One day they'll realize that an elite coach is more important than whatever individuals they collect
Maybe the elite coaches already realize that its a dumpster fire there and stay away from that club.

Their best team was the one with Zlatan and Cavani. The Neymar/Mbappe and now Messi trident makes the team weaker. I mean, some of their midfielders could barely trap the ball. So slow and ponderous.

That should be the end for psg project for Qatar. Messi leaving, neymar 31yrs old and a burden more than an asset. That leaves only mbappe who would be leaving soon. Other than that, there’s isn’t a single player who’s is world class and can compete with top sides in Europe. Winning Ligue 1 was never the main objective for them and they have failed miserably in champions league.

Premier league is where the party at. They are never gonna get exposure they crave in ligue 1 moreso now. With UAE and Saudis in the most watched league on the planet amongst other big boys, all the focus would be on them, nobody cares about the Qatar project in French league. I think they gonna sell or move away gradually from psg now.

Hopefully these wankers have learnt that running a real football club like a FUT team doesn't actually work if they're going to take us over.

I hope so, I can't stand PSG.

Same here, with the potential conflict of interest they'll look to put their eggs in the United basket
Yeah, that’s what I think too. If they end up buying us, they would rather prefer to completely focus on united than creating a potential mess of owning psg too which would be useless to them anyway after acquiring the biggest giant in football playing the most watched league in the world. PSG fulfil nothing to them now. There is a reason they are willing to pay £5b for united even after owning PSG.

They’ve a really terrible squad. That midfield today was atrocious. Two caf transfer favourites from the summer in there and all.

Atrocious game from their midfielders especially from caf favorite Fabian Ruiz.

They can piddle their way through Ligue 1 with little effort and then expect to turn it on against Europe's elite come February/March.

Not gonna work.

Fabian defines average. Napoli look a million times better in midfield without him boring the life out of things

The best team they assembled was actually in Tuchel's first season. People that watched them regularly especially in the first half of the season will know how dangerous they were.
If not for Neymar's injuries they win at least one CL in 2018 or 2019. The level he was operating at in both years was insane.

They were never favorites in the Zlatan era but those teams would still beat this one easily. Prime Matuidi and Motta are walking all over their current midfielders.

Might be because I really enjoyed watching that PSG team, the one with Pastore was good. I find little joy in the current side.

Agree with others

Completely separate from anything happening with United, you’d think the PSG project is coming to an end. The UWS mag a couple of issues ago (before any serious links to Qatar wanting Utd) nodded to the Qataris getting fed up with PSG and non-competitive French football

Isn’t PSG partly up for sale already?
Yeah just seen online they are open to selling a percentage of the club and had already received a bid of 4bln for the whole thing back in November.

I think they’ll slowly back out and focus on United. Most likely Jassim owns United with QSI as minority investment. Basically double backed.

Mbappe's decision to stay at PSG is really paying off I see.

I felt he had done his time there and this summer was the right time for him to join a bigger club in a better league. PSG's season so far indicates he took the wrong decision.

They are going nowhere with this "CL or bust" mentality.

It's quite telling about the size of their failure, given the investment and fact they've basically been able to half arse the domestic side of things and focus entirely on the Champions League, when you consider even shambolic owners have had Champions League success with their clubs

I’d actually argue that being able to ‘half arse’ their domestic football is a major factor behind their failure. It’d take a very special manager to keep a team of mercenaries primed and match sharp for the Champions League when they’re probably inclined to see most Ligue 1 fixtures as dull and pointless.

I kinda recall when the takeover happened, the plan was to sign players from the French league mainly which would distribute money around the league. Then Leonardo came in and changed direction. I might be wrong as I saw this mentioned 10 or so years ago now.

Some of them literal midgets too, like the italian midfielder who supposedly is "elite".
excuse me but was it not that same Italian midfielder who gave a total masterclass at Wembley in last Euro final against your English boys??
Thanks

yeah let's marvel at Superleague....oups sorry premier league.
Let's always have the same winners in CL....best way to destroy European football interest in the long term but you English fans of course won't complain, especially if you can continue to buy our best french talents

Their league is shit which does them no favours. That'll not change anytime soon. Think the PSG project isn't far off being finished with

actuzlly, playing in such a weak league (look at the other French clubs results in European cup this season...lol) has done themfar more bad than good.
I'm convinced playing in a strong league is by far the biggest thing they misses when it comes to CL
