Hypothetically, yes of course. Guaranteed CL positions.
But he's proven over a decade that that CL position is basically the only thing he'll get you. No real league run, no nous in Europe, he's won one cup... Just having that comfy boring position would satisfy you as a fan?

If he can stabilise us as a guaranteed champions league team for the next 3/4 seasons, I'd take it.

Anyone listening to TalkSport just now?

Claude from ArsenalFanTv was on and just admitted live on air that he called his marriage off after only 6 weeks because she wouldn't allow him to go to Arsenal matches.:lol::lol:
Not to go too Seinfeld, but who are these people telling their partners where they can and can't go on a Saturday afternoon or Wednesday night?

Could be different at a club with a few stronger personalities.

If Ferguson had retired at some point between '08 and '12 and Wenger could have come in and built a front 6 and just left the back 5 mostly intact (VDS and Neville replacements were needed) and have Evra-Vidic-Rio as the core of the back 5 and Giggs, Rooney and Fletcher who've all won massively and are mentally strong in the front 6, I think he'd have done well.

Carrick would have probably had a proper breakdown, though.

What did he say?
It was before the CL tie, he basically said that himself and Arsenal do not get enough respect. That he sees himself as a world class player and that he deserves to be considered among the best in the world.
I mean when some of the best players in the world do not display this arrogance and just focus on their match (in public anyway), why would he tempt karma to be bitch on him ?

I think in his case, telling him not to go watch football isn't being controlling it's called 'an intervention'.

Still, that can't possibly be real. No one is that crazy. There comes a point where you're too "good" a fan.

Giroud is a complete dick. He reminds me of RiP in that aspect.

Wenger with a near infinite transfer budget would be pretty interesting, I must say.

If he pulls out a guaranteed top 4 finish every year on mostly limited budgets you'd have to think he'd be better if that wasn't an issue.
Wenger has plently of funds, he just refuses to spend it. For the last 4 years he has told us as much.

In the summer if Arsenal sack Wenger and LvG finishes you fifth would you, the fans, want Wenger in? Hypothetical question.
I believe it might be win-win for both of us. Wenger with the machine of United behind him might rejuvenate. It's an interesting hypothetical, certainly.

No, we don't want a specialist in failure.

If you assess Wenger this season, he hasn't been any better than LVG. This also a manager who has had time to assess his squad over years and still doesn't fix obvious issues. Like you know a top DM and top CB the squad was screaming out for all summer. I'd rather not have Wenger.
At least from LVGs point of view we can all here and see what he wants to bring in, in the summer. I wouldn't trust Wenger with the task of making us a better team defensively, or signing good CBs/balanced midfielders.
I like Wenger as a manager but if he is the option, well you might as well stick with LVG and give him some more time tbh.

Fair point. Though he probably just needs some therapy and could keep the season ticket. Root causes!

Considering we started djourou Eboue and squillaci in important matches just a couple years ago, I think our defenders and depth is indisputably better now.
But with precisely the same result. Total collapse once you hit any sort of pressure at all.

Some fall into the trap of saying 'when you meet a good team for the first time', but that is not it. Arsenal can beat any team on the planet on any given day if it goes right for them, its not talent or lack of it, but a complete inability to deal with pressure, and you have to look at Wenger, its about the fourth group of players that have had the exact same problem, he is the only common factor.

As soon as the must win games turn up, you go to shit. Every year. Christ, you were gifted the FA cup last year and even then almost fecked it up at the final hurdle, against a woeful hull side.

Nah, better safe than sorry. Do both.
Maybe we could make sure his therapist is a Spurs fan. We could record it and televise it once his sessions are over and donate the money to Arsenal's transfer budget.

No offense but this entire post is utter nonsense. We beat spurs Liverpool and Everton just to get to the final. Then when we faced massive pressure (going down 2-0 in 8 minutes) we fought back to win.

Your points are inconsistent even within your own post. Some people just believe whatever they want and fit facts in afterwards.

Self belief is needed at this level for footballers but there is between that and clear delusion. In a way I like it when players say these things because it's change from the usual politically correct speeches they give but it's the result is funny. The chances he missed were golden, specially the rebound with the open goal.

Should call it a day, hire a coach and become the technical director. His ideas are clearly outdated.

He does seem to need a number 2 like Quieroz was for Ferguson, who bores and educates the team into how to be disciplined before tough games. Although that wouldn't fix their inability to deal with counter attacks when they're on the front foot.

People lauded their performance against Citeh, but my monocle damn near fell out in the first 15-20 minutes of the 2nd half when they opened up the game for no good reason at all. Wenger should have been reining them in after 2 or 3 minutes of that potentially suicidal phase.

Wenger should go in the summer......have a few nice holidays......then he should replace Hodgson after the Euros 2016 (Preferentially already before the tournament but that will not happen).
For me he's the perfect candidate for that job.
