a waste of talent of you play such a player in anything but his best position.

PS: Because people usually link to transfermarkt.de to counter this argument: They have very weird positional statistics for a lot of players. Better look at the heat maps on sofascore for those seasons. They paint a relatively clear picture of Sancho preferring the left channel in his standout seasons.

Yeah that might work. Though you'd probably still have to rotate a lot because Bruno will keep playing central occasionally and Antony is also a star in the making despite the criticism he currently faces

I was going by my own observations, tbh. Was watching Dortmund a lot then because of covetous eyes on Sancho and Hakimi, and my conclusion (backed by posts from the time) was Sancho is basically sonar and can and will play combination football with literally anyone who is capable of it.

If you are referring more to final actions in the attacking third, I see where you're coming from, but even then, Sancho is selfless, sharp and intelligent enough to choose the best options the majority of the time. Sancho is bound to the competence of others being able to relay and react as quickly as he can, which I don't think is a stumbling block with this kind of player - as a comparative, a less powerful running Rooney and Ronaldo rampaging together and not missing a beat.

It's not set in stone at all to be fair. It's partly because Bruno has been great from the RW in the 5 games or so he has played form there this season (he had his best game of the season so far on the right) and partly because Antony has not really reached the levels anticipated yet. But players can be rotated. It's an option, maybe the best one, maybe not. That would be for the manager to discover.

Yeah that might work. Though you'd probably still have to rotate a lot because Bruno will keep playing central occasionally and Antony is also a star in the making despite the criticism he currently faces
Here's the thing, you can have 4 high profile players behind the striker and with a busy schedule they will all get enough game time and be happy. This season we started with Rashford, Bruno, Antony and Sancho for those forwards positions behind the striker. They are all getting ample time. Even Garnacho is playing a lot.

City have been doing it for ages with players like Mahrez, Foden, Grealish, KDB and B.Silva (before Grealish it was Sterling). They've kept 5 high profile players happy by rotating. So I don't see why we can't do it with 4. You need a lot of depth in this league.

That would be an unbalanced front 3 imo. All three are direct players who thrive being on the end of the move rather than creating one. There's not enough creativity in that front 3. Not to mention that Garnacho is not ready for regular starts at the moment and that Rashford plays his worst when he's on the right.

Who's gonna keep possession when needed out of those three?

Agent gave an interview in italy, said Kvara loves real madrid
And Guti was his idol! :D I'm glad to see names starting to emerge for the summer but doesn't he play on the left?

He does. Can probably play centrally too. He's a right footed attacking mid. But he might clash with Vini in position.

Are Vini or Rodrygo being seen as long term strikers at all?

Yeah realistically we're not gonna be interested

Mind he's quite happy where he is right now, so unlikely he moves next summer

Yes, especially Vini. Rodrygo has many virtues but he lacks more regularity I think or finding his place.

Well, by naming them both, it seems that their agent is calling for a bidding to begin.
