Almost certain to leave Shalke on a free this summer, Barcelona have decided to pass on him and Us, Arsenal and of course Bayern are linked with interest, he can play as a #6 or #8 and has even operated as a #10 and he's physically certainly cut out for the PL. Whoever nabs him will do one of the best pieces of business next summer IMO, he still has his best years ahead of him and is a bargain in a market where Lazio want €70M for the Savic lad.

Agreed but Bayern seem to have first refusal for such cases.

I saw him for Bochum a few times and I've been a fan ever since. There isn't really anything suggesting he might come here though, unfortunately.

Almost certainly Bayern bound, there's probably already an agreement in place.

If he doesn't go to Bayern I'll be shocked. Especially now they're having a little wobble, they won't wanna lose their throne so will snap up as many rivals players as possible as is usually the case with them.

Good player, but wonder where will he play in our team , he won't accept a bench - rotation role and if he plays means een lesser game time for Herrera.

Carrick retires next summer so I guess Jose would go for a holding midfeilder or a defensive midfeilder more than a box to box operator, although I like the player.

Players like fabinho or dendonker or dier are mourinho no type players who have positional dicipline.

Also one thing I wanted to say is there won't be so much space in the epl like the ones showed in the video.

Yes, they are very afraid of Schalke who have been breathing down their neck these past couple of years.

Honigstein has been saying for months that the deal to Bayern is already in place. That's probably why he's even in this situation - he might have extended long ago if foreign clubs were more interested.

FFS - On a free... and doesnt Brandt have a €12m clause this summer... Bayern are going to have a hell of a team again...
Id love us to get either of those two but especially Goretzka who I think could form a really solid midfield three with pogba and matic that still had a threat going forwards as well - but yeah probably bayern bound instead

Probably going to Bayern as most people are suggesting. Love how Bayern have made the whole Bundesliga their b!tch.

But this is the exact reason it will always be a boring league.
Yeah and its getting worse as well

22 out of the last 40 titles have gone to Bayern
12 out of the last 20
7 out of the last 10
and 5 out of the last 5

I really do think a European Super League is inevitable as the top clubs in so many countries are becoming far removed from the rest that its becoming boring

A European Super League will be doomed from the start though.

I honestly don't think it'll ever happen. More likely changes to allow different funding or boosts for other clubs or something in each league.

That will never happen. And what you are saying is not really true either. Sure Bayern and Juventus have ruled their domestic leagues the last decade, but Bayern are not very good this season and Juventus look much weaker as well. Napoli on the other hand looks very good - so that league is not a given any more. The German league is weak when it comes to top teams, but this might change with new investment and clever ideas. England is completely open, France has PSG but Monaco won last year. Spain has two major players and one that one the league not long ago. It fluctuates and certain clubs deserves to be up there. What do you want? NHL-style leagues? Drafts and socialism? Forget about it!

Goretzka is such a no brainer for a club like us. The guy is quality and will do well in the PL for sure. I hope Jose takes notice of him.

Not if Bayern want them. They can cherry pick any player they want, and will eventually get them.
Like de Bruyne, Gündogan, Sane, Vidal (before he moved to Juventus). Good point buddy.

Him, Martial, Memphis, Pogba and Lukaku were staples of my quadruple winning Football Manager Mobile side a few years ago so I'm 100% here for this.

They cannot sign each an every player. They will get whoever they are interested in. These young players are running down their contracts so they can go to Bayern for free. Lewandoski was getting offers from a lot of the top clubs, but decided he wanted to to Bayern, and Bayern only.

Sorry if your team is one of Bayern's b!tches.

I named players who Bayern were after specifically. Sorry if you're talking about stuff you have no clue about.

Do people actually watch him play for Schalke? He's talented but he's hardly taking the league by storm and dominating games in midfield. It's his fifth season now at Schalke and I just don't see him as a player who'd make a huge step up if he signed for an elite team. Obviously a good deal for free, but we should find a way to make Martinez/Thiago/James work as our midfield 3 or Vidal/Thiago with Müller as a 2nd striker. Can't see Goretzka doing more than fight with Tolisso for a role as a back-up midfielder.

I think he's a bit overrated. At least his points tally in my fantasy football game says so. ;)

What @Balu said.

I think people caught in the notion that average would be just happy sitting on the bench at big (foreign) clubs with rare start when starter out injured. In reality, players still want to start even at club with less ambition for a chance to get into their national team. Unless you pay stupid wage and sign on fee which defeat the point of cheaper squad player, when there are quality players available for free with big wage which is better for pushing the starter and potential stake a claim of the starting spot themselves if the circumstances are right.

Hey don't besmirch Schalke :D they didn't sweat BVB, Leipzig or Leverkusen at one point either and how wrong they were. Take the players before they become a threat.

Actually my true intention was they won't want anyone else in Germany getting him thus further strengthening, but still, it's amusing to glorify the mighty Schalke. And Bayern are pure cherry pickers of the highest order, only a numptie would deny that.

And none of them would have intrested bayern. They have better talents than these already at the club.
I'm sure Gündogan would have, if it wasn't for his injury issues. Talent/ability-wise he's comfortably at Thiago's and Vidal's level.

And Bayern's two wingers more talented than Sane are 33 and 34 years old. He was perhaps a bit too young at the time of his move, but now he'd be really useful to them.

Bayern might just want him to weaken a competitor rather than because they need him. Bayern is constantly ruining the German league by their anti-competitive behaviour. I think he would be better off as a starting player for United rather than warming the Bayern bench. I like Goretzka especially for free, however, I feel Savic from Lazio would be a better fit for United if the price is excluded from the equation.

Didn't realize you worked for Bayern. Feck, did not know you guys were after every single player, even though I made no mention of that. Sorry about the misunderstanding.

Schalke and their free transfers. Not sure why but they keep on losing good/decent players for nothing.

End of 2018 players like Goretzka, Max Meyer will be out of contract.

2017-18: Choupo-Moting, Kolasinac
2016-17: Joel Matip
2015-16: Fuchs

Before that Lewis Holtby had 6 months on contract and Spurs agreed fee transfer, later Spurs paid compensation to sign him in Jan itself.

Tolisso, Thiago, Vidal. How would he get in that Bayern side ahead of those guys.

Here if, as it's believed we will try and sign Griezmann I can't see us moving to a 433 to accommodate him.

He'd suit arsenal perfectly and would be a good next step for him in eventually ending up at a big club :smirk:
