The biggest question has to be why he waited so long to make changes? Around 75 minutes was it? And it was clear that we were being completely out-number in midfield which was giving them so much control. I can't understand that at all.

I can remember the last time I saw any team look so poor defensively either. I was going to put the first two penalties down to individual errors, but as it went on Liverpool looked like scoring everytime they went forward. The 3rd pen was a blatant dive, he shouldn't have been sent off for that.

Moyes needs to turn to porn for inspiration. No imagination, no vision, no hope.

75 mins and losing is one of the options on Soccer Manager. Maybe he's taking his tactics from the game?

You are plastic if you think, I would sing praise for a team that does not deserve it. If we put at least an effort and lost 3-0, I would give the players credit. But this performance was nothing short of abysmal. Against Chelsea, United lost 3-1 and I supported the team effort, but today United showed none of that.
I'm plastic? You just said you want to hear our fans boo and that you would boo yourself. The crowd didn't praise the team, they sang in defiance and it is commendable. I'd rather that than silence or booing. You want to have a word with yourself and wind your neck in, fair weather fan.

I have been in support Moyes camp but the dithering in his decision making is really worrying. SAF or even lesser good managers would have changed it soon. It is no crime taking RvP and Mata off if they aren't doing anything. If we go out in CL with limp perfromance and lose to City, I think that might be final nail in coffin.
Will need a big damn coffin then, plenty of nails in it already. He should have changed things much earlier, I get the impression he is afraid of upseting certain players by taking them off even when they are not really playing well.

Moyes and his "tacticians" - out. Fellaini can stay. 4-4-1-fecking-1 every day of the week. 11 individuals - we were a team last year even with scapegoats like valencia and young. This year we are the furthest from one in teh whole league. part of that is a few players not caring as they're off, another is the management and the "training" - we have no tactics and as a team have no clue.

Playing a team with pace all over their front line? Rather than 3 let's only have 2 midfielders one of whom has seemed to lost his legs, and do the same in defence! Glorious strategy.

It was so painfully obvious we'd lost the game as soon as went a goal down. Shite and unimaginative tactics will continue to cost us games this season. This board rip the piss out of Rodgers but we'd be doing well to get a manager of his ability.

Red Card for Casemiro!
That was the best lineup we could have put out, and we had a week to prepare for what was our biggest game of the season. And yet we fecked it up big time. In all honesty, we were so bad they steamrolled us, and were unlucky not to get another goal or two. Tell me, when else will we win?

My biggest worry is, there was no gameplan on display at all:

- Were we planning to keep the ball? Then why those hopeful long balls? Keep it on the ground, and stay on the ball.
- Were we set up to attack? Then why did we not get the ball forward too often, and at least get a respectable number of shots on target? Liverpool's defence isn't world class, FFS, our attack is!
- Were we set up to counter? Then where is the pace required to do that. Why did Welbeck not start?

Throughout the game, I was under the feeling that there was no clarity amongst the player as to whose role was what. Moyes simply put out a team, is all. We had no gameplan, looked disjointed as usual and were just hoping for something to happen whenever we got the ball to Januzaj or RvP.

The next biggest worry was that Dithering Dave dithered again. Biggest game of your managerial career, and you hesitate to pull off a player who's having a bad day because you think his reputation is too big for that. People who think like that should never find themselves managing United. RvP and Mata should have come off in the 50th minute, not the 75th. Players played poorly and without heart, but the manager's responsible for everything else. If he couldn't show any improvement today, then he never will. 5 games won out of 14 this season. Sack Moyes now.

On another note, I am resigned to the fact that unless there are moments of individual brilliance involved, our teamwork will not be good enough to get us a win against fecking Olympiakos. I don't think we will keep a clean sheet for starters, not even with Spider-Man as our keeper.

I think he is intimidated by the players, now do we give him chance to rebuild the team? It is a risk, he may improve with players who aren't Fergies Boys and aren't looking down their noses at him. However whoever he brings in of the quality we want and need will have won more than him. He might end up in exactly the same situation, just with different players.

It will be too big a risk to keep him. Allowing him to spend in the summer will hold the next manager back.

Yup. Keeping him for the start of next season basically throws away next season like this one. The sooner we get rid of him the sooner we can go back to being a top team and playing good football.

This is the easiest Liverpool win against United since that 4-0 back in 1990. Even in the 1-4 defeat in 2009 we tried to create chances and turn things around. Today we threw in the towel after the second goal. When things don't go our way, we simply give up.

What makes it worse is this wasn't one of Liverpool's best performances this season. The problems have been the same since the season started. OK, we have to bring in some quality signings, but it's frustrating watching us use the same non effective tactics over and over again. Wasn't it Einstein who said that insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again expecting different results?

If we wanted to carry on playing the same sort of football as last year we would have hired Phelan to run things.

We won't look good again until Moyes has the chance go bring in players who excel playing the type of football that Moyes is comfortable with.

Not sure I agree with you gooDevil (unless you're taking the piss) by that premis if Moyes brings in his type of players that he's comfortable with we will win nothing - just become his version of Everton. Anyway the best "players" on the pitch today were us the fans particularly us in the Stretty. The last 10 -15 minutes were surreal - even when they got the third - I believe offside - couldn't tell (also couldn't care less by then) the 20 times chant was great. As I said it was very surreal and obviously will be totally ignored by the press. We, the fans, ae the heart & soul of this club - always remember that & believe.

Yes, we played poorly, but Liverpool was nothing special either.

An instant bonehead handball led to a pk.
A pointless shove on the back led to a pk.
A shameless dive won them a pk, which Gerrard missed.
A ricochet ball sprung Suarez loose from a point blank range.

De Gea was called to make one sensational save, matched by one great save by Mignolet. (Rooney)

Liverpool were the better team and we deserved defeat. What pisses me off isn't that we coughed up three pk's, which is a just a freak thing that happens here and there, but the lack of any chemistry between our front four. Moyes can't be blamed for any of the three pk's called on us or the Suarez goal, but he can be blamed for a complete absense of an imposing attacking philosophy.

He lost the players a long time ago and I question whether he ever had their respect. Moyes has to go.

You know I remember watching Utd Liverpool games in the 70s and 80s when on occasions they were much better than us but I have never witnessed such a capitulation from us at home.Shambolic.No plan B not much of a plan A Moyes looked lost and didn't know how to change it.Our fans were absolutely superb the players should be ashamed.
Totally agree Phil, been out managing my team tonight and was going over the same thoughts the whole game, we drew 3-3 so some consolation my end. Shambolic says it all.

Well done sounds a good game, I help run our school football team and there's nothing quite like it, great feeling when you do well.

What is the 5th? my fixture app is only showing Swansea, Cardiff, Palace and WBA as wins since the beginning of january?
It can hardly count but the Sunderland game in the cup was technically a win, even though we lost on penalties...
