Fair to say we got out of jail at the end there, hopefully it's a kick up the arse to the team/management to show we don't need to sit off these the entire game, take the game to them and make them worry about defending too, we were awful on the ball for 99% of that half.

Make do how exactly ? How does that force him to play Martial on the right and Rashford on the left ?
Presumably because Walker is good at going forward and Rashford will be more disciplined that Martial. Martial should be doing better against Delph, who you would expect to struggle against our best dribbler.

Get in. City have weaknesses, but we’re just not going at them enough.

Lukaku anonymous, wouldn’t mind Ibra coming on second half.
This. I agree, their defense is not at all strong. We need to push them more. They have a mistake waiting to happen in that back 4 with Otamendi and Delph

Their defence is shocking and weve got the beating of them ALL day long, but on the deck, not in the air.

They can knock it back to the keeper all day from long balls in the air, but on the deck they are shite.

You can always rely on Rashford to put it in the back of the net, massively important goal considering the way we've been playing. Let's hope for a more positive second half, if we keep letting City control play and camp in our half then they'll ultimately end up scoring again.

That’s more like it. If we are going to lose then at least lose with your heads held high and knowing that you had a go.

This defensive mentality from Mourinho is so bloody frustrating. We have the players to give City a good game!

We should’ve defended better at the set piece that City scored from. However, we have mostly limited them like we limited Arsenal. De Gea has had one real save to make.

If we can produce more quality on the ball we can win this second half. We have had the chance to pass through them and spurned it lots.

PS) how many fouls does Jesus have to commit to get a yellow card?

Thank god for Rashford, probably the youngest player on the pitch but shames our more "experienced" players when it comes to showing a bit of character.

I'd rather lose 3-0 than have to watch this subservient crap from Mourinho.

Had to be from a Rojo hoofball didn't it?
Once we pressed and attacked they lost their ground. Simple that's how you can beat them, a half time talk is crucial now. We need to be more brave and not afraid of going forward.

Well done to get level again. We really need to take more care when we get possession and be accurate with our passing. Make sure every counter attack hurts them, because we have the quality to do so. Hoofing the ball upfront repeatedly is just fruitless for the likes of Lukaku to work with.

Lucky 1-1, hope we won't sit back again. We tried to attack for 4 minutes and City had already problems, risk sth and go for it, a draw doesn't help us anyway.

Don't know why Pep has changed the front three's positions. Same with Mourinho to be fair in regards to Rashford/Martial. Both trying to be too clever. You'd want Gabriel Jesus in the box rather than Sterling, no? GJ has scored so many tap-ins, Sané's crossing from the left and Sterling on the right so i find this weird.

We totally did not deserve that goal but amazing what we can do with a bit more positivity. Hopefully we carry that into the second-half because we can't just soak up pressure indefinitely.
Momentum would be with United now, scoring just before half time and all. We can win this.

If we get back to our shells and dont use this goal as wind in our backs at home, i will probably be banned at the end of game.

Terrible tactics from Mourinho. Good fighting spirit to come back. I think the effort is there, but Pep has totally outclassed Mourinho tactically again.

Using Martial and Rashford so deep is stupid. If you play them both you want them, closer to the goal both in the pressing and for the counters. Lingard also have far too much space to cover on his own and his pressing with Lukaku is totally inefficient.

Playing all our attacking players with a park the bus tactics is just not a good move.

I can understand why our first tactic is containing them, because they are a stronger team and more dangerous attacking. But we really need to have more of a go going forward. We have Rashford and Martial alongside Lukaku, but it looks like one of them is being instructed to stay behind if the other goes forward. We need to be more bold.

Honestly, I would take Lukaku off for a defender/McTominay, move Rashford and Martial more central with Lingard in behind, and counter-attack properly.

Both teams with a brain fart at the back and a lucky 1-1 for us to be honest.
We need to press more in the second half to utilise our strength and speed on the counter. We can't let them play and stand around watching. We are United and we play at OT.

This half looked quite similar to the first half last year - with a better result though - it looks like our guys are shitt*** their pants...

I think Rojo and Young have been poor at lumping it accurately forwards. Not to mention Martial clearly not being comfortable on the right flank.

It was always going to be our tactic. Lets see how it plays out, because its not like citeh have done much with their possession.

Lukaku still has to bump into Otamendi, Fernandinho and Kompany full force so that they tire out and start freaking out at each contact. After that, we can put Zlatan in.

We were pathetic for the first 40 minutes. I mean, seriously, Jose, you're bloody playing at Old Trafford and you'v got a very good team. Have a bloody go and put this lot under pressure. Instead we sat off like a bunch of wimps all half.

The moment we went a goal down and needed to score, we looked twice the team. Friggin delighted at the equalizer.

Also, can we not do Martial on the right and Rashford on the left? Martial looked a huge threat on the left and Rashford got a goal fromt her right.

Did anyone noticed what minute Martial and Rashford exchanged wings?

Not being arrogant here but I genuinely think we're a match for them if we just believe in ourselves a little more on the ball and play a little higher up the pitch. This city team is well drilled but not scary..
I’d like to think that with our attacking talent we can cause them problems. City aren’t used to being pressed, neither was Pep’s Barca. Yes, we might suffer for it but just sitting back and letting them take shots is more frightening.

City attacked for 42 minutes and scored from a corner. We attacked for about 3 minutes and scored straight away. I'm astonished we've hardly attacked the City defence. They are awful but we've let them control us in that half. Need to force some more errors from them.
