I would effing love if we won the league cup .a cup is a cup. So is Charity Shield. Of course I'd rathe win the fa cup than leagup cup, and I think it's fine both sides playing their b sides, but that doesn't change the fact they don't want to win it. Saying otherwise is just stupid. The loss hurts. Of course it does.

Is it any different to Arsenal fans been unhappy with just the FA Cup in recent years? They've not won a major trophy (League/CL) since 2004, and we've not won one since 2005, but that doesn't mean we can't aim for them (or at the very least believe we should be aiming for them).
Refresh my memory, what year did Arsenal win the C/L?

Well, personally I am gutted we lost.

It's an opportunity lost. In my opinion the more games the club plays and the deeper it goes into ANY competition the better.

I can understand managers assigning priorities but at the end of the day as a fan I want to watch the club as often as possible and get to as many finals as possible.

Given that he's explicitly stated "league/CL" I think it's abundantly clear that in Arsenal's case he's referring to their last league title.

Stop trying to be a smartarse.

Apprently VVD didnt train yesterday, worrying.
Ugh, I'd be ok with Gomez and Matip or Lovren but not a partnership of the latter two.

Losing on Saturday wouldn't be a disaster but I'd rather we have the momentum going into the City game.

We will lose if Van Dijk (and Gomez) is not fit, I'm sure of it. On one hand I feel he will definitely be able to play with an injection, on the other hand I don't want him to aggrevate it with respect to the games against Napoli and City upcoming, so it's a difficult one. I'm guessing he won't play though.

2 things are certain. 1) Gomez will start against Chelsea. 2) Lovren wont play. He only just had his first 90 mins for 10 weeks.

Imo VVD should be risked, playing with an injection or whatever. Play him Chelsea, rest him Napoli, we can beat them without him. Play him City. Thats the way I see it.

I'm not so sure Gomez can perform at the same level without van Dijk. We need him to stay away from injuries.

Should be a really good game tomorrow, would be very impressed if we can somehow come away with a win.

I think both sets of fans feel this way. A win for either of would be fantastic, but a loss wouldn't be incredibly damaging for either.

Draw probably.

Never excited about our trips to Stamford Bridge or playing Chelsea ever for that matter. If the option was there, I'd take a draw right now especially with Van Dijk seemingly out of it.
I think that Lovren will line up alongside Gomez and we'll be back to Milner, Henderson and Wijnaldum in midfield.

I'm not a fan of that midfield. I'd play Keita instead of Henderson.

I thought Keita started off well? Especially against West Ham at home? What happened since then?

He got rotated out as other players gained fitness. He's had a couple of meh games as well against Brighton and Spurs. He's been better defensively than he has offensively so far. He does take up good positions when we don't have the ball.

He played the full game on Wednesday so I'm not sure if he'll play tomorrow. I'd start him but Klopp has too much trust in Henderson.

I'd rather Keita played as well but I think Klopp will go with Henderson.

Both Keita and Fabinho to miss out then? It does seem like they haven't settled particular well yet. Plus others have upped their games and are more deserving of a start.

Still I would imagine Klopp will want to start with one of his mega signings surely? £100m+ sat on the bench.

Some new signings need more time settling in. Klopp didn't start playing Robertson until November/December last season and now he's one of our most consistent performers.

I think Keita's been a mixed bag but Fabinho simply wasn't ready to immediately transition from Ligue 1 to the Premier League. I could see that watching him during pre-season. He grew into the game on Wednesday but his start was slow, and he looked like he was struggling to fully understand what his role was in the team.

I want more from Keita. We signed him to be a big player for us and games like tomorrow are a good opportunity for him to show what he can do.

We're lucky to be in a position where neither are under immediate pressure to perform because Milner and Wijnaldum have been so good. The improvements in defensive area's have meant that we're not as reliant on scoring 3/4/5 goals to win a game.

I think that's the key. You have a number of players performing well so you won't miss the likes of them being sat on the bench. As you say though they were both bought to start at that money so they will need slowly integrating in to the XI. If the likes of Milner and co keep performances high though it will be very difficult for Klopp to pick his best side.

I would obviously have preferred both to hit the ground running, but since others have performed better, they shouldn't be ahead of them because of a pricetag, a name or whatever..

Look at Sanchez playing ahead of Martial for an example of how disruptive that can be. Keita and Fabinho will have to outperform Henderson, Wijnaldum and Milner to get in the team, and that's the way it should be.

Van Dijk posted on Instagram earlier that he's ready for the game tomorrow so I'm going to assume that he's fit to play.

Don't laugh when you hear it, but Milner is currently one of the best midfielders in Europe. Be very difficult to bench him. Wijnaldum and Henderson have very defined roles and execute it well, so they are very difficult to dislodge.

Its not that Keita and Fabinho are particularly bad, it's just that their midfield is already very good.

Milner's been incredible under Klopp. Doesn't matter where he plays he always seems to give us something.

He's got more to his game than Henderson does as well.

He is just incredibly consistent. Young players out there looking for a professional to look up to should look no further than Milner, the epitome of a professional.

He's a guy who properly looks after himself in terms of training, completely outran the team in lactate fitness test even though he is 32. The work he puts in a match is very good and hopefully that will make Keita and Fabinho more comfortable when playing.

I think we'll have to rotate more eventually. Christmas is such a congested period for fixtures and will test everyone's fitness, but there's no way that Milner and Wijanldum can play every game in that period.

We'll probably have to play Sturridge, Shaqiri, Clyne and a few others as well during that period.

That could mean he's got a few beers chillin' in the fridge ready to watch the match at home. I'm ready for the game in that sense.
He's traveled with the squad so I'm optimistic that he'll play.

“Warnecke, who at 35 years of age in 2005 became the oldest person to win a swimming world title since 1971, has accepted a proposal to work with Liverpool’s nutritionist Mona Nemmer.

Nemmer, formerly of Bayern Munich is “The best nutritionist ever”, according to the drink specialist.

Drinks from Warnecke helped swimmer Dara Torres come out of retirement, after having a child, and make her best times for 20 years at the age of 41.

The improvement was so dramatic it led to suggestions doping may be at play, and Torres took the step of volunteering for extra drug tests to help keep her name clean."”

Might’ve been posted before me. Found it interesting since many have predicted here we’ll get tired in January/Feb.

I wasn't underwhelmed by his signing, but I wasn't overwhelmed by it either. Just an "oh, that makes sense for us" kind of reaction - But he's been great for us, both on & off the pitch.
