Jones with a Scholes-esque over the top longball that Altidore actually controls perfectly and delivers a tasty cross for Dempsey to smash (while Bradley and the German players watch).

The difference between our top midfield and second line is huge. Bradley makes a major difference.

Typical reaction from other threads when one mentions the US beating a legit national side. If they're winning it's because it's a B/C opposition. If they're losing it's because the US is shit. Ho-hum.

4-3. Not sure Tim Howard could put that on a plate any better for Draxler.

Highly entertaining game. The result will hopefully help us carry some momentum in to the WCQ. We need to win two of the three and draw the other. I'd rather win them all though.

All players fit, this starting XI is probably what we will see in this month's qualifiers. Evans did a decent job at right back. How long is Chandler out?

Are RBs like Franklin, Loyd and Morales not yet good enough that a midfielder plays there?

What does a player like Lichaj have to do to get in the US side?

Sorry, Germany was playing without:
Neuer, Lahm, Hummels, Boateng, Badstuber, Schmelzer, Khedira, Schweinsteiger, Gündogan, Kroos, Götze, Müller, Reus, Gomez, Özil

10 of them usually would be the starting players.

What you got is a team with one starting player (Klose), some regular bench players and a lot of players that would never have gotten an invitation if Bayern and Dortmund would not have played the CL final...

And the German second string are still better talents than the US counterparts, save Dempsey and arguably Bradley and Howard. Or are we to believe Germany's second string shit?

Btw, I mentioned Germany only featuring a handful of regulars in the squad (in the England/Brazil thread) yet it's the same side the hammered Ecuador the other night.

We all know Germany was expected to win and if they had normal service resumes. Instead, roll out the "B/C side" excuses.

He just posted facts. You label them excuse, probably because you don't like what they imply. The US had a good game, but not against a 'legit' national side, as you called it.

What a response from the US. So easy to lose all composure after a late equalizer, but to come back and win it like that away in the Hex may be the biggest statement yet from Klinnsman's US side.

Was a massive result. The US controlled much of that match and that Beckford goal was so unjust yet typical. Came as a result of a stupid bonehead tackle attempt by Zusi that yielded a free kick to Jamaica. Fortunately, the US got a corner and Bradley managed to slip a pass into the box and Evans controlled fantastically and set himself up for a swivel-and-shoot. The attacking foursome were fairly quiet much of the match. Abysmal at times.

Sitting second in the table behind Costa Rica, both on seven points (technically first as they beat Costa Rica but the table has CR ahead on goal differential which I do not believe is the first qualifying tie-breaker - it's head-to-head) and Mexico third, also on seven points but having played an additional match. Take care of business this month, hopefully max six points, and qualification should occur with 2-3 matches leftover to trot out trialists.

Howard; Evans, Gonzalez, Besler, Beasley; Bradley, Cameron; E Johnson, Dempsey, F Johnson; Altidore.

Panama is missing their best striker, Blas Perez (sickness).

These refs...the linesman is an idiot and the ref gave a foul to Panama when Dempsey got elbowed.

That pass was amazing. And he's stuck at the back for Stoke...he's a pretty good midfielder.
