Will be interesting to see how Liverpool fans react if another Arab state comes sniffing around considering the amount of shit they give City. Will they stick to their principles or will just accept the dirty money like the rest?
Already way too many people on Twitter calling out for the Saudis to buy us. What the fecking hell is wrong with people.

Someone like Ratcliffe would be nice. Not fussed to see the end of FSG, they weren't very good owners and just struck gold with the Klopp appointment.

They couldn’t imagine running the football club without James Milner treading the Anfield turf. And as the sun sets on his career, so too it falls on their stewardship of Liverpool Football Club.

John W. Henry and Milner Thelma and Louise-ing it off the edge of a cliff. Beautiful.

Clearly they have worked out that they can't compete in the long term so want to get out now!

Can't really see many bidders though at the sort of asking price they'd want?

To be fair, Klopp has never expressed a moral opinion on the oil money, he has opinioned how Liverpool and other clubs cannot match the spending power of the oil clubs, he may have a moral stance on it, but that remains to be seen.

Wonder if Klopp leaves when they are owned by a state or oil sheikh. Would be the biggest hypocrite ever if he doesn‘t

Have to wonder if Glazers are holding on to us partly out of spite at this current rate.
The difference I suppose is that aside from such a high valuation United having an enormous debt being paid by its own resources is another deal breaker? Plus them being inept cnuts is another of course.

We're going to see some interesting mental gymnastics from Liverpool fans. If they become another plaything of an oil state that'll be the end of them as an actual club.

These are scousers, they'll come up with some intricate excuse as to why it's different for them.

When people say Saudis, do they generally mean any oil state? Or can Saudi Arabia own two PL clubs?

Would've thought that isn't possible but I don't have a clue.

Fair play to them. They invested when they should, they won the league, the CL and now that they are unable to re invest they leave. But honest at least. Exactly opposite from Glazers.

Dubai have been looking to buy a team for a long time, so it could be them. If it's them, then any aspirations we have of winning anything are over. We can't compete with oil money while our owners take money out of the club.

Norway and their trillion dollar fund should just buy both United and Liverpool. Give us equal spending power every year and let us battle it out.

Private Equity may take an interest. I'm sure an American Private equity firms already owns a stake in Liverpool

Trying to sell at the top..? Football isn't much of a business as things stand.

My guess is club valuations will take a massive hammering over the next couple of years.

It's pretty much impossible to both make money and be successful in football.

Liverpool have done pretty well at it. Then you see Nunez, Melo etc Burning money pretty much.

Are there even any oil barons left though? Qatar, Saudi and UAE already have teams.

Wouldnt be surprised If we got some more Americans in.
Dubai? Owen as ambassador in the chopper. It's a bit convenient.

Some Americans who are even more penny pinching than FSG would be my choice. Go team

Dubai is in the UAE though, isn't it?

Who already own City.

No idea. I'm just joking anyway.

There was very heavy Saudi interest in Chelsea though, but they were supposedly a 'private bank separate from the Saudi state' if that's even possible considering what we know about Saudi Arabia.

Well, feck. Couldn't they allow us to enjoy the CL draw for one day?

I hope Elon Musk buys them
Quick, all United fans make fun of Musk on his pet social and trip him into buying Pool for revenge on us. It'll go great, just look at Twitter

Lets be honest if the Glazers dont go soon we will be closer to a Nottingham Forest or Leeds than a City or Liverpool.

They are looking for shareholders. Not selling the Club!
Upon reading their statement, this appears to be true rather than the whole club being put up for sale. They’re looking for investors

So their situation is no different to what the Glazers are doing currently with United

Tactical timing before the downslide really begins. They’re more likely to wind up with a complete tool in charge than some sugar daddy pumping billions of their own money in.

Could we not buy them and then close them down as a tax write-off.

In UAE’s case though, Abu Dhabi and Dubai basically have their own separate economies. I believe the Dubai royal family have been looking to invest in a club for a while.
