High chances Dalot starts considering he was at the press conference alongside Ten Hag?
I checked and no one seemed to get a pass for one round so doesn't seem like it.I’m pretty sure it matters a lot. As i understand it getting first in groups means you skip a round. The runners up in groups have to play an extra game against the third places in the CL groups. So not only do you enter later in the knockout phase, but you also get to play the last game at home. So you get advantages until you reach the quarter finals.
Correct me if i’m wrong, but getting first in groups is huge.

I think they changed it last season when they also introduced the conference league. I think it’s to incentivize getting first place in groups, sorta like how you also get CL if you win EL. More reason to not coast in the EL matches and to award teams that take the competition seriously.I checked and no one seemed to get a pass for one round so doesn't seem like it.
Maybe they changed it recently.
Yeah, you're right in which case let's hope we do get first.I think they changed it last season when they also introduced the conference league. It's true, though. The 8 winners of their respective groups will automatically qualify for the R16, and the other 8 spots will be decided after a knock-out round, in which the 8 runners-up will face the 8 third-placed clubs from the CL groups.First time I hear that.
No sign of Shaw, Martial or Van de Beek in Wednesday's training, according to article (+ video) on official website. I think you can reasonably assume they will miss Thursday's match as they didn't train with the group on Monday either.Next day after a match you'd normally see players who started either doing recovery or very light training, while subs and not involved train more seriously.
No sign of Shaw, Martial, Wan-Bissaka, Van de Beek in Monday's training pics or video.
Zidane Iqbal and Garnacho were training with Ronaldo, Fred, Casemiro, Lindelof, Elanga, Maguire.
Jones and Brandon Williams are not on United's A list for the Europa League group stage due to the timeframes of their respective injuries. Pellistri and Tuanzebe are included so could feature when fit.
Martinez was in training today. But ye id leave him out for this one. I’d go with Elanga, Bruno, Antony and Ronaldo as the front 4. Antony needs more minutes so maybe give him 60 mins then sub him of. Agree that eriksen needs a rest and Casemiro needs minutes so he should 100% start. For all the reasons discussed already here, it's important to start a strong squad and get the home win over the toughest opponent in this group. When it comes to rest, I always think of midfielders first as they do the most work on the pitch. Eriksen clearly needs to sit this one out. So Fred on for Eriksen and Casemiro on for McTominay. I'd stick with Bruno. Assume Martinez is out so Maguire. And yeah, Shaw for Malacia.
Amount of times I used to see Herrera go to press conferences with Van Gaal and Mourinho and not even be in the squad. Sometimes it's just someone who's not remotely controversial and good with media.High chances Dalot starts considering he was at the press conference alongside Ten Hag?
Who’s that in front of Eriksen?
Tyler FredricsonWho’s that in front of Eriksen?
A lot of people think he's fragile. When in fact he is our best runner. No one has Eriksen in their line ups. He injured?
Rested. No one has Eriksen in their line ups. He injured?
That's a good lineup, would like to see Iqbal for Bruno but I reckon DVB will probably start.DeGea
Dalot - Lindelof - Maguire - Shaw
Casemiro - Fred
Antony - Bruno - Rashford
Ronaldo
Subs: Sancho - van de Beek - McTominay
Who says? I say he plays tomorrow.Rested.
Tiny head version of MaguireWho’s that in front of Eriksen?
Need to play the no.2 goalkeeper.Ten Hag's first real test
Kidding aside I don't get people writing this off. Top 4 is absolutely not guaranteed and we really should be able to win this cup.
De Gea
Dalot Martinez Lindelof Malacia
Casemiro Fred
Bruno
Antony Ronaldo Sancho
That would be my preferred lineup too.ETH will probably put mctom in for Zidane though.—————Dubravka

Scott McTominay was leading that part of training I think. It reminded me of when I was in the Army and one of the gym queens (not me) would take part of a session.
It's just people's preference given that he's 30. Not that he's old, but he's not 23.Who says? I say he plays tomorrow.
I agree. Don't think Ten Hag will want to risk a really bad result, but rests for Dalot (young but we don't trust his backup), Eriksen, Varane, Sancho and Rashford make sense. My prediction
