I don't watch French football so haven't seen much of him. Last night I finally got what people are going on about. He's sensational. Neymar can go feck himself. This lad is the real heir apparent to Messi/Ronaldo.
The problem is that the right wing isn't where Mbappé is at his best, it's a bit like playing Ronaldo on the right, he performs well but it limits his options. He is better upfront or on the left that way he can use his ability to dribble in traffic, shoot and also cross with his left foot which is fairly good. Now, you can imagine that Neymar is a problem because that's where he plays and unless Tuchel moves one of Neymar or Cavani, Mbappé will be the one having to play in a less favorable role.

He was pretty damn good on the right last night! Mind you, if he’s better on the left, I know what I would do in Tuchel’s shoes...

It's a testament to his quality that he's made the right wing his own even though it is his less favoured position, United fans like to talk up Martial but he should take a look at Mbappe and how he's adapted

Mbappe's long term position is as a no 9 imo

Said before, but I think Mbappé is one of the best players in the world now. None of the ‘potential’ malarkey. He’s one of the top 10 forward players in the game today. He will potentially be the undisputed number 1, but there are not 10 forwards ‘better’ than him today, and that’s not based on his future potential, that is when choosing a player to help you win your very next game.

He's class. Let's hope it doesn't balloon his ego, because if he keeps a level head and keeps working hard he could own the game as Messi and Ronaldo wind down. He's not only incredibly skilled and has the end product, but most importantly he's very fun to watch.

I couldn't agree more. M'Bappe is a special talent with a special mentality. Always wants to play no matter where. I hate it when players start to cry about not having their "customized" position to justify shit performances.
Considering where he was a year and half ago, the progress his career has made is outstanding

He must have been very frustrated playing with Giroud, who is useless. Well, he has his uses, but just not any that help his team score goals sadly.

His lovely back-heel roll yesterday deserved more competence, but Olivier fecked it up, just as he did when Mbappé squared the ball was squared to him in the first half.

A very special talent. Neymar potentially moving from Messi's shadow to Mbappé's. Perez may help him with that though.

Another season in France probably wouldn't hurt Mbappé, but a move to a big league should definitely be on his horizon soon. Which unfortunately, more than likely, means Madrid or Barcelona.

Amazing player, only 19 as well.

My main worry is that the lack of quality opposition in the French league will lead to him stagnating a bit.

Nothing new being said here but he's bound for big things. Wins the WC now, scores in the final, got two league wins with two different teams, incredibly mature, pretty much a full package already, probably gone to Madrid in two-three years.

Any chance of that Mbappe/Martial swap being true?

Seriously we have to contest where he goes

He should move on from PSG and cement himself as a great in the footballer world. What he has achieved at 19 is frightening.

I'd say we've about as much chance of signing him as we do of winning another treble (hint = no chance).

Hes incredible really. Scoring in a world cup final win at the age of 19. Cant wait til he leaves PSG, even if itll probably be to Madrid. Has some careeer ahead of him.

French TV said he was the first U20 since Pelé to score in a WC final.

In your closet, in your head!
Come to United Kylian, we appointed Kieran McKenna as 1st team coach just for you

More seriously, he needs to choose his next coaches very carefully. They'll be absolutely instrumental if he is to develop into the best in the world. Tuchel is a great start methinks.

Really nice goal but he was nowhere to be seen till the ref screwed Croatia over. I think people have gone a tad overboard with him during the world cup. There have been many better performers in the French team itself. He's done well in phases here and there.

For his age he is incredible though. A lot can happen but he looks the next world's elite player.

I agree with all of this. Today he mostly ran into blind alleys.

Obviously the guy has a tremendous potential, Messi&Ron-like, but whether he can realize it is the question. I wonder how long he we be kept at PSG, while PSG is the top club, French league is certainly not the best and competitive league league. I don't think Mbappe can develop and grow there effectively.

Sour grapes. Lost the ball a couple of times because he has licence to try things but otherwise he ran rings around Strinic and was always a threat, and him not even being a RW specialist makes it even more impressive.

Fecking outrageous player. You can't really call him a flair player. He's not the most skilful player, but I have never seen a young player with such explosive pace and most importantly, knowledge of how to use his pace. He always knows where the space is. As soon as he gets the ball, he's on his bike.

Yeah he wasn't amazing today before his goal.

Still a very good tournament. Really wish we had him.

All the praise for him is deserved. Even small things - the cut back cross that led to Pogba's goal - most players would've drilled that across the box instead. He's got game intelligence in abdundance and that alongside his skill and pace will take him to the very, very top.

All playing at a position that isn't his best. He's showing that players need to stop being babies and step up wherever they're asked to play

He has stepped into the footsteps of Podolski, Donovan and Michael Owen. A worthy successor.

Also into those of Pele and Beckenbauer, but who wants to be named in a sentence with those guys eh

Good players usually win a yard on their defenders, great players might win two yards on them, Mbappe feels like he's three yards above all the rest, he's a freak, above young Messi in explosive power, and maybe even better than 96/98 Ronaldo.

What do you guys think will happen to his game once he loses that extra 2 or 3 yards on everyone else?. I'm not really sure what to think about that.

That transfer is never going to happen.
The best we could hope is for Mbappe to Transfer some of his football intelligence over to Martial. Martial has the talent, he just needs to change his body language and use his brain more.

Think talk of Neymar and Alves telling him he needs to improve on the ball is some sort of a joke. He uses the ball very well.

I completely disagree. Yes, he didn't get much chances in this world cup final but still scored with his only semi-decent chance, outside of the 1v1 he had against Subasic from the right side. He was our best player against Belgium and for him to score in the final is just the coronation on an incredible world cup for the teenager. He is world class, and even though I know he will go to Madrid next, I'm proud that he chose to go to Paris first to try and get a CL. Shit, even if we never get there, just winning the world cup is more than I could ever ask for and more than CR7 or Messi ever achieved as teenagers or grown-ass men.

He is 19 years old, he has a lot of time and room for development before thinking about his physical decline.
