So Liverpool had him fligh to Boston and take 30 different tests on him, 26 of which indicated a concussion, just so Bild could write a small article about it, put it behind their paywall, where only few people even read it, just to defend a German goalkeeper? I don’t think so.
I think from what we’re reading and from what was rumoured immediately after the game, it is more likely than not, actually almost certain, that he was concussed. Looking at the game, it is more likely than not, that the concussion was caused by Ramos (wether purposely or not remains unclear). It’s not that important, actually. Important is, that we by now can say almost with certainty, that Karius suffered a concussion.
The very second we have that knowledge or even indication, I think it’s highly insensitive to keep on criticizing him for this game. Especially as those two blunders fit perfectly to the symptomatology of a concussion. I think it’s highly unfair and distasteful to keep mocking or criticizing him. Any other game he played is fair game. But this one should be excluded from any criticism whatsoever.
At least that’s how I see it.
